sub8 32m spi windows 7. Ram 8x, 7,7,6,20. uncore 21x. Window open to control temps. Vcore 1.66.
My ram just wont do 10x 2070 at that bclk, so had to settle for tighter timings at 8x.
man that is awesome. I am honestly let down by my i7. not even 1.44 vcore will get 4ghz stable. Im wondering if temps are the issue.
you should be able to get 3.6Ghz or 3.7Ghz.. it beat my qx9650 at 4.4Ghz

o i can run 4ghz all day long no problems with only 1.36 vcore. but it fails with a BSOD in prime or linx instantly. raising vcore doesnt seem to help any. So i run it at 4ghz daily and have been for the past 2 weeks and have not once had a single crash from it.

I have 2 sets of 3x1gb. Just for fun I ran at 6x1gb at my prime stable settings...but I have to increase my vtt/qpi from 1.31 to 1.5 and vcore about 8 notches, just to get some stability. But it is two different types, OCZ and corsair dom. I have some 3x2 coming which i dont think will be a problem. But I think supplying all 6 slots makes OCing very difficult, and increases voltage requirements dramatically.
Guys what am I doing wrong?? My first time with a i7 overclock and I can't get linpack stable at all. Using newest occt. Running msi x58 platinum and i7 920 with 3 gigs gskill ddr 3 1333 =. I am only going for 3.8ghz and am running all settings auto with v core @1.32 bluescreen with 2 secs of linpack What am I missing?? Thanks
i have tried just 3 sticks as well. nothing seems to work honestly. I am getting 2 gtx295's so maybe that will make me happy???
O i did get to windows at 4315mhz. using turbo with no HT. it automatically gave a vcore of 1.55 which passed super pi 1m!
Sorry to hear that, I get 4.2Ghz at 1.41v vcore. Also, if you read this Anandtech article, they list it as a good overclocker:

Your memory sticks do not necessarily hold you down, it is probably Uncore if you haven't bumped Dram voltage a little higher than 1.64.
Why are you running Uncore at x22 ? you can run x20 which gives you more stability.
Try x10 Dram/x20 Uncore.
And as I said, you will probably need to bump the Dram voltage to the 1.80v range in order to keep the ram and Uncore stable.

The radiator seems to out perform the Black Ice GTX 240 Rev 2.0 by about 3-4 degrees from a couple of reviews i have seen. Haven't seen how it compares to The PA120.2, but i assume it's behind it.

does the vtt voltage that should be in 0.5 range of dram voltage is same as qpi voltage?
Thanks for your extensive explenation. :p: :) It's really appreciated. I also was thinking of getting the GTZ block since D-Tek (still) haven't released their modified bracket yet. *How long can it take to make a new bracket out of steel. It's not particularly rocket science, now is it?!?.*
However, in the liquid cooling section I found someone who modified the GTZ bracket with his dremel to make it fit on the D-Tek V1. I'm only not really satisfied with the backplate of GTZ and therefore I also ordered the EK backplate. To me it seems that the EK backplate will dissipate mounting pressure a lot better. If this works it will save me some money on a new CPU block. If it doesn't I'm screwed and still have to buy a new one. :D
I also used the 5,5mm nozzle on my E8600 and worked flawlessly. But I think I will try the Fuzion V1 without a nozzle than on the i7. I hope it will give good results and I don't have to dismantle the loop a second time. In case flow will be to high I can still lower the pump speed of my D5. Ofcourse I will post temps. by the time my system is up and running.

I have had my DRAM as high as 2v, and qpt/vtt at 1.68v trying 10/20, but no luck. My ram will do 2000 at 8,8,8, 21 with 1.96 dram v 1.62qpi/vtt running arena chess at 22x uncore, but spi 32m on that setting or 10x/20x makes rounding errors or bsod. I dont want to run higher v than that on 6 minute stress test. And for whatever reason my ram does not like 9,9,9, timings, does same at those, except worse times.
Once I have dram v up to 1.96 or so and qpi 1.62v, 22x (4530mhz) uncore is pretty stable. And uncore makes a huge impact on spi times. At 20x uncore, I would never make sub8, even with ram at 2000, judging by first few passes it does make it through at 10/20.
On Anandtech I read something about two voltage that may not differ more than 0,5v from each other. Can somebody pls explain which voltage settings these are on a Asus P6T Deluxe?
Yes, it has to do with the physics and what these new CPU's and the Mem Bus and COntroller can withstand. It's a differential voltage problem. If you start getting away from a .5v diff between the QPI/DRAM (Vtt) and the DRAM voltage it could cause damage. This was Explained by Dr. WHo ina post on here early on right around release time. He also said that like all OC'ing to do so at your own risk.
In this case, I'd say the less diff the better. Since we usually deal with around 1.65v on the DRAM, we need to keep around 1.3-1.4v on the QPI/DRAM. 1.35v on the QPI/DRAM is the Intel max spec if I'm remebering right. I have 1.3v set in mine right now and it's fine on the rig in my sig. Be careful with Vtt though, becasue there is a limit, and if you go too high damage to the IMC can result. I don't think we know where that line is yet, but some have been running slightly over spec voltages with succsess although it doesn;t mean they'll be able to do that for long periods of time. It's all about the risk you are willing to take.
I'm on the more conservative side, and I'm very careful what I say about voltage because voltage can cure some problems, but it also kills these parts if one goes to high. AFter a bunch of reading, I've developed a feel for it, but I'm very careful what I do.
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I got my new i7-940 in on Friday. The bad news is since I'm WCed, I didn't want to tilt my PC over to install it and when I tried, I bent a some of the pins on the CPU slot :( SOOO I had to buy a new MB. I had the Gigabyte X58 extreme(which I liked), locally I was only able to find an Asus P6T Deluxe. I'm still trying to get used to it. I can't find where you turn turbo on.
Well, this chip does 215+bclk with only 1.35 qpi/vtt. My old 920 needed 1.79+ for 210 bclk.
Right now, I'm running 4GHz(211 x 19) HT on with about 1.31 V(does that sound good, or it is a bit high?) - I'm still tweaking it a bit.
