Well i have been planning this little thing for ages, mid last year ask eva2000.
Only problem was finding someone to make a metal case at a price thats well affordable;)
Finally its ready and time to start building.

Where'd you have the case done? Do you have a metalworking shop setup or did you take it somewhere and have them do it for ya?

Some support ribs in the bottom would help with flex, a sheet the bottom will flex without bracing.
basically ask the bender to make a bottom sheet of V shapes and rivet it to the bottom of the original case in a few places to keep the bottom sturdy

The V's don't have to be very deep or even V shaped to add a lot of rigidity.
semicircles or U shapes work equally well when properly mated to the bottom.
You can also have pipes in half and weld them to the bottom if you don't want to use a reinforcement type plate.
a 1/2 in thick slab of Medium Density or High Density Fiber Board in the bottom should do the trick too
Would add a ton of weight though if you weren't planning on shipping them freight.

Looking good. We have Kirby stuff here in NZ but the prices are high. There is also no noise figure given in the specs. Since I want a quiet system I'm not willing to gamble. I'd love to know how loud that compressor turns out.

Wow kayl that thing is looking awesome..I love those condensers, they are by far the beefiest mini-condensers I have ever seen! Just curious, but why ya routing the suction line through the back? Keep up the awesome work can't wait till its finished!

Why bother putting screws/bolts in them, just use rivets, if you're worried about being able to take it apart again, it's a lot quicker to drill out the rivets then it is to unscrew all those bolts, just make sure you have the right size drill bit. Been doing it for years with coldrooms, and as long as you have the right bit and don't go crazy drilling it out, you can put it together and pull it apart heaps of times. Not to mention rivets cost almost nothing, well cheaper then little bolts anyway. CheersQuote:

Was it really necessary to have that many holes? Looking forward to end product none the less :) As for riveting... well it does work quite good and I do love using it myself too. But cleaning aftermass could be.... well... not fun.
Thought about using nut rivets instead on your unit? Those works great as if you mass up the thread, just replace it and you are done.

I went for the suction line through the back of the case, so that I could take the hood of the case if need to change a fan, or replace battery in temp display or something, just seemed easier at the time to have it that way. hey kayl I just seen your post where you where going to get 10 cases, did you ever consider buying a box and pan brake and a shear??? a import 48" brake is around 400.00 and a 52"shear 900.00 usa dolllars but you should do a lot better if you by used especially the shear. metal is cheap ,even if you buy new after 15 or 20 cases its paid for then its about 90% profit (labor) for every thing after.

Nut Rivets are just like rivet in applying (well kind of). Instead of blind rivet (which we call rivets), this things goes in with threads inside. In fact, many computer cases have these type of rivets in there for screw mounting places. Basically saves your time putting the threading in as well as if the thread gets damaged, you just drill old one out, put new one in, and your done.
Search "rivet nut" under google and it will show you very good idea.
Those are a little on the expensive side and require special tool to install.but a real good option. another option is body clips ,you drill a hole and they slide on, no tool required.
just use self threading hex head screws.(I like the hex heads with screwdiver slot also) while you need a driver to install the first time after that thet can be put in and out with a screwdriver. there are basicly 2 types: a ZIP point (just a sharp point to start hole generaly work well in up to 20 gage steel.(#10,#12,#14 screw size) and Drill point ,any gage but a little more expensive than zip point.(these are great for larger diameter sizes) (#10 and larger) note a drill/driver should be used (has adjustable torque settings) with a magnetic hex bit.
tip: if your not used to using these center punching will help with accurate placement but not needed. also the shorter lenghts are easier to use. get 1/2"

This is the start to the Sc21F system with r404a.
I am using 12v fans in this system with a variable power supply from 9v to 14v.
Its running 9v for now. I also installed a manual on switch for the fans to cool case if need when system is off.
The suction line can be as short as 30cm or as long as 60cm for different cases

What is your opinion on operating 24/7 and operating 12hrs/day ie switch off and on? There are a lot of different opinions and success on mounting, these seem to depend upon evap mounting as well, ie how well they trap cold. Can phase really be used relibly?

What type of mount do u use for your units? Are you putting anymore development into those? Will those be suitable for dual cpu board?
It seems that the biggest prob is to ensure air tight seal around CPU socket, with comments being posted that more difficult on LGA775. Have you got a preferred method or is that MOB dependent and / or try it and see?

if the mount plate has hose for the Xeon so no reason why couldnt use dual heads. FOr cascades and auto cascades its important again you dont let the system get too cold before booting, ie -45c i would boot mine at once at -100c the mobo should be warm and stop the creep of the insulation

first turn on for day takes 3mins to reach -42c settling at -44c ilde until loaded.
aroud -40c after that. load 2001 -37 -36c.
dual prime for 1 hour -33c.

well finally finished this unit, i justed ended up taking out the gfroster Xe1.2 controller as it doenst work, still waiting on parts to fix the broken controller.
start up issues (trips) and character display errors.
So i just installed a basic temp probe that reads to -50c.
1/4Hp kirby with r290/R507 I glued some sound proofing inslation to the enclosure to quieten it up a tad more.

Yo Kayl where you get all those damn cube condensers? They're like a rarity in the USA, and i've got 4 in my workshop and havent seen another for sale in weeks.
it would be fun but alot of work wdrzal. I dont mind getting cases made, my new case is gonna have studs for compressor, studs for gfroster controller and also pems for the sinde pannels and compressor base to screw unit together. no more tapping holes :stick: .Quote:

Final check to make sure die is centre then insulate and bench.
-35c cpu head and -20c nb for 3dmark o1 bench.
290/507/410a
i didnt have a back plate on the cpu head, im getting some more made soon.
cpu was unstable for dual prime.
but with a 8x i still couldnt get past 457fsb, i think mobo doesnt like this ram cpu combo?

idle -40c cpu and -15c NB.
funny for 3dmark05 NB sits around -25c cpu -38c
spi the NB is a little cooler again cant remember
orthos loads the cooler tones more and temps even out at around -32c cpu and NB -34c.
and all test on 3dmark 01 -35c cpu and -20c NB
seems really heavy load the NB gets alot cooler:toast:
after a few hours the NB idle gets to -25 but it takes a hour or so
