Did you both have Pull-Ins enabled? Also, what voltage?
Printable View
That's pretty nice. :)
First page ;)
I think this is the one you're after:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CYL4M0TJ
Aye, thanks found it hiding in the pack :O
Let us know how it works out if you try it.
Thanks larry and the other guy, yeah 2nd degree.. It doesn't hurt this morning. It hurt like no other last night though. I'm glad to see people saying it might be fixed with 1406. I wonder if Luci5r has tried this BIOS yet as he can't get into windows like me at all.
Pull-ins were disabled. I found them to have no impact at all. All this pull-in stuff is only theoretical anyway, theres no actual proof of it doing what the theory suggests.
Mine worked with th 0803 BIOS. though I could actually see it get faster latencies by like 3ns I believe.
I just flashed to 703m and it seems stable, I'm liking it so far. <3 not like the new crap bioses with cpu M-E
Ket,
Thanks for these Bioses, saw an improvement with 100% stock settings. Now to figure out how to actually OC this board (selections to set FSB etc are locked right now)
1406 tried use it whit same volts that i did on 0803 -> restart
I belive that the CME is still freaking me
You should start at stock and leave everything stock settings cept the ram voltage and see if it is stable then if it is tweak from there and never use your OC profile from the 0803 on these new ones "you might know that, just being proactive there no offense".
Yeah yeah i know, overvolting can be lower on 1406 than 0803 was..
Hmm strange, first time stability testing on stock settings and i take a not that my CPU-Z shows my 1.1500 on 100% LOAD (linpack test) This confuses me becouse my VID is 1.2500 according realtemp...! and it even runs stable :D
Can someone light my way in dark... ?
Probably (yet another) BIOS bug Asus have made.
Maybe he mean.. I don't know lol, sorry. Maybe it's the way you worded it that's all. I get it though you are saying everything is ok on stock and you even use less cpu voltage which amazes you. That's not a bad thing. Apparently, people say , that you can get a lower voltage stability with the P45 chipset. Just tweak it up and see how far you can get now.
I meant the BIOS is probably misreporting voltages.
Well thats easy to test..
Okey tested and set volts manually, and it shows right volts :o ??
Yeah I think it is to because I seen some one else saying they were having issues with setting them their self and I was thinking probably because everything has changed again. I should flash to it now as well and see if I see any difference with this Q6600 I have in her right now.
I was wrong. I can actually PL7 up to about DDR1220, and that's with drive strength set to Strong.
Currently I'm at 1200 with vDIMM @ 2.02v (in BIOS). MemTest (Windows version) stable. This might become my 24/7 clock, actually. 4.00GHz CPU, 1200 RAM. I can't tell any difference in general use with these lowered settings and I'd rather not push everything to the max all the time anyway. Something tells me 1.4v for 24/7 use isn't the best idea. My CPU can do 4Ghz on much lower voltage (1.26v, approx), so that'll do fine for me. vNB = 1.14, CPU PLL Voltage = 1.52, FSB Termination Voltage = 1.14.
Is the download link on the front page the latest bios for asus P5Q deluxe ?
And ore is it rather bug free like it won't destroy annything :p
1.4v would be fine 24\7. Idle and load actual voltage would be below that anyway. Idle it would probably be about 1.38v and load around 1.37v.
Nope. Load = 1.408v. Idle = 1.392v. Both measured in CPU-Z and while stress testing in Orthos small FFT's. LLC is enabled.
Surprised your running LLC. Pushes a lot of things out of whack. No conclusive evidence it kills CPUs, but still, the possibility is there and not just based off smoke fumes.
Without it, vCore is all over the place!
:\ My vcore has always been very stable on the P5Q Pro. Then again, my PSU ain't no lightweight with 80A across the 12v rails. Even running OCCT I think the highest ripple I saw on the 12v rail was 0.46%, which is well within electrical tolerences.
1.425 vCore set in BIOS = 1.408 idle and 1.360 load.
That's pretty bad. I'm keeping LLC enabled. Nothing I ever try can get this CPU past 4.33GHz anyway. Nothing!
How man "spiking" devices do you have connected to your PSU? Yup, you even have to be careful of things like that to maintain stable, clean power by evenly placing "spiking" devices on the PSU.
True I had to spread my shiznit out across my modular because it was having issues with three drives on a single rail , which I rhought would be fine but nope.. It is a silverstone 750W modular one to, no cheapy..
Interesting. So how do I set them up evenly? I hate cable clutter!
Oh, one other thing: I have a "Turbo" mode on this PSU which supposedly combines all 6 rails. That's actually a lie, I don't even think this PSU has 6 rails. Maybe I shouldn't have it on Turbo?
901m bricked my p5q pro.. tried everything.. cmos.. holding power down.. no battery.. is there a more stable bios?? or whats the one you recommend for a p5q pro.. and which program to flash it? i got another one..
Basically, make sure all your spiking devices aren't on the same line. For example; have your SATA drives on one line, then use another line for other devices like optical drives, then a 3rd line for things like fans.
