Yeah I tried it a bunch of different ways and it will bootm but won't run prime for more than 5 mins before errors.

What volts are you using? I tried 1.4 vcore but the vdroop drops it to 1.36 or there aboutsm tried 1.42 and vdroop is better, but prime crashes faster.

What mem volts? Are you running 333 or 400 at 1061 and 2.0b or......??

Hey guys i am making a budget PC for a buddy. Before i went i7 i worked with 3 ud3p and i freaking loved em.

so for my friend i am thinking about UD3L / E7400. What is a decent oc i could attain with that. Also whats a good cheap 4gb kit that u guys would recommend for oc on ud3L with 7400.

I agree, on my P5Q Dlx board all I did was change vcore, turn off all the usual speedstep, c1e etc. and and unlatch ram....and something else can't remember...probably ram volts, and wham 4.2Ghz prime stable....totally stable.

You must of had a golden p5b deluxe I would think,

If you think this has alot of options stay away from a dfi board.

Anyways I took my E3110 to 600fsb bottable, and 630 would run memtest for a while. All I did was change the vcore, vmch, vddr and turn off c1e and such. The other voltages you can play with to make it stable.

Personally I really like this board so far. Very easy to oc and has enough options to tweak it to pull those extra mhz.

I've got mine to 3.8GHz, vcore @1.4 to do it. I'm gonna try to hit 4.0 just to see if I can, but I'm gonna run 3.6 for my 24/7 setting. My combination does it easy.

for FSB/DRAM at 1:2 (4.0Bx) the overclocking seems to be requiring me to use high VTT value,
the voltage use is quite a bit higher than other memory ratios. however, i am not quite sure yet since this board and ram are both still very new to me.

this board also seems to undervolt vdimm (bios set vs. value in Windows) by as much as 0.05 or so, esp. during a full load.


as of now i'm still trying to stable this below DDR1900.

WR :up: i think i tryed 1.4 and it drops to 1.36v also im on the 333 at 1061 mem at 2.0v cuz what kind of ram do you have also

golden :confused: i got that high of fsb but not on the 9.5 multi but highest oc was lil over 5GHz

and my 600 fsb was at 7X :) but i like it also but still need to work on it and fixing to get a phase build soon still working out the details so i hope to get 5 on this mobo without too much fuss and see what the X3350 can pull

I have Dominator 8500 2x1gb. So if you tried 1.4 vcore and then vdroop was too much, what did you finally set it to for the e8500?

So your running Xeon in that board too and switching back and forth?

Can you possibly post your e8500 settings at 442x9.5?...I could try them and see if it will work but I'm about to give up.

Yeah I still have the P5Q, it's in my other rig with my other e8500 running 4.2ghz....easiest OC I ever did. That's why this ud3p is so frustrating, plus I had the same e8500 that's in it now in a 680i sli board running 442x9.5 prime stable before I got this ud3p, so I know the chip can handle it.

Thanks for any help. I'm going to try 442x9.5 with ram at 1061, never tried that always set ram to 1:1 884, so we'll see but I don't hold out much hope.

Oh I forgot to say I have another P5Q Dlx board that I was going put in rig for my Niece, but she ended up getting a laptop, so I have it for sale. Got the box and all goodies it came with opened it to check it out so box seal is broken, otherwise brand new.

Hi, Just got my new EP45-UD3P today and am about to install it with my Q9650 and Gskill-Pi DDR2 1100. Since I am brand new to overclocking on a Gigabyte board I was wondering if anyone could hook me up with some VTT and MCH/NB voltages to use for 465-475-500fsb's? Any other tips that come along with this motherboard like; which voltages overvolt on auto or which software to or not to use with the board(like EasyTune6) or anything else that a brand new user needs to know, please please please hook me up guys. Thanks tons guys!

