Currently, you can use GPU-Z to dump your current card BIOS. After that, you'll have to drop back to a DOS environment, as WinFlash is not working with the 5850 or 5870 from my experience.
The new version of ATIFlash supports 5850 and 5870 flashing, and we've flashed several 5870 and a few 5850 cards so far. That's why I was asking for your MSI BIOS on the TPU boards. ;)
Currently not working, however, is the ability to change settings using RBE and then properly flash the card. After flashing the modded RBE BIOS and rebooting, the drivers will simply BSOD or refuse to load. I can only assume this is caused by string errors in the RBE process.
Yeah, please post the MSI bios. :)

Whats so great about MSI Bios?
Here's the MSI BIOS - hope he doesn't mind me posting it.
There's nothing "special" about it, just looking to pick it apart for now, while waiting for the ASUS / MSI unlocked one.
Yes, just tested it. MSI Afterburner voltage changes are working all the way up.
Well, not on my card, it's still the same. I can move the slider every way I want, but it just stays at 1.087 Volts under load.
Seems that voltage adjustment is possible up until using AMD GPU Tool to change the clock. Then, the voltage reverts back to 1.087v.
Thx for the flashing instructions and I am glad you posted the bios. Also I just checked and my voltage setting is not sticking either. I just got lucky and my chip will do 850/ 1250 on stock voltage. Has anyone posted a new Asus 5850 bios?
I doubt your card would have a tweaked bios on it.
The guy from MSI that posted the 5870 one said 3 days ago that he hadn't done one then. The first we'll see of it will be when he posts it I reckon.
The problem is that nobody has their hands on the ASUS 5850 yet, or at least anyone here. ;)
msi will release a unlocked 5850 bios soon tho.
If you go over at the guru3d forums, in the Afterburner thread it seems Unwinder has found the fix for voltage control.
On my Gigabyte 5850, Afterburner for voltage + Gpu Clock for clocks is working and the Afterburner readings show the changes.
I did not bench but another user has.
Original bios no flashing etc involved.
It is in the /program files/msi afterburner/profiles/ folder, make sur you paste the whole thing inside the file with the long filename referring to the actual gfx card.
Does Afterburner + GPU clock require the MSI 5850 bios? And does anyone have an opinion on whether it's preferable to the Asus bios (I know the Asus 5850 bios isn't out, but perhaps some have experience with their 5870 bios)?
My XFX 5850 is arriving tomorrow.
Heres the Asus 5850 bios for those who might want it
My idle temps are way to high :( They are sitting around 56c and when I run furmark the fan isn't kicking up. Hopefully my frustration will be someone elses boon.
Quick story, when i turn on OCCT or Furmark the fan goes retarded and drops to about ~900rpm causing the card to overheat. The second I close either of those the fan ramps to full 4000rpm. Games run fine so far. Dreading RMA since Newegg is dry out of them and jacked the price up.

will i be able to put the msi bios on it and adjust the voltage like you guys do?
succeeded
