[UPDATE]My new Watercooling Setup WORKLOG (56k Warning^^)

First of all i have to say, that the Lian Li PC-A71B is the best case i´ve got so far. Maybe because it´s my first Lian Li Case, but it´s just so flexible and ther is so much space in it. And of course it looks very beautiful :)
Today i started modding the case.
I made everthing with the Dremel and it took ma about 2 Hours to cut everything out und drill the holes, and aftherwards it took ma again 1 Hour + to clean up the mess i´ve made :>
Here are some first pictures, i still need to make some Precisiongrinding and i need to redrill the holes for the Aquatube because they are a bit too small, but that´s what i´ve done so far. (This weird looking white thingies on the top and the tube are just some residues of the sticky tabes, no scratches^^, also need to clean this up)

Unfortunately I´ve to work very long tomorrow and Friday and i´m still waiting at my GPU Block so i´ll post some new pics primaly on Sutterday. This are just some Impressions and like i said i still need so clean some things and make some Precisionwork.

That residue will come off easy.
Looks like an interesting build but please reduce the pics size.
Side scrolling is a major pain and many will give your thread a miss because of it. Which would be a pity.

AquaTube uses 5 screw holes to mount to the plate, and the Bullseye uses 4 to mount to the plate IIRC

Res looks pretty shallow though, doesn't look like any AquaTube I've seen before.

Sry for the big image size, i´ll make them smaller now. I use my dad´s cam and his resolution is like 3500x2530 or something :/.

Today i finished my case and installed the Rad and Res. Still have to clean some things up again, but like i said i had to work very long yersterday and today. Tommorow i hope i have enough time to start installing the Watercooling Setup (my last 2 parts finally arrived today :D )

That alphacool pump res is a major pain to bleed properly. There's a technique involving freezing the coolant its users sometimes employ.
Don't have a link but a search on hard forums might find it.

A flat half bastard file, about 6", would trim your case cut edges back out of sight. Might look a bit better hidden behind the grill.

After filling up the system to flush the rad and coolers i noticed that i´ve got a pinhole leak in the Rad :/ Took my some time to solder it but now it´s ok again.
Currently I´m doing leaktest and bleeding out the system.

PS: Yes i´m using one loop, i think thats enough for now CPU,GPU,NB. If i would cool the Mosfets und SB too with a new mobo sometimes i think about adding a second.

I use 2 Res because i need the Alphacool top to fill up my system.
I still got some bubbles in my system before the Rad, hope they will soon bleed out :/

In your fifth pic, post #12, the vid card and motherboard are on a bedspread or carpet. Be wary of static charge building up with that material. It can be quite easy to zap a component. You probably know about that already but worth mentioning in case.

So update. I haven´t postet a few days now because i decided to rebuild my system a bit and that took some time. I also had to order some Arctic Glue because the Ramsinks were to heave to mount them on the Mosfets from the Graphic Card with the Arctic Silver 5.
Systems looks like this now. I diceded to change the Tubing and i didnt add the Alutube to my Loop now because it´s just for modding and cost my some performance.
System is already filled up and bleeding out right now.
The Tube from the Rad -> CPU still gets a bubble by the Connector from the Rad like before, maybe you got some suggestion to get this one away without bleeding out the system for 24h (if this even helps^^).

Try tipping the puter on to its back and run it for a few minutes. Back end, not side.
After that all the air should be in the rad at the far end from the tubes, the highest point in the system.
You can then turn it off and unscrew the small bleed screw in the PA rad's bottom end, currently the highest point. Top up the fluid through the screw hole with a syringe or very thin tube until all air is removed.
Its just about impossible to collect the air and bleed through that type of pump res. But you're OK because of the PA bleed screw.

Its hard to see in your pics which tube is the pump outlet. Does it pump to the rad or to the gpu?

Thank you very much Jedda. That helped. I still got a few bubbles in the Res but the dont harm my system, just make some sound sometimes^^ When i´m upgrading next i´ll get a new Res for sure, but whatever.
System is done now.
Temps are quite nice, especially for single loop.
Cpu: Idle: ~20-22C Load: ~27-29 (oced @ 3ghz @ 1,375Vcore)
Gpu: Idle: ~49C Load: 62C (oced @ 650/1500/1850)
NB: ~35C

Here is a pic, i´ll add some more later in the Case Gallery. Thanks to everyone who helped or inspired me and i hope you like my system :)

That is insanely nice. The Lian Li PC-A71 case works out really nice for water cooled setups. If I ever get around to buying a new case (I'm fairly happy with my Cooler Master RC-690), I can see myself getting that case and doing a fairly similar setup.

If you do a second loop, where are you thinking of putting the radiator for it? Mounted off the back fan mount with a radbox?

Nice build! I've been wanting to see some water cooled builds with the A70 or A71. I would like to see some more pics if possible. One thing I'm interested in is figuring out how to get the cleanest wiring ... e.g. drilling holes in the motherboard tray, etc. Would appreciate any thoughts you have on this.