What were you doing for 901m to brick your board? I was using 901m prior to my.. "experiment", and it was rock solid. As already said though, 703m is a great BIOS so go with that to start
Hi ket nice to meet you myfriend:)
I have a P5Q non Pro and upgraded to your mBios 1307 and i had no problems at all like crashes BSODS no POST nothing at all and my PC works like a charm now thanks to you
say would you be kind and add the P5Q Premium OC Settings to the other P5Q Series so that everybody will enjoy great OC?
Settings Like:
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A1
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A2
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B1
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B2
CPU GTL Voltage Reference 0/2
CPU GTL Voltage Reference 1/3
NB GTL Reference
btw:I Dont know you but i know a little about you like:the good:
You are sesetive person and introvert and you have internal rich world and developed imagination and you have a strong connection to home and family and mostly the mother character and developed ability to care listen and understanding ability and developed memory ability
The bad:low self esteem difficulty in making changes and deeply need in secured environment and difficulty in simple thinking and wide catch of reality
subjective catch in essence
note:it seems you are a very vulnerable person that never forget who hurt him
what do you think of this analyzing? i hope youre not hurt of the analyze cuz you see its just analyze nothing more so tell me what you think of it.
btw2:i found a website that has all the tools asus have and as you said you dont have all of them so tell me if you want the link to it or you can PM Me
Thanks in advance myfriend:up::up::up:
LMAO wtf is wrong with the above past, rofl, you just made my day sir!
Heh heh heh.. too funny.
I think I speak for everybody when I say :gay: :p: I will be adding what I can
when I can test the BIOS, which will be when my P5Q board gets back from RMA. Also, are you like my internet stalker or something? :p:
Any links you have for asus tools post up, I'm sure I'm not the only BIOS modder out there!
i tried to just load the bios... w/ ezflash through my usb drive and bam i restart the computer and no post.. so you reccommend 703?? is that one of the most stable and best bios revisions u make?? i gotta p5q pro / e8400 / ocz reaper pc1066 ddr2. lookin to get it up to 3.8-4.0..
what do you recommend to update the bios? aiupdate? ezflash? afudos?
EZ Flash should work just fine. Did you load default BIOS values before you flashed? This is important.
no ididnt.. should i clear my cmos before i flash the new bios? and obviously after the flash.
Do as Dee suggested. Also, do NOT use any mBIOS I have not included in my first post. I think a few people have quoted me when I done those BIOS files that pushed things a bit far and as I cant remember my password an stuff atm I can't pull the files from the server until my main system is up again.
Hi ket i didnt ment it that way its just an astrology analyze thats all and no im not gay at all i love girls [and pretty ones] like you its just that i love seeing smart pepole it feels good to know pepole that are super smart inteligent and genius like you cuz im like that too and by the way my sign [Luck] is aquarius and you may know that aquarius pepole can achive super inteligence and genuinity alot easy than other signs and as they say "we live in the aquarius era" now i dont mean to say other signs are bad no their good every sign has its adventages and disadvantage so it varies by your birth date
btw:whoever in here please post your sign and/or birth date.:)
and whoever is an aqua then good for him and enjoy your sign cuz youre genius
btw2:here you go ket the tools for the Asus BIOSes
http://www.rebelshavenforum.com/sis-...;f=52;t=000125
and i hope youll make some day a new BIOSes From scratch so that all will enjoy high speed PC:up::up::up::up:
And thanks in advance.:)
Haha don't worry m8 we like to tease some of the newcomers around here :p: Thanks for the link  Brand spanking new BIOSes will never come from me though, it takes a lot of effort to write a BIOS from scratch, and thats something I can't do without a company hiring me. Theres all kinds of crazy tools involved with making a BIOS, compilers, decompilers, hex editing to some extent for quick hack fixes, etc.
Yeah. Good practice to reset to defaults before a BIOS flash unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure everything is 101% stable.
so the recommended bios to start from scratch would be the 703m?? i used the 901m in the first post.. but it corrupted my board for some reason.. maybe a bad flash..
could u also post a link to the bios also. thank you
First page, its in the BIOS pack.
Glad i could help Damn it feels so good to help :):)
say did the link i gave you it has the tools you didnt have? if so im happy i could help:)
btw:i found a bug in the mBios 1307 For P5Q non Pro:
Theres a delay before the post delay for about 2 or 3 sec and it doesnt matter what settings i have and in the stock BIOS that problem is gone so im sure its from the mBIOS so hope youll Fix it soon.
so thanks again myfriend
btw2:im from israel and my name is david nice to meet you all and greetings from israel the holy land.:):up:
That may be specific to your system, during the test period I done on the Pro version of that mBIOS there was no POST delay. Your link had some interesting stuff and I did find one application I hadn't seen before, but sadly it doesn't support BIOS files for the C2D family :(
Its highly subjective like you would expect, a BIOS that works well for one may not work as well for another and so forth. I would recommend trying 703m (its in the BIOS pack) and 1307m. Changelog can be found with 1307m, the changes I make to each BIOS are more or less the same.
