Im running my 3110 at 520x7.5 with 4 gigs and perfectly stable. Great board. Longest lasting board Ive had in a while
I'm having a tough time overclocking my Q9550 on my Abit IP35 Pro board.
First question. While researching my problem I've seen some references to the CPU PLL. This isn't in my BIOS. Does the IP35 Pro have this under another name? Is it the same as ICHIO 1.5?
Second question. Are P35 boards bad at overclocking 45nm quad core CPUs or something? Would I have better luck with a P45 board?
I can get my Q9550 up to 3.825GHz, which makes me happy. But I'm not happy with the 1.39vcore/1.23vtt or 1.38vcore/1.30vtt I need to do it with.
cpu multiplier: 8.5x
fsb: 450MHz
speed: 3825MHz
vcore: 1.38v
ddr2: 2.1v
vtt: 1.30v
mch: 1.25v
ich: 1.05
ichio: 1.5
ddr2 ref v: 0
gtlref 0/2: 67%
gtlref 1/3: 67%
tcl: 5
trcd: 5
trp: 5
tras: 18
At first I was real confused by the talk of GTLREF. But I believed most of my confusion was because other motherboards have more GTLREF options, which made me wonder what they were talking about. With the IP35 Pro we just have the two percentages, one for each core to worry about.
I read I should try to make sure the vtt + gtlref % = 0.8 to 1.0. So with my VTT of 1.3 with GTLREF percentages at 67% equals 0.871.
I'm still confused about what vcore and vtt voltages are safe for 45nm CPUs. I've seen people say don't go over 1.36 vcore while others say just stay below 1.45. Vtt seems to be over lower, I was told my 1.3vtt was even too high. *confused*
Anyway, if anyone has any tips, I'd love the help. So far I seem to be stable (really need more testing though), but it seems like I'd like to find a way to do this with lower voltage if possible, even if a newer P45 board is the answer.
I have a Q9550 like you and I am very happy with this board. ICHIO helps to increase the memory bus speed. CPU GTLREF has a small effect on the overcloking, I found that 63% was better than 67% for 45nm.
I did some search about max CPU VTT, it's recommended not to exceed 1.4V
For max Vcore with a good cooling (water), it's recommended not to exceed 1.5V.
I am using 1.37 for CPU VTT and 1.46 for Vcore (not drop, I have done the Vdroop mod), it's running fine for few month so far and prime95, orthos, OCCT stable.

You voltage look safer than mine. I wouldn't be worry if I were you, getting a new motherboard for lower voltage is definitely not worth it.
Official bios 17 is one of the best for the Q9550.
Hope my post help you a little.
Hi guys, I was wondering if the problem persists for all of you or just me. System is stable when i OC in Bios, but when I use uGuru and try to OC it hangs that same second. Now some days it doesn't and its really great i can just OC really quick for some games and then downclock to save power. Is there any fix for the uGuru to work. I got the latest Abit uGuru v3.109
please! thanks
Ace,
Question for you? I had the board IP35 Pro for almost a year now running great with bios 11 system include Q6600 oc to 3.4 vcore 1.360 425x8 gskill memory 4gig at pc1066 and corsair hx620 ps never care to update the bios. I just upgrade the bios to 14 heard a lot of good thing about it and swap ps supply to corsair HX520 and now can't oc anymore have tried all bios 11, 14, 16, 17 no go will boot to windows but as soon run OCCT only last less than 5 minutes lock up, had the vcore up to 1.470 still no go, is there a problem with this board running with the corsair hx520? or I should do more of proper cmos clear like pull out the battery and such....
Any info will be grealy appreciated.
do you have CPUz opened while you have Uguru running?...if so, close CPUz out and then try again.
if that is not the case, i would clear CMOS with the PSU power cord unplugged, CMOS battery out and then push the power button to unload all the caps...leave it out for about 5 minutes.
