I honestly have not run any tests, It was a bad mount, I smeared paste off to the side of the IHS, being I'm low on ceramic I said screw it as I have about enough to do a DI run then remount one more time. Just be patient.

I hope that overclock is on stock volts, after all the 940's currently available are capable of 3.5-3.6 stock volts a little over 3.7 shouldn't be to difficult.

Don't quote me on this but I believe this is a 945 BE C2 revision.
As far as using 1.50 it makes not one difference.........its still id's it as ES.
None of that is important though they could call it 20K leagues under the sea edition for all I care, results are what is really important.
That said it appears that if AMD so chooses to they can most certainly release a 3.2g part with 1.250v default vcore ( thats what bios reads it at by default )

Unfortunately 4.3 is eluding me for now idle stable, It may be temp related, I have a "real" heatsink on the way finally so hopefully I can determine this later in the week.

Now onto the reason for the delays......I wanted 2800+ nb results across the board. I hit a wall with cinebench and refused to give up, took me quite some time to track down the issue. Turns out with HIGH NB + Xfire cinebench will crash.........I pulled a card and finally got to benching.

absolutely amazing. if this is any indication what an am3 945 can do. i'm definitely going to get it when i have the money. i can get my 940 up to 3.8Ghz, but it's not stable at all at vcore of 1.5. i'm looking for deals on the TRUE as well to cool my 940 now and an am3 945 later on. thanks again for sharing chew. i wish you could install all ddr2 slot for a total of 8gigs of memory. just curious, do you have to send this chip back to AMD? i wish i can get an ES chip :).

As far as the chip if amd requests it back I would have to oblige, following to the "no pictures" rule however means I can't sell it or lend it out because then its out of my control. That is the very reason why I still have my ATI manta reference board to this day, and I was recently questioned if i had sold it because it's still to this day a big NO NO for it to be in someone elses hands.

and it does seem as though this 'edges' ahead the 940, as an upgrade option for current AM2+ motherboards, this maybe is the the nice stepping stone needed for the transition to DDR3.
now all we need is a price on the retail part :rolleyes:
please, please, AMD dont blow it with the pricing on this one, if this is priced to to the hilt, then it may just go the way of the 9600's, pricing along with possible DDR3 issues.

i don't think my asus board has multiplier up to 22. i only see 20 as the highest multi in the bios. that's an incredible oc there chew. any recommendation on a good heatsink for air cooling for my 940? i'm using an ultra-120 right now.
Is that the TRUE? If so grab a few panaflos or deltas get yourself a fan controller and push pull it. I still say its the best heatsink to date when you do the following, Lap cpu, Lap TRUE, Washer mod, push/pull with 1600rpm fans.Quote:
