can i get it in a retail store? I work at target(10% off) plus I have a 5$ off coupon(the $1 art disc had a $5 coupon) so I'm looking at around 10 bucks off so i'm wondering.

Sounds like Crysis won't be the hardware killer we were all expecting but more details are needed like resolution/aa/af. It played decently on my 7900GTO so long as I was outdoors(the MP demo), indoors ran like ass.
haha, I'm with [XC] gomeler, under 3.0 is pretty normal for most of the college students I know

Well seeing how incomplete the BETA actually was I wouldn't be too suprised. Funny seeing the text "Shader's processing" or whatever it it keeps saying on the yellow colored textures the first few secs when you've got ingame.

In the beta I know people had GTX's more or less maxed at 1680x1050 wiht everything cranked. GTS's could play at that res with a few details turned to medium respectably all in XP. I run my 2900XT in Vista at 1440x900 and it runs decently well, low to mid 30's, with an occasional drop into the 20's when massive explosions happen all max out as well (no AA).Quote:

well, at least 1440x900 looks very good on my 22" display. you can't even see that its an interpolated image. so i guess a good 24" could do a lower res just as well.Quote:

I think he meant he hoped that the SP demo was on DX10 as well as DX9, not DX10 exclusively. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Is the MP beta a good indicator of how the game will run? I've got a 7900GTX and i have to drop down to 1280x800 low settings to get decent Fps.... MP Beta looking like crap at that rez and settings.
that is a 24 in. Its the camera making it look smaller.
cant wait for the demo, thats good news on the SP running decent on that hardware. now lets hope the MP isnt as awfull as farcry was at first. Ive been playing the beta, its fun n all but needs some work.
and yes Community college is the wise thing to do! i only did 2 years myself, ive been thinking of going to UNR one of these days to finish, been a few years though since i sat down and tried to study:P

In that case at similiar graphics levels as DX9 mode, the game runs even faster in DX10 but most likely the DX10 graphics enhancements will bring at least some slowdowns but it might not be enough for it to make it equal to or below DX9 performance. So it's possible that DX10 might bring some performance enchament even in this game.

Guys, there's only 1 seeder because no one else has finished the download.
Two, it's pointless because it's the EA Link version, which means you can only play in the editor unless you pre-ordered. Essentially, you might as well wait until tommorrow.
I wonder why the elitest attitude with only people who ordered through EA allowed to download it now?
They have f*cked with id software's original idea all those years ago to let their software go out over the Internet quite royally :(

i pre-ordered it from ea store, so i was able to preloaded yesterday ... and just played a bit
i have a single GTS @ 650/2000 , Q6600 @ 3.51GHz, 6GB DDR2 @900 dual chan in XP 32(yes only sees 2.8G:))
hmm am getting crappy performance .... only ~30fps @ 1680x1050 all high DX9 max out.. i have essentially a stock GTX ...
and when u walk around or sprint , u get 5 fps lower ...
yes this is with the new 169.01 i think.. that new driver came out

u need GTS SLI to get 40+fps on 1680x1050, and maybe GTX SLI to get that performance @ 1920x1080+

there is no AF option .. am guessing 0??? no AA as well .. boy this game is wayy too demanding.. i doubt increasing AF do anything to the performance

Though ATi I think needs a new driver as turning on AA kills my game.
Its not a low fps issue for me its like complete stuttering. "skipping dvd"
I'm running it on Xp32 with 2x1900XT's in crossfire 2x1gb gskill 800 and a E4300 @ 3.2.
Runs well at all high settings for me. 20fps low 40avg and goes up to 50 once and a great while. @ 1440x900

I was playing with at 1280x1024 (some wired reason no typical selection for widescreen monitors in DX10 mode) ways playing with high everything, medium for shadows and very high on shaders (mmm cool looking water) ~30FPS average.