Thanks Ace for the quick reply, yes no cpuz running with uguru only uguru by itself heard they don't go together quiet well, and still no go I will give the proper cmos clearing battery? anything else I should be aware of
thanks again
Only had one gpu 9800gt, 2 hd, and 2 sata dvd-rom
OK Ace, put the old power supply and can't get the previous OC here is mine current setting
Q600
Vcore 1.3850, MCH 1.44, CPUVTT 1.23, ICH 1.05, DDR 2.10, ICHIO 1.60, DDR REF 0%, CPU CTLREF0,1 67, CPU CTLREF1, 2 65
rest of system Q6600, IP-PRO35 BIOS 14 corsair hx 620 2 sata hd, 2 sata dvd, GPU 9800GT, what could be wrong
I could do this easily at 1.3650 before.

I read several more at the time about issues with the Corsair HX series -- and a few other multi +12v rail PSs. However, I think I only bookmarked these two.

what that tells me you were on the very edge of the OC and disturbing the delicate balance, you can not return there...SO...you have to accept something less for an OC....OR....try the below:
1) i would not use differential CPU GTLREF's.
2) try higher MCH and higher ICHIO.
3) AND...Vcore might need to be higher.
Thanks Ace, what do you mean by would not use differential CPU GTREF? you mean by number for those is no good or just leave at default which is I believe 67?
I will give it a try with higher vcore, mch, and ichio
My system has been running extremely sluggish when burning. The mouse also starts to get jerky and it takes over an hour to burn a dvd when it should only take about 6. Any idea what the problem could be? Running and IP35 Pro with a q6600 with XP Pro SP3
Ok, I'm back again! Did the bolt mod on the mainboard finally and the PWM temps dropped 20C.
Updated rig specs in sig. I am going to tweak the MCH and ICHIO voltages when I find the max FSB.
Using IntelBurnTest for stability testing. Current results so far:
9x Multiplier
430MHz FSB
Vcore 1.2625 in uguru, about 1.29-1.30V displayed when loaded. Minimum I can do at this FSB/Multi combination. Temps max around 70C
DDR2 2.2V, 5-5-5-15 timings (still loose to find max FSB)
MCH 1.25V: 1.41V
ICHIO 1.5V: 1.70V
Vtt: 1.10 (found no difference in stability with this raised.
DDR2 Ref: 0%
ICHIO 1.05V: 1.05V
GTL refs both at 67%
Got my PWMs up to ~70C when max loaded. Think I need some spot cooling on them and the NB before I up the CPU voltage too much more.
Going to lower the multi and gun for a higher FSB. Any truth to the "FSB holes" encountered in the 430MHz area?
Dropped the multi to 8 and started bumping the FSB more.
Got to 440 stable but hard locks at 450.
Maxed out Vtt, moved ICH 1.05 to 1.09 and bumped Vcore and still locked.
*edit*
Lowered multi to 7, upped MCH to 1.44 and ICH to 1.8, lowered GTLREFs to 63%. Got to 470 stable. 475 hard locks.
*edit 2*
470 is completely stable lowering all voltages to default but leaving MCH at 1.44V. I lowered the FSB to 450 to give some headroom and am now bumping the multi higher. Lowering the voltage slowly on Vcore to see where the chip is happy. Right now I have 1.245V at 450x8, 3600Mhz.
Can I really expect to get to 500FSB if I adequately cool the NB or should I be content with 450-470?
These would appear to be my sweet spot settings:
450x8, 3600 MHz
Vcore on load: 1.205V
Vmem: 1.9V
4-4-4-12-1T timings
MCH 1.44V
GTLREF 63%
All else stock
These settings give no errors in IntelBurnTest. Temps are 60C on that program, 50C on Boinc Seti. Trying for 450x9 (4050MHz) required 1.35V and caused PWM temps to rise to 80C, CPU to 75C. Unacceptable temperatures without water cooling on CPU and air/water on Mosfets.
Considered running 4:5 or 5:6 memory timings but that will probably require loosening timings.
I'm very happy with what I've achieved today with this, but if anyone has any other suggestions for tweaking things for further gains, I'm open ears.
Hey guys
I'm new around here and i would like some of your opinion...
I have this board and the best settings i got with my Q6600 G0 are the following:
378x9 = 3.4GHz
Vcore = 1.49 BIOS 1.47 with vdrop 1.43 with vdroop
CPU VTT and all mobo voltages are default...
Reading the first ten pages of this topic (and some others, found in google), i have decided to play a bit with the mobo voltages, since you all guys said it can make the overclock more estable...
Problem is.. it didn't help me at all... I still can't make my Q6600 to fly higher without a prime failure or a blue screen... I'm getting dismotivated already...
What do you guys think? Did I reach my cpu's FSB wall?
I was thinking about making a vdroop mod in the motherboard... would it help?
Thanks..
when you move up the FSB, you must to increase MCH and ICHIO voltages (NB & SB respectivelly) too. Moreover, you must to find the best configuration of CPU VTT voltage and CPU GTLREF parameters, because they 'll help you to stabilize the system. What DDR2 voltage are you using to memories? Maybe, the DDR2 voltage isn't enough (set it at 2.1-2.2v to discard to memory inestability) and you can relax the latencies at 5-5-5-12 or 5-5-5-15 to reach the stability.
In my configuration, i found that CPU GTLREF 0&2 65% and CPU GTLREF 1&3 63% are more stable than 67% (default value). Even so i think that i'm using a vcore too high.

Anyone here have IP35 Pro + E8600?Any issue??Because AFAIK there are some issue on it.Is it true??
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work, sorry.
With the last beta BIOS downloaded from www.lejabeach.com, the ABIT SNAKE mobo 'll recognize your e8600.
you're wrong. Check The Viper 's post.

By The Viper.
Interesting. I stand corrected, my mistake. Chuck @ TRP (and abit) flashed the beta supplied by abitNL at Hexus multiple times and couldn't get his E8600 to boot. Worked fine in both a P5QE and I45. Well, glad someone got it working. All hope isn't lost OC4/3!
I'm about to upgrade my CPU from a E4300 to a Q9550. Was just wondering if anyone can PM some stable OC'ing specs to try @ speeds 3.8GHz! I'm getting the Xigmatek HS as well.
Hopefully this board isn't that dead yet, I was hoping to get alot more out if it. Just can't seem to part with Abit even though they will be parting with us soon.

Hi, this was my settings when I was at 3.8GHz:
Vcore: 1.32V
MCH:1.37V
CPU VTT: 1.13V
ICH: 1.12V
DDR2: 1.95V (4-4-4-12 1:1)
ICHIO: 1.70V
DDR2 REF: +2%
CPU GTLREF 1&3 0&2: 63%
I have done the Vdroop mod and the motherboard is fully watercooled and the processor too.
With BIOS 17 seems to be the best for that processor, temp are reported correctly as well.
With a good cooling you can reach 4Ghz without too much trouble, this motherboard is still awesome.
Enjoy your overclocking!
Thanks for posting that powerfull, I think in my case, my RAM might be my limiting factor. I know I have good RAM, but am wondering if I should go with Corsair 8500C5DF set from newegg
I was thinking of going watercooling, but seems I should just get my arse on it & do it. Now to find that vdroop mod...
This is quite a long post, can anyone give a link to stuff about that vdrop mod? I have set mine at 1.43 in bios and CPUZ shows 1.35, would like to get that minimized a bit. And I have applied real thermal paste so my warrenty is gone anyway...
For those looking for the Vdroop mod:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...5&postcount=82
I didn't do the Vcore mod only needed for extreme overcloker.
With the Vdroop mod, Vcore is very stable max is +/-0.01V variation.
Hello everyone!
I'd like to ask if I can run E8500 (E0 and C0) on my PRO version (the newest BIOS).
Does this mainboard handle Xeon E3120? Anyone?
I see a lot of posts and have a lot of questions, searching isn't helping can anyone just put up a list of processor this board actually works well with/ New Bios support?
can somebody give me a working dowbnload link for the latest abit uguru application?
please
I upgrade my IP35 Pro to 4x2GB of memory. And I'm struggling big time here.
I'm trying to use 4 sticks of Patriot Viper DDR2-1000. But I had only been running my original 2 sticks at 900MHz, since that was all I needed with my 8.5x450 Q9550 overclock.
Now with with 4 sticks it seems the most I can accomplish is 848MHz.
I tried increasing the RAM voltage to 2.3.
I tried increase the MCH to 1.56, with 1.09 ICH and 1.60 ICHIO.
I tried losening the timings to 5-6-6-18.
Tried setting the tRFC up to 56.
Looked at the other memory timings from MEMSET and applied those in the BIOS too.
Lowered my FSB and increased the memory multiplier to 1.25 while I was doing these tests and used MemTest.
Is there anything else I can try to get my 4 sticks of 1000MHz memory to at least work at 900MHz with this board?
you are tasking the board a lot with 4 x 2gb sticks with a high overclock...stick with 1:1 memory ratio; increase your ICHIO and MCH...maybe the maximum for a short time to see if that will get you over the hump.
any time you load the board up with max memory, you are stressing the limits of the MCH and CPU...some boards can handle it; i don't think the Pro is THAT capable...maybe it would do better with 4 x 1gb sticks.
The BIOS 17 seemed okay with my Q9550 E0 chip. Though I only used it about an hour while I was troubleshooting another issue.
I normally use BIOS 18 beta because it says "1. Support E0 Stepping." Though it doesn't seem to be on Abit's FTP server, but I found it here.
http://www.lejabeach.com/ABIT/IP35Pro/
The reason I asked is that I will be getting an EO stepping Q9550 soon and was thinking of giving this Abit board and E8400 to my son to upgarde his gaming rig.Looking at the Gigabyte P45-UD3P for the Quad.
Getting a Q9550 tomorrow, so I tried updating my bios from 16 to 17. What a pain in the arse!
Had no issues doing it on my bro's IP35-E a while ago using an USB floppy. But to do it on the Pro, I had to unplug all USB devices besides the USB floppy, plug in a ps/2 keyboard and enable the bios setting of USB Storage Function to get the USB floppy recognized. I spent over an hour trying different setting combination til I finally got it working.
But it's done now. Whew!
Rebels Haven posted some tests of bios 17 and 18 with a EO stepping wolfdale. says some bios setting are missing with 17.

I have a problem: motherbioard does not want to launch correctly with Abit airpace wi-fi card inserted in pci-e x1 slot . with radeon x1800 gto everything is okay
Problem only occurs when I'm using a radeon hd 4850.(reference design) The problem is: Motherboad starts, indicator shows "2b" (invoke video bios) and nothing happends.
After few reserts (2-3, may easilly go over 10 and over) motherboard finally loads and everything works fine.
wi-fi card and videocard not toches everything, nothing is short circuted etc.
Tried: different bioses (14, 16, 17 beta, 17) -same result, tried flash video bios from another manufacturer- same result, tried clear cmos, not overclocking any components, fail safe-defaults, optimized defaults, un-install all parts and install again, launcs outside of case, launch without hard-drives, launchig with no monitor connected, tried videocasd on lots of different configs(works fine, not tried with wi-fi card) etc, etc, only thing that helps completelly- removing airpace fi-fi card from system.
Even tried to send a message to abit tech support few months ago, here:

As a result-nobody answered me. Are hardware manufacturer's support teams trying to beat nvidia's record of a longest wait time for e-mail reply(which came after a NINE monts - I bougth another motherboard whith non-nvidia chipset during this time...)
hi guys
i have an Abit IP35 Pro (bios 18), C2D E8400 (Q817A229, 1.2250V VID, C0) and OCZ 4 Gb DDR2-1066 CL5 KIT. i can't overclock the processor to 4 GHz over 1.4450 VCore... :( disabled all cpu features (EIST, C1E, etc...) and i set only VCore. whats wrong?
Need some OC advise on the IP35 Pro board with E8400. I have 4GB of G-Skill Pi RAM 4-4-4-12 at 1.9V
My board and chip Oc fine to 3.2, but I would like to run 3.6 stable. I am ignorant to OC'ing and dont know where to begin. I have played with the mult and the FSB, but am lost beyond that. If anyone can give me some good pointers I would appreciate it. I don't know what voltages need to be increased or what other values to change
Thanks in advance
The ram is ddr2 800mhz 4-4-4-12 at 1.9V G-skill Pi
The ratio I believe is 67% I believe, whatever stock is. This is where I am unsure where to go
I mostly OC through Bios but here is a pic of th eAGuru utility
I have got 3.2 and was able to do 3.4 for about 5 min adjusting the mult and the fsb only. I have read that 3.6 should be easy with this chip. My problem I believe is that I dont know haw to adjust the following
CPU GTLREF (both)
VCore
MCH
I honestly just want to get 3.6 and be done with it. The comp is air cooled and I live in Phx AZ so ambient is about 70-80F, so I am not trying to break any records here. Any guidance is appreciated
I wish I was the guy above unable to get above 4.0 haha
First, your CPU : DRAM ratio is not 67%, that's your GTLREF, which you should leave alone. The ratio is not accessible through uGuru, only in BIOS. You should be able to set your CPU : DRAM ratio to 1:1, the FSB to 400 and not touch anything else, unless you have a C0 chip. Then there is the unlikely possibility that you may need some Vcore. If it's not stable by just adjusting those two, you could try increasing MCH to, say, 1.31v. Shouldn't need it, but it's possible I suppose.
