Hey guys,
Don't know if this has been posted yet but Eddy pronouced a new waterblock on his website is in the final stage of manufacturing.
It's expected around november 12th.
I hope Eddy don't mind me linking a pic from his website but here's a peek:

Looks like it's suitable for more than just one socket,just like the FuZion, Storm, etc.
Knowing Eddy's products this block is gonna rock. ;)

my apogee gt is in desperate need of an upgrade, and i was going to order a fuzion....but hopefully this will spank a fuzion and if so this is what i am going to get

Looks like it will be a more high performance block with pins than EK's other blocks. There's no obvious proof but I'd guess it is, no point in another channel type block really.

I think it will be something in the lines of the fuZion/ Apogee GT, it's likely Eddy focused on making a block for quad and dualcores.

Center nozzle type blocks have much lower pressure drops because the flow rate is split across the pins. That's why the GTX has a higher pressure drop because you have the full flow rate running across all the pins. A center inlet block splits out the flow and it also allows the coolest water and the downward motion of the water scrub the base better.
Time will tell, always glad to see another top notch EK product. I just wish I had one of their CNC machines in my garage..:D

i have my money ready to go for a fuzion with a nozzle kit...but I will wait for this if you can GUARANTEE that it will outperform the modded fuzion on my QX6700.
is it designed for quads...do you have any peformance numbers or comparisons?

I’m more interested in the mounting hardware to be honest... In the past would say the mounting hardware is the most annoying thing about EK blocks, wave, chipset blocks but most of all the 680i block :O ... just always seems to be a bit of an afterthought?
the other bonus tot his one is that it already looks like the barbs are spaced at a sensible distance, so this time you can actually get the tubes on without loosing a finger

We have some final things to arrange, then it's straight to market.
If everything goes according to plan we'll have on Friday first delivery to the resellers. Some blocks will be also available in our shop.

The base plate is made of electrolytic copper lapped and polished to +/- 0,0007 mm flatness.
I still have every faith this block will rock.
The price isn't too bad either, at least not for us europeans.

Well yes in that case it would be fine but i can't find a word about bowing the base.
Already goes to no.1 of my preference for cpu block without internal pics and reviews :)
The reason I think bowed works, is its pushing the IHS down onto the core, making up for some of intels (relativley) sloppy fit.
This, nice and flat, will do me just fine ... I would put money on its going to be within a couple of degrees of a fusion at worst, good enough for me.

I understand but the apogee base is 3mm thick! And, when that is bowed and mounted it looks like a fun house mirror after! With your base being so thin, it will most certainly distort even worse... The step only needs to be .3mm deep...Quote:

Interesting, it looks to have a very thin base.
I always thought you would want the thinnest base possible until just recently. It was one of the nagging thoughts in my mind and one of many reasons for buying my own mill. But testing my own block proved otherwise...
V1 & V2 = Base Thickness = .085" - Fairly thin, but good results, V2 only had a nozzle change.
V3, no internal change, milled base down only.
I milled the base down to .045" - Very thin. temperatures went up by several degrees!
I'm going thicker on V4 and will test in thickness increments to see if I can find that magical optimum thickness.
My conclusion was that base thickness serves an important role in collecting and distributing the heat into the pins...too thin and you end up just cooling from the pins directly above the die. Apparently the heat conductivity properties of copper are good enough that some thickness and the benefit of distributing that heat outwiegh the benefits of a super thin base. Obviously there is some sort of balance between base thickness and the surface area of the pins it's collecting, but I no longer think along the "thinner the better" lines.
This "heat spreading" effect appears to have some similarities to the results Bill Adams did with this cold plate C/W testing.

I used my custum mounting for all the blocks. It has custum backplate, M4 screw and quite strong springs. This also means that i had to widden mount holes on Fusion and Apogee.
I tested with dual Orthos Prime Small FFT's, priority 9, 10min For temperature I used Core Temp for core temperatures and Fluke for water temp.
The graph shows delta temperature, average temperature of all 4 cores - water temp.
I didn't measure flow rate, but it is noticable slower than with Apogee or Fusion. Will do that in near future. And for this test I used the most restrictive variation of Supreme block

It looks good, but I only buy blocks with acrylic tops... I do buy partly on the concept of aesthetics, though I don't buy crap either way. You can have both, if you're willing to either look hard enough or make your own...
