Insane speed!
Congrats for the 1st place hicookie

Nice
Can't wait to see what these bench like next month.
-
Superb HiCookie!!
Makes me want to remove some ram and try one stick with loose timings myself! I think I better now :D
-
madness. waiting for a 3.0 GHz break ;)
-
Performance is probably about as good as 2200MHz CL8. Still a killer frequency though. :)
-
-
Great result.
What I don't like about P55 is that one has to stick to 4Gb of RAM to clock it decently (4 slot OCing is a pain), which doesn't seem much at all...
What RAM stick was used?
-
Seems like s1156 will bring a lot of fun, maybe better performance when OCed than Core i7?

Super insane !!! :shocked::shocked:
congrats !
-
Pffff, it's not even DDR3-3000, try harder.
It's not weird why Hicookie always gets early access to play with Gigabyte goodness. ;)

lol he works for Gigabyte :p:
-
Good job can't wait for more results. I haven't been long got my kingston Hyper's back but i am too scared to even mess with them now.............
-
Yeah our Gigabyte rep was in the other day and had nothing but praise for Hicookie and all the work he's done to help them tune their BIOS releases.
Thanks for pushing the envelope!
-
Great Resualt
Congrat To Hicookie 3000MHZ Be Close And Soon :)
It's So ripsnorting :D

I know but it's not like every Gigabyte or other manufacturer's rep posess the knowledge of tweaking and overclocking like him.
My point was, let Hicookie test board before launch, leak some stunning results to popular forums -> cheap valuable PR for the manufacturer. A lot better than putting up some random sometimes annoying flashy ads to hardware sites. ;)
Hicookie and Shamino are 2 excellent examples of how one worker can be of extraordinary value to a company. Hopefully in the future more talented people with hardware knowledge will be hired by manufacturers, they need them.
-
crazy nice :D
but dual channel would of be even nicer :)
-
That one is reserved for you George :)

:welcome: Great work,so close to 3GHz DDR3
Respect
-
This was one of the few times I had that feeling the world spinned around my head, you know.... Like when Hipro posts a thread :D
This is insane. It is impressive to see DDR2 1800 and DDR3 2900+ records on GB. This is a real testament

i totally agree
hicookie is very very VERY skilled :yepp:
-
Insane, 3GHz is just around the corner -- I didn't think we'd reach this so fast
Congrats Hicookie!

upgrade incoming? :rofl::rofl:
core i5 is the new oc plataform? i can't wait to see scores for 3dmark with CFX of 5890 :ROTF:
-
I3's and I5's are coming out. I just feel bad for the 920's users, etc. Since they are "suppose" to sub these few line up of chips out. Seems intel pulled a last minute quick get your money when they released the D0 stepping then these pop out. I know it will be a little cheaper but they sure changed the sockets fast on us this time.

:shocked::shocked::shocked: unbelievable :up::up::up:
-
Wow, near 3 ghz!
How Model of Gskill utilized?

No, i5 750 is already proven to be quite a bit slower clock for clock and there hasn't been any proper clock for clock benchmark yet for i7 860/870 vs i7 9xx series, only one at different clock where you could with some calculation see the 8xx series are almost as fast clock for clock which when adding the better RAM overclockability (and possibly higher avg CPU OC?) at best it will match X58 platform. So I'd say sth like i7 870 @ 5.75GHz might be needed to match 5.5GHz Bloomfield. Expecting more than that is being very optimistic but for a bit lower price I'm not complaining and I like RAM perf tweaking. :D
However I will still remain a bit passive and see what the champs can do with these boards that seems to allow for easy 250+ blcks on LN2. With already 270 broken I wouldn't be suprised if we yet see near 300 if not 300 eventually but will the CPU frequency allow for any higher clocks than Bloomfield, remains to be seen. If say i7 870 @ 22x265 (5.83GHz) was benchable then it could perhaps have a slight edge. ^^
-
It still just imppresive , how much v.core used and what cooling ?
-
i'll be slapping SS on my system in the next day or so
lets see what i can get out of it :D

stock is all over the place in Australia for GBT gear and an odd murmur about chips hehe
-
I've got two boards but not chip :( Looking forward to seeing what you pull from that board, maybe we can all do 270bclk :D

from what i hear 270 isnt the limit either lol
i'll get some updates soon fellas
-
wow you just got it dinos22 !! Looking forward for the result my friend
-
Wow, very great job Hicookie!
-
if you stand by me, and wathcing me pull bclk to the highest BLCK
and this highest DDR3, you will see how easy i can run,
and only takes me like 10mins to get the validation
im saying, DDR3-3048 is easy on gigabyte P55
DDR3-3048 VDIMM 1.82V

Congrats

DDR3-3048 at 1.82v.... WHAT THE HELL xD
-
Hmm I told myself I'd skip s1156 and i5 completely but now that I see this I might have to reconsider:p:
Good job hicookie and gigabyte:up:

GSKILL F3-16000CL9T - 6GBTD (DDR3-2000C9 1.65v)
a 3 CH pack for X58, now it likes P55 platform more.
-
first samples of 16000CL9 Hicookie?
I think BBSE goes crazy too on P55.
I hope to get next week my GSKILL samples for P55 :D
Nice toys dinos, wait for some damage ;)
-
i need a i7-860 because it have a higher memory divider as the i5-750, with this CPU i can only reach DDR3-2280 because the BCLK is limited to 228Mhz (aircooling) :(
But i´ll wait and see what the CPU can do on a GB P55-UD5 which arrives tomorrow :D

Ah cool i tought you mean 16000GPS (first samples was hyper).
anyway as i know all Trident series are BBSE so cool to know i have some crazy nice BBSE @ Home
-
awesome, now I expect Andre to chime in with DDR3-3000 @ cas 7 soon :Dj/k
-
-
How goes dual channel? :)
-
thanks for showing Hicookie, Gigabyte are keep pushing it huh :D
-
nice results hicookie, ddr3-3000 is history, well done. but lets see some stability now :D

I doubt we will be seeing over DDR3-3000 kits but those may be seen in the future I suppose. And I thought DDR3-2000 was gonna correspond to DDR2-1200 at first seeing X58 results.
-
-
I hope your last stick can do over 3000MHz too.

HICookie !!
Great Work as Always

Just total sicknesssssSs! Show some Everest please!
-
these raw numbers look jolly exciting but they are just "empty words" if not backed up by any decent performance figures
-
Those of you who are perceptive will notice a few things going down. Firstly - low CPU multiplier, secondly single channel. In some cases only 1GB and in others 2GB (its all conditional). Third fact is that this is done @ 2N and at a horrible CAS; tCL will be horrific compared to CAS 8 around 2300 which some of these sticks are capable of @ 1N in dual channel. So real benching I think will be around 2300-2500 CAS 8/9 (maybe CAS 7 for cherry sticks and those who thrive on voltages for their hard-ons), depending upon your modules and the capabilities of the CPU. That all being said, people have fun chasing numbers like these for the sake of it and I expect it will become a prominent part of i5 willy waving.
The screenie I posted was by a friend btw in a cold environment (modules were at -20 or so). I think Hicookie's result was also done in a sub-zero 'chamber' around -40 (not sure but you can ask him to confirm).
later
-
Yeah i recall Gigabyte tour photos having shown the sub zero chamber they have :) Willy waving - love the term :)