Easy there killer, we want your NB to survive. Drop vMCH to ~1.44v'ish. That should be enough to get you to 445FSB. Were I to guess, you are also having a RAM issue. Drop the CPU : DRAM ratio to 1:1 for now, underclock your RAM a hair and see if your CPU will make it to 4GHz. You can worry about the RAM later.
I got to 3.6 by 400Mhz FSB, 1:1 ratio but needed to adjust the MCH to 1.29 (options where 1.29 or 1.33) I then got the BSOD again. So on a whim I upped the VCore to 1.31 and presto, it worked.
Now do I want to decrease one or both of thes until I loose stability, to find the right voltage, or just leave it? My CPU fan has gone up a notch, the temp has always read wrong on this board for me
Thanks a lot man
ariec - just a quick n' dirty...
It might help also to set your DDR2 REF at +2%, but trying the GTLREF at 67%. I get much more stability on higher GTLREF as CPU VTT and CPU Core goes up.
Right now I'm doing 458 x 8.5 @ VCore 1.38V setting (1.33V actual) everyday speed, no probs. Other values:
DDR2 - 1.9V (your RAM will vary)
MCH - 1.44
ICHIO - 1.6
CPU VTT - 1.10
DDR2 REF - +2%
ICH - 1.09
Also, try Real Temp 2.70 for better temp readings, and CPUID Hardware Monitor to check VCore values against µGuru's, though I find µGuru's to be pretty good as well.
Thanks for the advise I'll give it a try My RAM is at 1.9 (rated) and I am not trying to go above 3.6.....well maybe 3.8 :)
my problem is that I dont know what ddr2 ref or GTLREF do? all of the answers I find are not very simplified for those of us who dont work with computers for a living (or serious hobby)
I just dont want to set my VCore or MCH higher than needed for the OC as I understand it = more heat and less life
I see no diff in day to day stuff or gaming running at +3.8 GHz or a few hundred MHz less. Maybe I get a few WU's done a little quicker or what have you, but the E8400 is plenty fast at a more reasonable o/c (3.2 - 3.4). I just like to screw with settings & speeds from time to time, or to get some faster benching #'s.
Installed my Q9550 E0 tonight using Bios 17. Problem - after booting-up and going into Windows, the system shuts down b/c it reads that the cpu is at 103c. I reseated the hsf and everything is at stock. When I go into the bios, it will flash 67c for a sec but then goes straight to 103c for cpu. Is this a bios issue and maybe I should try bios 18?
edit - Upgrading to Bio 18 resolved my issues. First, it identified my cpu as a Q9550 which it didn't with bios 17. It also recognized the correct speed 2.83ghz instead of 2.89ghz. When I went to check temps in the bios, it went up to 137c for a second and almost gave me a heart attack but it then dropped down to 37c. It's frickin fast!
^ Congrats on the noo CPU!
I have an IP35 Pro with a core2duo. I had good performance until I updated the Bios to 16. The sata performance became very slow copying from drive to drive. I tried Bios 17 and have the same results.
Any suggestions ?
Running the Core Temp 0.99.3 at idle and no overclock I'm getting Tj 100C, Core 0&1 49C. No this has a big aftermarket cooler and the fan is blowing, doesn't feel warm.
It seems that I am getting a false high temp and this is throttling the cpu ?
Super pi is 25 seconds so the CPU must be fine.
The HD Tune is a pathetic 4 MB/s on any of my hard drives.