Hey Guys, just grabbed a qx9650 & a ep45-ud3p. Leaving everything at stock, I upped the multi to 11x (so it was roughly 3.0ghz) and it was stable, other changes(fsb or higher multi) would cause a couple reboots and reset all the settings. Can someone post one of those logs with all the settings, not for the voltages and fsb/multi, but all the other things that change name with different brands and such, all the different controls are confusing and I just want to mess with the basics for now. The ud3p seems to take more voltage than the dlx so whatever you used on the dlx add a little to start with, like vcore will have to be a few steps higher. Unlike the dlx what you put in the bios wont be accurately read by cpuz, it always reads lower and jumps up in .16 increments. Depends on the bios but 5:6 (2.40b) seems to be buggy, it only works at certain speeds for me. Watch your reference voltages, both the cpu reference and nb reference track the vvt voltage. If you change vvt but not nb, your nb reference will be off. I usually keep them the same to make it easy.

i just got one of the ud3p's too. i am planning on watercooling. does anybody with that board use a NB block and if so which on?
i could not find one that clearly states that it is compatible with this board.

OK, I never had 465fsb stable on my P5Q-deluxe but from your information I got a good idea for a graph with the Q9650, please anyone correct these if they are wrong.

465FSB- 1.34FSBv/VTT and 1.34 NorthBridgeV

475FSB- 1.34-1.36FSBv/VTT and 1.36-1.38 NorthBridgeV

500FSB- 1.40FSBv/VTT ?? and 1.42 NorthBridgeV


If these are too high or to low please let me know, I plan on messing with 9x475 and 8.5x500 to see which one gives the best results for CPU and RAM.

Those are good starting pionts. Incase you raise vtt and nb at different rates, remember the nb reference tracks the vtt voltage not the nb voltage.

Sweet! I just got everything put back together and got the drivers installed. I got the revision 1.1/A3 board and it came with bios F6 installed. I might flash to F7 eventually but for now I need to play around with it to get the feel of everything. Since I have never used a Gigabyte board before the bios is a bit confusing but not so hard and combined with the manual and this forum I should be able to figure everything out just fine. I do not plan on setting the reference settings at first so my first OC will be just 9x467 at 1.35vcore/1.34VTT/1.50PLL/1.36MCH(NB) and everything else on auto, I did remember to turn off all the C1E/TM/Virtualization stuff.

Ok, I can not get my ram to boot over 1066mhz. When I try running 467FSB and 2.40B for 1122mhz nothing I do will boot. I got the basic timing info set to 5-5-5-15 but what should I be doing for trrd/twtr/twr/trfc/trtp, command rate and the driving strength profile- all of these are on auto and I think that is what's causing me not to be able to boot at 1121.

Ya the 5:6 2.40b is bugged even on the F7 bios. I think it works on one of the older bios but not sure which one.

Do you use Load Line with this board? I could not boot with it even with the vcore set to 1.37, so I turned it off and eventually got into windows with the bios vcore set to 1.4500 and under load CPUZ reports that as 1.344(mostly) or 1.360 and that is passing prime95 small ftt for about 30 mins now at 9x470. This is totally different to me. Why does CPUZ read the ram timings at higher then what is set in the BIOS? Hoss, can you give me your full settings for your overclock and let me try that with a bit more vcore? I am thinking I will need about 1.35-1.37 in reality for 4.2-4.3ghz.


EDIT: I need to know about the "Driving Strength profile" because I have no idea what that means or does. Also I normally use TRFC of 55 with 2x2gb kits on the ASUS boards, does that stay the same for this board?

Im coming from a problematic P5Q-E so what you've reported having issues with is not comforting. The LLC not wanting to boot enabled, ram issues (I have same ram as you), and bugged 5:6 are all issues I really didn't want to see on this board... :(

On another note the last GB board I used had issues where it would power on and off over and over again occaisionally. This issue has been resolved I'm assuming?

Mine still does the boot-loop thing occasionally due to bad overclock attempt.
I just turn off the powersupply, turn on the computer switch, turn on the powersupply; turn on the computer, enter better numbers and go. Irritating; but its better than resetting the bios every time.

I have had no issues with 240b or any boot issues using LLC. Running 5:6/240b on the mem at 1130mhz 16 hours Prime blend stable. Was also stable with LLC enabled, same clocks. Have tried both f6 and f7 bios and both have worked just fine for me. If it wont to do the 5:6 maybe the chip just doesn't like a divider.
