New 30000btu cascade.R410-R1150 (56k warning)

Today i started a new cascade for a friend from outofspecs.gr :) Nikos wants something powerfull for his quad. So i choose almost the same parts as the previous cascade. The only differences are the compressor/gas for first stage and a bit smaller condeser. I just finished the first stage and probably by the end of this week i will have the first results.

Of course dual capillary.

How is the noise level of this monster?

Very nice monster, however wont you want to have the first stage feed the bottom of the plate hx.
Do you feel you need such large compressors by the way? Also, is that a 10 plate heat exchanger? (Just wondering)

No but the money difference between a 9000btu and a 18000btu is really small...
Also with 18000btu in first stage i am not pushing the system to the limits.

I thought the condenser was huge. Then I saw the compressors.

13.5-14bar high without the second stage. Looks ok to me.

1,8m length x2 (you can start from 2,2m)
0,78 diameter.

The cap tubes must be exactly exactly exactly the same! and must placed exactly at the same place both.

Yes they need to be, but they dont have to be. Since your using both to the same evaporator you wont have much of a difference if theres a difference in between the captubes.

Looking great :) Something I dare not venture in typically due to power drain... you lucky 220 volters :)
R410a compressors typically are around that size to begin with NoL. As for feeding hx from top, there is reason to that from what I see especially considering gas utilized. I wonder how 2nd stage would like it though not having cross flow myself though :) Get back to us with some results Unseen:)

Thanks for the info mate, look forward to seeing how well the 410a does, it should be a great first stage refrigerant and be able to hold the load of the second stage easy with the added bit of extra cooling.

what kind of hose are you using for the gauge mounted on first stage after the condenser? I've never seen such hoses.

is it regular stainless or is it something else?

Flexible, (comma) rubber coated line. Didnt mean a rubber line by itself. Like maybe a stainless braided line, (comma) that is rubber coated to match in color.

Where can I find panel mount pressure gauges like yours?

McMaster in US carries them. You could go ask in refrigeration store, or search e-bay as well. There are some surplus stores as well which I haven't had much luck getting decent quality ones...
Yes way on that account Tony :)

The pipe to the gause is a teflon pipe especialy made for refrigeration. The code name is "Reflex" and the connects is pressurised with a special tool.I made them.It is very easy. It can hold 45bar pressure. Bitzer is the company that uses them. I can find 3/8 pipe too which is also very flexible for using them as flex hose from the evap.

@sweeper In any refrigeration shop,else tell me to send you some.

Unseen, I think everyone here loves to look at your photos, and then guess what the items are. Its no fun when you come in here later and tell us we were all wrong. You keep score on who guessed the most parts right. Though I think Jin or Ron would win that anyway.....

All these differents words are confusing :D

In france "soldering" means welding, and we've got soft "brazing" (soldering) and hard "brazing" (brazing) :p:

germany/austria isn't alone, same word in swedish as well.

btw, very nice unit as always, as well as the semihermetic compressors :)

To the second stage i used 3,40m of 0.91 capilary for better temps at high loads.

What did you do with the compressors which are sitting on the floor?
vacuum pump :D (of course not :D ) ?
Btw. in a chiller i've been build, i tried to evaporate from top -> down but at load, that didn't work. I would really suggest to change that.

very nice unseen, that evap looks massive, and some nice temps as well.
The copper run between on the second stage compressor, oil sep and de supaheater condenser requires a copper coil between them to reduce vibrations on the joins.

Me too ! Hehe...I will try today wprime and i will report.
During the 32m i had ~-91 to the headsprider.
Remember that first of all i am an overclocker not an HVAC guy!
Thats why i am making stuff only for my friends.
Dont wait from me to show you temps from load testers etc by the way...

24/7 on cascade.... I just don't know.... I do it just because I believe in such load test but for cascade, I am not really sure such applies to be honest due to nature of benches lasting not long (shorter the better eh? :P)

sorry my friend but i dont see any reason doing that. The cascade is not for 24/7.
Yesterday i played ~3-4 hours and every time i am benching is for ~4 hours straight if this is ok for you.

@Jinu yes i think the same. The difference between heatsprider temp and evap temp is ~10-12 usally but of course it depends the evap design.

Outstanding work unseen and very good temps, what load would you say you say this chip is pull with this clock and volts?

It does help,but in saying that im currently second for QX6850 wprime1024M with 4.9ghz on the cpu and with only 1gb of ram running at just under 500MHz. :D

Those wprime times are insane ,i find tighter timings for wprime is usually giving me faster times than higher ram speeds, and the opposite for superPi

yer i think Prime95 is a usless test if the hardest your gunna run is wprime
i once thought it was good but now i know it is a total waste of time..

it seems to heat cores up insanly compared to what you would use benching for hwbot scores .

somone is gunna be very hapy with that cooler as it looks so tidy..

You can connect high side with low side by the hand valve and captube. Suction grow up = worse temps on evap with out turn off 2nd stage.