It seems that the motherboard South Bridge is bad ?
glen, I don't know what CPU/stepping you have, but I'm running fine on BIOS 16. Also, try Real Temp 2.70.
@ ariec -
Once you're stable at a decent speed, say 3.8+ @ 1.38V (in BIOS, 1.33V actual), start backing down the VCore in .01V or .02V increments until not stable. Then go back up .01V until you reach stability again.
On my Q815 (C0 stepping), I can get below 1.30V (actual) well above 3.8GHz. Your particular stepping, etc. may vary of course.
A few question here:
1:Anyone manage to get rebels heaven modded bios trd adjust and unlocked mchbar to work??
2:Anyone got some bios template for 500 5:6 divider setting? Can't seem to get it work even with 1.72vmch and using D9GKX based Xtreem 1066mhz,any pointer??
Which mod version isn't working for you? 18.ZZZ?; 17.ZZZZ?; 16.ZZZ?
I did test them all, but anything is possible! :)
Edit: "DRAM Timing Selectable" has to be set to "Manual" for Performance Level to work. MCHBAR --> "Unlock" takes affect with each cold boot.
No. "DRAM Timing Selectable" is a individual Item in all the Official BIOS that allows setting all the memory timings if you want, but it's not necessary.
So, "DRAM Timing Selectable" has to be set to "Manual" for Performance Level to work.
Also leave both "Invoke Boot Agent" set to "Enable"(that is the default)
MCHBAR is unlocked by default. I didn't make it selectable.
And, I re-tested all the .ZZZ Mod BIOS and they are all working properly on my setup which is nearly the same as yours...
Hmm..........Dram timing selectable is on manual as all of my timing is almost manually set:D
Even so,performance level is not working/
Both Invoke Boot Agent is enable but only 1 lan port is enable, could it be the reason??
I know that.Hmm,maybe i should reflash and do a cold boot, maybe doing that later.
Finally, get the rebels heaven bios to work by enable invoke boot agent:p:
Glad you got it going :)
Here's another to play with. I call it the "Strap Tweaker" BIOS. It is fully tested. There was no room for Performance Level with a quick mod....
Note: Set "DRAM Timing Selectable" to "Manual" to enable Strap Controls. Leave both "Invoke Boot Agent" Items set on "Enable".

Glad to help out and work on such a great Motherboard! It's just a shame that ABIT is falling by the wayside.....
Hi Guys
I was recommended to this thread by user in the Hexus abit forums:
I have the following specs:
Intel Quad Core Q6600 with a Scythe Ninja Plus Rev B
ABIT/IP-35 S775 MOBO (dark raider)
Enermax 650w infinti PSU
4GB (2x2GB) Corsair TwinX XMS2
XFX Geforce 8800 Ultra
Ive had it since the start of the year and it works absolutely fine with one small problem that ive just been living with.
The computer will not shutdown. Ever. It just restarts everytime (via dual boot). Ive become used to just switching the power off at the mains when i shutdown, but this cause problems with dates and times and is just plain annoying.
I read in a similar thread that the infiniti and ip35 dont work together. Has anyone else got this combo and problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?
I have the latest (18) bios too.
I just want the damn thing to switch off when im done.
Any help you can offer would be great.
Cheers
Anyone think this board can do 600FSB PL9 or PL10??
Trying tomorrow:D

Hey all,
I just bought 8gb of ram to replace my current 4gb. It's 2 4gb (2x2GB) sets of ram.
Here it is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220335
Here's the "review" that encouraged me to buy it: http://www.anandtech.com/guides/showdoc.aspx?i=3476&p=3
My problem is that I can't even get my box to boot with one single stick in any slot. Even if I reset the BIOS, set the RAM voltage to 2.2, speed to 800mhz and timings to 5-5-5-15. All I get is a C1 error code and a long beep that lasts about 1 second and repeats.
Any ideas? I've tried everything to just get 1 stick to boot, let alone 4.
Thanks,
-Keetha
I have IP-35 Pro, BIOS 16, and Infinity 720. Never had any prob with not shutting down like you describe, but you have the vanilla model IP-35. The Infiniti's are somewhat picky about the power they're fed too, so make sure your AC ground is good, etc. It also could be defective. Have you thought about RMA?