A more recent version of IDA Pro could prove very useful  best I could find was v4.9.
1406 seems doing very well on my chip, But wich option should i use on this CME ? Compactile i assume?
You can try compatible. Theory is it relaxes things, letting the BIOS actmore like it did before the option was put it.
Yup, compactile seems to be IT
1406 really amazes me, older unmodded bioses i wasnt able boot +1000
but now easily 1066Mhz 5-5-5-15 ! and i can run whit 2 notch lower vcore.
we are still waiting the new bios :) what is your bios ket? do you allready know wn the urban bios will be ready?
New BIOS. 1406.
Change Log: Enhance CPU compatibility with certain Yorkfield C1 stepping CPUs.
Who knows... I'll try it out.
Ahh, OK. I'll try it too.
:)
Thanks Axy.
EDIT: YAY! The stupid "CPU Fan Error" message is gone at last. There was no error, I just like to use Q-Fan on the "Turbo" setting so I can take advantage of my fan's PWM mode. This way it's very quiet (around 460 RPM) at idle.
Good good
Hmm does the Fan profiles work now
I'll mod these betas once my main system is back, or if somebody can give me an ftp link.
Hi Ket:)
I found the latest version of IDA Pro the version is 5.3 and theres a few more apps there that you may want to use.
http://www.hex-rays.com/idapro/idadown.htm
Might wana remove that 2nd link ;)
Is that a thumbs down to the link or the rules :p:
Whatever you want it to be. :D
Naw, really it was a thumbs down to posting cracked stuff.
Sorry for the link i didnt think at the moment i put the link
its now deleted
Ket you now you have the IDA Pro 5.3 i gave you?:)
If you need another app or something just say myfriend
So ket-- it seems like you actually like the older bios's over the new ones.. m703 seems to be the one you like best-- yes? What about 1406?
Right now im using m1402 and it doesnt seem quite as stable as i would like.. Seems like guys are having good luck on 703 ande 1406.. Also-- is there another place to get your m703?-- Im having a rough time with megaupload tonight..
I do like like 703m a lot, its a fantastic BIOS. When I was running it I could do PL6 @ mem frequencies of 1216MHz+, which lead to some incredible bandwidth scores even with a CPU at *only* 3.4GHz. My P5Q Pro is currently in RMA as 1. I killed the BIOS chip, 2. The fan sesnor was going dodgy, and 3. The board wouldn't POST with a NB voltage of 1.7v+, so haven't had a go with 1406 yet. Theres no other place to get the files apart from megaupload either right now. If your having problems getting the files, then I guess that means quite a lot of ppl are dowloading them atm :p:
I posted them on rapidshare.....
Damn "CPU Fan Error" message returned.
WTF!
Is anyone else getting this error when using Q-Fan to control CPU fan speed? I get it every day when I first turn my PC on.
No errors, fan control just doesnt work at all
That sucks.
Fan control works in 703m
I use Q-Fan and for a period of time (I believe it was with BIOS 1201) I did get the CPU Fan Error. It's been a long time since I've seen that error now tho... or maybe I just haven't been paying attention because I set "Wait for F1 on error" in BIOS to disabled and unplugged the case speaker... if I'm getting the error, I'm no teven aware of it, so it's as good as not getting it :P
I just leave my fans blaring and forget about it.
Pro was having fan and NB issues, hence RMA. AW9D-Max just got a corrupt BIOS so I bought a new board, when my programmer arrives I'll revive the Max. No ETA on the uber BIOS, simply as it might not ever happen.
I wouldn't be able to forget about mine, the CPU fan is ridiculously loud on full blast. Not only that, but there's literally only a 1 degree decrease in temps between full on and Q-Fan managed. With Q-Fan enabled, my CPU fan is silent except for when under heavy load. Massive difference in noise.
That's what I'm gonna do. I don't use a speaker anyway, they are annoying and unnecessary 99% of the time, but I never thought about disabling "Wait for F1" option, for some reason. I'll do it now!
Actually, while I'm thinking about it, what is the point of Num-Lock being enabled on bootup? I have wondered about this for years and never investigated it.
Point of it AFAIK is if the option isn't left on the numberpad on the keyboard is always off and you have to turn it on yourself with the numlock key
Can't wait until you release the P5Q Pro 1406m BIOS Ket
Hopefully my Pro or the TPower will arrive soon, whichever board comes first is what I will use to get my system running again to make the BIOSes
hi Ket when rls mBIOS 1406 for P5Q-DLX?
for all you people postin rapidshare/megauploads.. you should really check out http://www.getdropbox.com/
the app you run is really small and its GREAT, 2 gigs storage, direct download links, and its fast. downloads @ 1.9MB a sec (cap for my cable) like nothing.
You need to run an app to download/upload? No thanks.
