Well you can overclock the cards in Vista to match the WR clocks :D.And 6Ghz Deneb should additionally boost (at least) a SM2.0 score since that one is more CPU bound than SM3.0.
.., that is really sweet scores for AMD.., this will bring more benchers to the scen.., GJ :-)

My chip did easy 6GHz 3DM06 run in Chicago, so I will do my Phenom II runs in mid January with that cpu. It is nice to have more parts to play with.
Comparing Phenom II to other processors is hard.. We should remember, that the price of these will not be 1000-1200€. These are very powerfull cheap systems.. It's good for masses.

More Volatage on everything? In first step I had problems with HTT/HT/NB freq. On my last bench on cascade (-114*C) I had 280HTT, and 2250 HT/NB freq. with no problems :up: Go and puch it higher ;]Quote:

I think that PII will be a very fun and inexpensive way to bench. Will it beat a 965 in vantage? Of course not... but this is great news for everyone who doesnt have an i7 budget. Not to mention with a golden 6.5 (maybe ?) cpu you can still do damage!
I want to see how they clock in 01 myself... could you try that Andre?

Most of them are bugged; some at -10°C, some at -50°C. It's always nice to see someone wrestle with the coldbug :-).

wellwell, youre chip might be awfully alot coldbugged(on the ht link) i dunno.
The amd overclocking is going to be, finding an chip which first of all clocks high, but also can have an high HT link at those temps needed for those freqs. for the 3dmark benchies though, could be interesting.

dont say superpi stuff, its just a total waste for comparison amd-intel.
Superpi likes, much, fast low latency cache, which phenoms doesnt exactly excell at either.
Their L3 cache isnt exactly fast to say it mildly, it got boosted quite abit in the phenom 2.
But for the HT link, and all that, what i think is that its gonna be an battle for highest clock with high HT link for 3dmarks.
Ive seen 2100 mhz Ht link at -110 so it is possible with good results! it was "only" 5100 mhz too.

If you can go way down on the temp, and way up on the HT link andre =).
and check up unganged, ganged memory, and NB speed always have to be higher than HT link or equal.

for 6G run 1.95 Volts or maybe even higher! but test ht links first, might even boost score more than some mhz
That is what other say though, my experience is solely based on temps @ 70+ and down to 50- and not LN2. and not even PH2, but they should behave the same when it comes down to memory, ht links and NB clocks (not exactly, PH2 tend to reach higher HT link speeds.)

there's obviously some other reason.. Love to know what it is exactly. Hell even 512kb L2 Celeron beats Deneb at it with no IMC not to mention Yonah even with 2mb cache, a 3 issue core and no marco-ops fusion :) Cache obviously has a lot to do with the scaling of the benchmark, as evident by celeron (conroe-L) vs 4Mb conroe, but it's how the cache is utilized that has a large bearing on it.. perhaps in combination with another unrelated factor

Core 7 does good there too though, but anyways. Impressive 3dmark run at those speed and if the settings i posted @last page is applied i guess we can see something close to WR.

High HT LINK!.
High as possible cpu clock OFC, but balance between HT link and Cpu clock (coldbug issues here guys @ higher HT links)
Cpu benchmarks( Especially Single thread and alike(anything core 2 score good at)
Low HT link for non coldbug.
Maximum clock.
Tight timings for some.
3D benchmarks is the hard thing, and really, number crounching like superpi which is hilariously slow at calculating pi is worth nothing for me, i'd run it to compare vs same architecture/brand.

if Phenom 2 was say 10% slower than yorkfield @ it, it would still be a valid bench for comparisons, as that's not an unreasonable lead given ther raw single threaded crunching differences between the uArch's.

the netburst arch performed as bad at superpi (clock/clock) vs A64 k8 as it did in any other app.. (i.e 45-50% slower clock/clock) , this ipc was reflected across most benchmarks out there, not just pi.. (with the exception of some encoding apps).. it's even reflected in the model numbering (i.e a 3400+ A64 would do pi around the same time as a 3.4Ghz netburst)
fastwrd to phenom, or better still phenom II vs Core 2 .. it's a good 35-40% behind clock/clock with a 4Mb conroe/kent, and closer to 50% behind 6M wolf/york.. which we all know is totally unrepresentative of the general performance across the board (single threaded)

when i'm Ocing with LN2 on this board - at ~ -60*C ~ 70*C it's can't reset after tweaking in bios ???? T_T
