I didn't/don't have the time till Thursday night :(
Tried running 8x500 at my vCPU that I normally run at 4GHz and it passed. So I thought, "Maybe I should go lower?"
What'd you know, I was able to go a smidgen lower. :)

i installed my new power supply and it seems i was able to lower some volts and still be stable.http://i44.tinypic.com/2hf048x.jpghttp://i39.tinypic.com/20ru5fs.jpg
Very nice radaja
Hi guys, im thinking of getting a GA-EP45T-UD3R pretty soon. I have some questions :)
1. Are there any problems with the DDR3 version of the board?
2. What are the differences between revision 1.0 and 1.1?
If i have any more questions i will ask :yepp:
Cheers,
Oz
1.
From what i'v heard the DDR3 version suck.
2.
Sorry I don't know.
I'v done more tests and my E8500 likes 67% GTL references better then 63% (stock) :D
This was the difference between BSOD on 4.2GHz and it working :D

Any input would be liked?
Edit: I know I only should only use 1.2v mch or less, but I forgot to change it :(
With Bios F5 things seem to be more stable mate, previous biosses were not that good. There are still some strap issues ( but most P45 DDR3 boards have those ) Sadly my Corsairs don't clock that good 1720mhz is the max...so I couldn't check the 1800mhz speeds...

I compared it with some results of the Asus P5Q3 and the GB surpasses it easily now on setup and ram bandwith
Take note that this is a poor E7400 and it already bests some peeps scores with highly tweaked DDR2 (and better cpu's)

I too saw the 1.1 version posted on the GB webbie, but have no clue what they have changed...
More tests and results here :
Gigabyte EP45T-UD3P REVIEW
More testing will be done once my PC16000 rams and E8600 ship...
Whats the best BIOS version for overclocking a E8500?
Also, my mobo is a rev A3, but i looked on the Gigabyte website and there was only 1.0 and 1.1. So which one is mine
Thanks
fatguy1992,thanks.A3 is the chipset revision number. 1.0 and 1.1 are board revision numbers.your board revision number should be located on the board itself.
I'm guessing you're getting the "A3" bit from looking at the "Mainboard" tab in CPUz. Look in the field above it next to the model name, it might have it there. If it doesn't then you'll have to look at the motherboard itself. It's located just above the second PCI-Ex slot right on the edge in the corner, before where it says "Made in China" :)
Ok, thanks guys :)
Only thing is, i'm getting the UD3R version of the board, which is only the on the F4 BIOS. But looking at the description (which isn't alot) It's the same as the F5 for the UD3P... Hmmm, either way i'll get the UD3R, hoping they'll come out with better BIOS'es in the near future.
My only guess to why they're bringing out BIOS'es faster for the UD3P, is 'cos they know it's more popular?
Cheers,
Oz
EDIT: oh, and i'm gona have a PC3-12800 CAS7 OCZ kit, hopefully i'll be able to run 1800 with CAS8 :S
I agree with this. Having just finished tweaking an overclock by changing the CPU and MCH ref values in ET6, I then went back into the BIOS and tried the nearest values as I set in ET6. Result was I ended getting boot loop and had to jumper CLR_CMOS to get out of it.
Using the formula shown by Touche above I was able to determine what I actually should be setting in the BIOS to achieve the same shown setting in ET6.
Example, tweaking in ET6 I find that I need 0.80 MCH reference in ET6 to remain stable with a CPU Termination (Gigabyte's term for VTT) of 1.4v. Put those numbers into the formula...
MCH ref value to set in BIOS = 1.4 x 0.80 / 1.2 = 0.933 to 3 decimal places.
I go into the BIOS and select the nearest value for the MCH ref and use the setting 0.926 (next setting up was 0.966 so that would be too high).
I then boot back into Windows, load up ET6 and MCH ref shows 0.80 as expected
Thanks for bringing the formula up Touche, it's saved me a lot of headache now that I can set ref values for both the CPU and MCH without getting infinite boot loop. It also means I don't need to load up ET6 and manually set the values each time either so have some :toast2::toast2::toast2: on me :)
Is it IBT stable now?
How come you lowered ICH I/O?
Why only 1.2?Quote:
Edit: I know I only should only use 1.2v mch or less, but I forgot to change it
Nice table :yepp:
Could you post your BIOS template for that e7400?
Great, glad to see it was correct and helpful
This is my 1st OC with my new chips.,still with C1 stepping.,just want to make sure is this setting suitable for 24/7 use.,but not very stable setting sometimes random BSOD..do i need to change anything guys..?
ezaleina, very nice w/low volts.damn i got to try and lower these volts of mine.i am so jealous.keep up the great work
Aha...those volts are more than fine for 24/7.
Hereīs my Q9650@500 4,0GHz and 2x2 OCZ Reaper PC8500@1000 555 15 tRD10.
Itīs stable with 50 loop LinX (~2hrs, max problem size and max memory use), 2hrs dual P95 blend and ~2hrs Crysis game play. All test done with Windows 7 beta 64bit DX10.
Voltage setup is good for 24/7.

Sure mate :
CPU has a FSB wall at 540FSB, rig posts ( till 560FSB) but after the bios, all goes black lol Tried it on the the Asus mobo same story... but not a bad CPU for 100 euro's...PHP Code:

Could someone please tell me whats wrong with these settings? I'm not looking for it to be stable, but able to run some benchmarks.

If you run 2Gb ram try to set CPU PLL 1,50, CPU Term 1,20-1,26, CPU ref 0,760 (when CPU Term are 1,20) MCH core 1,20-1,24, MCH ref 0,700-0,720 (when CPU Term are 1,20). You should be able to reach FSB 500+ and ram 1:1 with that.
Can also try MCH Clock Skew 50ps.