I have an IP35 PRO (Not XE) and I have been "given" a QX9770..
Yes it is a hard life. Can I et these to work together or do I need a new mainboard? Thanks for your help...
The QX 9770 will work on the IP-35 Pro, but you'll have the 1333 FSB speed of the Pro, not the full 1600 MHz of the CPU.
I have an ip35 pro with enermanx infinity 650 and bios ver.17 and I don't have any shutdown problems. The system turns off and then on for ~ 10 sec, depending on psu temperature (Enermax CoolGuard) and finally turns-off completely. Maybe is samething else that cause your problem. Did you try another psu?
Hey all!
I'm glad I found this board of ABIT IP35 PRO gurus. :) Can you help out a little bit of a return-newbie to this mobo?
I have a system I put together some time ago. I went with a bit of a minimalist approach and did not use the Quick-Install function on the included CD. Instead, I opted to install drivers one at a time, manually, with updated ones I found.
The user is not using RAID. The SATA drives worked just fine without any drivers. Windows Update picked up the RealTek Ethernet Driver. And Windows also picked up an HD Audio Driver that worked fine--can't remember if I installed the RealTek one or not with the extra options. In other words, I THINK all I installed was the chipset driver...
I've since been working with other boards and have come back to this one and can't remember for the life of me which of all these drivers I used or didn't use. I was hoping someone could help me out and give me sort of the "noob-look" at each of these drivers and why or why not I should consider getting them installed.
I checked the main ABIT site and grabbed all the updated stuff:
- INTEL Application Accelerator RAID Driver - I don't think this should be needed... no RAID is being utilized... only 1 hard drive anyways.
- INTEL Chipset Driver - The main mobo driver... handles all the USB and stuff too... installed. The ABIT site lists v9.0.0.1007 but I grabbed 1008 off this site.
- Intel RAID/AHCI Installation Disk - I'm not even sure what this is.. but it seems related to RAID.. so I skipped it.
- JMicron RAID/AHCI Installation Disk - The same thing.. but for JMicron.. not sure what that means.. but skipped it too.
- JMicron SATA Driver - All the HDDs are working fine... I skipped this because I'm not sure it's needed...
- Realtek High Definition Audio Driver - Skipped so far, since the audio is working great. Does installing it get you anything other than some fancy effects software? I notice R190 on the abit site, R196 posted here.
- Realtek LAN Driver - This isn't even on the ABIT site... but Windows Update picked it up.. so I assume it should be all set.
- Intel Matrix Storage Manager - I notice this topic also lists this thing... no idea what this is, but I have not installed it.
- uGuru - Lastly, uGuru... I remember the last time I did NOT install this, and device manager had an error because of uguru on the board.. I ended up finding a way to install the driver and NOT the software, and can't remember for the life of me how it was done.
FYI this system is on Vista Ultimate 32-bit, with an nVidia 8800 GT.
All I really appreciate you helping me out. Ya'll are the best. :) :D
You need nothing from the above list...Maybe you should just update the sound driver since the last is around version 2.11.

Never install μGuru...on of the :banana::banana::banana:tiest software I have ever used....
Well I was looking for some more info really on what each thing really is for... it seems there are too many RAID things going on there... and what is even the purpose of the SATA driver?
You say I need nothing but it seems I would at least need the chipset driver.
Any word on how to install the board uguru driver without installing the software? (to fix the unknown device in device manager)
Thanks
You would need JMicron Sata drivers if you used e-sata devices. Since you have no raid array you need no drivers for it. Raid installation disk are needed when you want to install windows on the array.
Just instal mGuru but I suggest to never run it.
Ah ok.. so JMicro SATA Drivers are for e-sata.. Good to know :)
Ok, so there's the RAID drivers to set it up.. And the install disk if you need to start up RAID right from the get-go and put Windows on it. Gotcha.
mGuru? Or uGuru? Not sure if that was a typo… I know for a FACT that I was able to install the uguru board driver WITHOUT the craptastic application last time. Maybe if I try to manually update the driver from Device Manager and point it toward the uGuru installation files?
Ok. I have problem after installing my new q9550 E0 and updating the bios to 18 beta. I can't enter the bios setup. The only way for me to enter the bios is to use clear cmos first.
