DDR3-2000 with 12GB of memory unconditionally stable, is going to be difficult. I achieved DDR3-1904 with 12GB at 7-9-8-20 - using a GSkill PSC based kit. If you can get that, it is more than enough. IMO that is the only reason blend passes and linx fails (not enough mem selected), on older platforms where 2 or 4gb was the norm linx required a little less voltage to pass, and on my x58 if i set custom blend and use more memory blend is still harder to pass. using the latest version 26.xx i bsod in blend on a linx stable system, 4500mhz.
hey skuldarin I found linx the hardest to pass with 980x. So if you're looking for 24/7 stable definetly run linx 25K+ problem size and maybe a quickie Hyper Pi run
i do custom blend and test the rough amount of available memory like LinX does (before i used LinX i was testing 10gb of memory leaving the rest with a bit of head room for windows and whatnot while testing.). i've been making sure to test as much memory as possible every time to insure stability.Quote:

i play bc2 mostly, getting tired of overclocking for now. i run the i7 930 at 4600mhz to play the game with ht disabled, but i dropped vcore down from what it required to pass linx because it has run the game fine for many many hours with no issues at all. i ran linx a lot to get on that 4.5ghz linx stable thread but other than that i could really care less if it passed, as long as it does what i need it to without problems.
Hehe your like me. I did it just for that thread. Otherwise I tend to just run Hyper Pi 32M multi core and then if it passes just play games etc. After a while you get used to how the cpu behaves and just up a setting here and there then all good.Quote:

@ 4.5ghz / 1866mhz CL7, it passes Prime95 previously tested upto 11 hours and no hickups, it passes Pi multi on 32m repeatidly with no issue and it passes memtest easily enough aswell all without BSOD at the following:

vtt - 1.3125v
dram - 1.7v
IOH - 1.23v
PICE - 1.53v
uncore - 2800
link - 7444mhz
ratio - 29x155
cpu - 4.510ghz
mem - 1866mhz @ 7-9-7-24-72-2T
average temps - mid 70's
peak temps - 84*c on core 1, 82 on core 5, 79 on the rest
EDIT: not to mention the only error i get from anything at all is with World of Warcraft. it does get a critical error on a very RARE basis but other than that i don't have any issues.
i'll do more stress testing tonight but here's a shot just before i did about an hour of FFT-12k stressing. i used a memory size of 10512mb (left about 200mb headroom for whatever operations were going in the background). FFT-12k testing showed a peak temp of 89*c but there's much that i do that hardly gets the cpu past 70*c so i'm not worried about it.

250 mhz superpi 1M stable on my I7 920 and it booted fine with 255 mhz blck:D

hye guys..is it possible for me to hit 3600 uncore with my 1600mhz dram mem..??i've set the timings to 8-8-8-24/88..i've push my cpu vtt till 1.400..but keeps on error on linx after 11th test..huhu..any guide..? ..or i have to get the 2000mhz ram in order to achieve that 3600 uncore..?

I'm going to try to push this board for 3D tonight in a dice session. As per usual, I've had difficulty getting past the ~4GHz QPI wall.
