Purpose was agreement with someone's opinion and I would recheck why this thread was created BTW. It was meant for facts which is why I put in the power plant named Fermi because we knew nothing of the damn card except the name at the time.

No, A3 will be the first samples/review cards with small numbers leaking into retail. B1 is in the works and B2 will most likely be the final mass produced GF100.

He passes on what he knows and we can verify it.

So multiple people saying almost all the info he gave is correct isn't enough?
Hopefully he doesn't mind me saying this, he told me back in August that GF100 was ~G200 size, not G200b, even though everyone was saying it was smaller than G200b.
He was also the first one, that I saw, that hinted that AMD wouldn't brand Hemlock as an x2 part.

Do some research and read his posts, you will find out just how accurate he is. He has posted quite a bit of info before Charlie or Fud or anyone else has posted it.

Edit- I don't think you understand how leaks work... It doesn't matter what you think about him or his info, take it or leave it. He doesn't have to prove anything, either the info is right or wrong and eventually we will know one way or the other. Since his his track record is outstanding, I have no reason to doubt his info.

AIB's get cards and finalized specs in Feb.

Reading this thread depresses me. For nearly half the pages in this thread it's just been people repeating themselves. How boring :(

I'm just warning people here that think that GF100 will be [strike]God's[/strike]nVidia's gift to man. If it was, it would've been last year.. not anymore. We're talking about an expensive, marginal (10-30%) upgrade over HD5870.

depends at what perf segment you look at... for some reason cypress doesnt seem to scale very well, especially if you look at the 5970...

2. i dont think he gives a damn about 6 monitor support, so why should he pay extra for that? on the contrary, you end up with mini dp connectors so you need an adapter for every display you hook up to it...

if price wouldnt be an issue, i think most people would def go with a fermi instead of a 5970... even if its slower... i hope ati has a faster single card up their sleeves...

Of course and I know why: CF and SLI plain SUCKS! There are quite a few people that buy the fastest gfx with one GPU on the market, no matter the costs. You're much less dependant on drivers and bugfixes compared to dual-gpu-solutions.

While we are at it.... I'll take the chance to ask Neliz if he has some information on how's ATI going to counter the fermi release...
Will it "only" be a 5870 with 2GB? Maybe with improved clocks?

There will be a "new" single GPU product coming positioned against GF100. coincidentally, it's projected release back in August 2009 was.. March 2010 :D

...and any news on 2gb framebuffer variants?

I'm not dropping cash until I can buy a single gpu 2gb framebuffer 5870 / fermi / whatever the soon to be revealed fermi competitor is .....

Also like some others here I am pretty suprised that there are no 2gb 5850 or 5870's around .... why is this the case?

For now only the Eyefinity6 edition. Just like before, the Gigabyte and MSI OC cards only will have 1GB. (although the MSI board is remarkebly shorter than the normal 5870.)