If you ever remove the rad grill again, you can hide the shiny saw cut edges in the top of your case by taking a black magic marker and "color" the edges. It will blend better with the black rad grill.

Was your original green tubes green Primoflex tubing? I have used blue, clear and red before, but never thought green would look as good as in your case.

If you mount it on the top end of the case with a Radbox, you could have some issues with connecting everthing on the Mobo outside if the Rad is bigger dann 1x120mm, but it should be no problem. Otherwise you should also be able to mount a 2x120 Rad in ther Front of the case if you move the movable HDD cage a bit.

No Problem to drill some holes in the motherboard tray. theres enough space behind to hide the sleeves.

PS: If you want to know your maximum heat consumption on your Graphic Card you should play Crysis for a while^^ i´ve got about 63 after running 3dmark06 twotimes and about 72 after playing 8h crysis :> No change in CPU and NB Temperature but the Card is the last component so it´s getting a bit hotter after benching or gaming a long time

Actually, the rear 120mm fan is beside the motherboard, so mounting a Rad there might only cause problems for the PSU power cable (or maybe if you have dual monitors), and that's only if it's a 120.3, since the motherboard's I/O panel is off to the side. And if it does cause problems, you could always make a bracket that sicks out about 5-6 cm (say 2"), which should give it enough clearance for any cables.

I'm looking at this case or the g70 for myself and i think this might be the best choice.

I'd be using a pa120.3 up top and a pa120.2 at the front.

I´m currently rebuiling my System, well i´m still waiting at my Ek 150ml Multioption Res. I already got some Blue Led Fans to replace the stock Lian Li Case Fans, some black noise-absorbent mat, my 8800 GT SSC, and 2x36Gb Raptors i´ve got quite cheap so i´ll give them a try :)
I also changed my E6600 into an E6750, that clocks much than my E6600 did (3ghz@1,52V :() but thats not something you will see^^.
Will post some pics at the end of the week and this time i´ll also post UV pics.. i totally forgot about them the first time :|

I love the look of that reservoir; however, make sure that you understand the implications of introducing aluminum into a copper loop. ;) That case works beautifully for a tidy layout. :clap:

Thinking about getting the A71 to replace my 4 year old PC71.

After my EK Res finally arrived after 2 Weeks of waiting i was able to finish my Loop again. My 8800GT SSC isn´t wc´ed this time because i hope the new GF9 is out soon and then i´ll change it with my 8800GT and watercool the new card again.

Got my case today to. I tried the thermo PA120.3 in the roof. Are u using a shroud between roof and rad or is it fans on both sides of the radiator ??

I received my A71 last night .... omg!! the build quality is amazing. You really do get what you pay for! the other thing that jumps out at you is the sheer size of the case, its bleedin' huge.

It's because I have a PA120.2 laying here, and was wondering if it would fit in the front without having to mod it.

Distance between the 2 front fans should be around 20mm (measured from the edges of the screwholes).
From the screwholes of the bottomfan to the bottom of the case should be around 28mm.

This is approx. the space needed for the PA120.2 to fit the front.

Isnt a pa120.2 to thick (deep) to fit between the HDD cage and case front? Its like 59 mm thick...
Would be great if it did tho! Im thinking about switching cases myself so...Or can you move the HDD cage?

I just measured for ya, but Ill let Origin do a double check.

The distance from the bottom of the case to the bottom fan is a little over 20mm, and the distance between the 2 fans is only 15mm.

So I guess you could either mod it, or just attach one fan to the case, and the other just to the rad.

Juplier - the distance between the bottom of the case and middle of the bottom hole is 2cm and the distance (hole to hole) of the two fans in the middle is 2cm

Guess the PA won't fit in the front without cutting a hole in the bottom.
ATM, I'm glad I haven't ordered it yet (that's why I asked a couple of weeks ago).

Another solution might be to place the rad right after the HD cage (there where the 2 middle fans are placed.)

www.frozencpu.com had a custom build of A71B. Couln´t find it now but it they mounted a tripple in the roof and a dual in the front. Remove hard drive cage and hang the dual in that rear fan holder with the white plastic stuff. I was planing to do that but haven´t got that far yet ^^

I can post a pic of my 71B tomorrow....

Maybe installing a U-shaped bracket between front of the case and the rad might be a solution.

At one side of the bracket, you drill a hole which matches the front holes.
On the opposite side of the bracket, you do the same, but this time, about 2-3 cm higher, so that the rad is lifted and won't touch the bottom of the case.

Get a custom shroud made, doesn't have to have the same purpose as a normal shroud (i.e thickness to move fans away from core) but just to mount fans to it, then have the shroud attached to the thermochill and perhaps lift it up a tad so it doesn't require cutting of the bottom of the case.

As the HD cage will be removed, you can mount that plate by making a 90° bow at one end of the plate (approx. 3cm wide), drill some holes in the bowed part, and mount it in the provided holes from the HD cage.

And while you're at it, you can make some fanholes in that plate, so you can make a push-pull config.

I hope you understand what I mean.

yeah i understand what you mean, you might not even have to drill holes are there is already pre-made holes that the hdd cage screws into
