Ok here is a succesfull pass at 4.5 full memory at the lowest volts i could get. I tried with HT on but my water setup wont handle it.

^^
Try dropping your CPU PLL voltage down to 1.425v. It will drop your cpu temps considerably, and will probably get you a higher stable clock.
I tried dropping CPU PLL. I dont have 1.425 in bios. Anything lower then 1.8 are whole numbers i.e. 1.7, 1.6, 1.5, 1.4. I have selected 1.4 cpu pll. Also I droped qpi Pll to 1.2 as im sure that was not need and lover looked while I was trying things. Booted into windows and make 1 pass and bsod with a 124 error. I bumped up vtt 1 click and retesting again.
^^
The default for QPI PLL should be 1.1v. As a rule both the QPI PLL and IOH Vcore should both be set to the same voltage.
Sometimes both need to be set to 1.4v/1.425v, especially when above 200 BCLK.
Ok so your saying set cpu pll to 1.4v and QPI pll and IOH core should be set the same 1.1v and keep the same when raising them?
Edit - I reread your statement and understand what your saying.
pll voltage depends on ure ram speed ure running
so ultimately depending on ure ram multi
1.65v is still good up to 2160 bclk 216..
but temps difference.. dont think so..

I would of thought you should be able to do the same clock with HT on as well ?

Read the rules.
Updated, but the next time make sure to complete at least 20 passes. I'll make an exception, pretty sure you'll be back with a better submission. ;)
Also, do you only have 3GB of RAM? Using just 2560MB is kind of weak, tbh.
Added, welcome!
thanks kitfit1  havent tried as i use ht off
cheers zalbard, seems like theres abit of confusion as i noticed a few other submissions accepted running the 20th loop so i assumed that was how the rules read.. no worries next time il run an extra loop :)
yeah i rather do other stuff than watch linx , thats overkill for me anyway.. ie. nothing crashes

@kill a wat - very nice! - nice low temps!
what is your ambient?
Cheers :) unsure about ambient but it is pretty cool in Sydney at the moment definetly below 20 deg. Bought the CPU second hand and it was also the coolest running of 3 980s ;)
I know it is out-of-date for Bloomfield, but I'm afraid I won't have a chance here for Westmere:shrug:
4606.6 = 219.4x21 @1.3625v, water cooled, rampage iii extreme
220+ bclk on R3E results in weird graphics corruption and corrupted gpu<->host bandwidth:down: which never happened on UT or UD7.
CPU seems fine and might get a bit further though.

Nice formatting! You're in!
0.15ish difference isn't huge, though, nothing to be worried about, it's normal, and is actually worse for most boards. Nice run!
Any idea what batch number you have? Your vCore is VERY low for these clocks!

@OC Nub - congrats, very nice temps for 4.8!
Thank you Jor. You know you are welcome to that chip anytime you like.
I'm tempted to make an i5 system now with the guise of being an "HTPC" ...that just happens to go up to 4.8ghz lol.
This run was with HT disabled and a cheap 2x1gb kit. After 4950mhz it is very hard to pass with any reasonable voltage, I switched to 2x1gb because I was afraid of killing this poor chip with 1hr+ runs and I have reached the limits of my cooling using HT

We will see :)
Always fun to play with new toys, I am having an additional 80 amp service run into my computer lab tomorrow.
SteveRo,that is sweet.looks like you will be doing some damage now.
we might need to change this to the 4.8GHz and up Linx stable club:D:
Thanks radaja - we will see, hopefully I have a good subzero chip
Just so you know I'll be in Germany for 2 weeks starting from Saturday.
Not sure when / if I can keep the thread updated during these two weeks. I'll do my best to try and find an opportunity!
Keep submitting your results by any means, though! :D
Could only manage 2 cores stable in this heat on my new i7, but 4.5GHz, 20 passes was what I managed in this ridiculous ambient temp of 35°C! Hopefully I'll be fitting a new mcp355 with a split xspc reservoir in a couple of weeks, and I've been in desperate need of a pump with higher delivery head than a measily 1.2m so I hope this will make all the difference and I can return with 4 cores soon:
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...Linxstable.jpg
BTW, anyone had a false error like this?:
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z.../linxerror.jpg
Nice run In-Fluence. Have you tried lowering CPU PLL to 1.40v?
Linx gets flaky sometimes, I have had weird errors also, and had it say finnished without error when the program stopped responding and failed.
Yeah, lowering pll seems to help my stability in Linx, but makes it worse in P95 - I'm yet to test this further, but it's what I found so far - anyone else?
I'm not really a fan of linx as although it's a nice, quick test for stability during extreme loads it doesnt have the in-depth testing P95 offers imo. Still, things could be a lot different for i7, and am still learning :)
First shot on water with my chip, batch is 3003B466 again.
very nice OC Gautam.you have a great chip there:up:
@Gautam - very nice!
you have better vcore than what I had for about the same oc - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=321
you have much better gflops!
i might of had memory and uncore real low - qpi was for sure (2574).
looks like you have a very good chip!
extremely good I think, an excellent H20 chip :yepp:
Thanks guys, chip definitely seems to be a keeper. I'm very pleased with the gains I'm seeing from air to water, almost 15C across all cores. I still have the mem relaxed so the gflops can actually be much higher. The loop is an OCZ hydropulse 800, Apogee XT, MCR220 and MCR320 with SL Yates in push/pull. The rad setup is overkill for the moment because I'll be adding gpu's shortly, so the temps will surely go up after that. For the time being though it's fun to let the CPU loose.
P.S. I bet 4.8 wouldn't be much of an issue with a bit of a voltage bump, but I think I'll stop here. Don't feel comfy with 1.5v unless its subambient.
My i3's... (will add batch info later).
First one i3 530 C2 - great at core clocking, bclk is ok, 238 max with 4gb. Went through 6 cpu's to get this one, so I guess it can be considered a "good" one. Doesnt do well with 8gb though, 205bclk max and 4.4ghz max. GA-P55-UD5 w/4gb G.Skill Eco and Zalman 9300AT.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...hzhtstable.jpg
Second one is my VM server - i3 550 KO. This one is my first KO, no idea how it stacks up compared to others. A few notable improvements over C2, bclk is excellent, up to 244 stable with 8gb and 255 bclk with 4gb. Vtt requirement is much lower (0.15v) than all my C2 i3s. Memory stability when using 10x is much improved - 2000mhz with 8gb is now possible, none of my 530's can do this 24/7 stable. As with other i3's though they turn into heat monsters if you give them over 1.5 vcore. This is cooled by a Titan Fenrir v1 with fan on max (2250rpm). Tests under liquid over the next month (mega busy with work - this has taken me weeks so far ).
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...le4600HTon.jpg
Im very impressed at these i3's in linx. Theyre matching and beating 4ghz+ Q9xxx cpus. Very impressive for what is essentially a dual.
well i just ordered another 530 so i hope i get the newer KO.
very nice results PiLsY

I am very tempted to throw this one under water, but I think I can get 5 ghz on air linx stable with some more work.
yep no problems...had a look at his previous post :) Umm temps were around the mid 60s from memory but it is cold outside like 15c here at the moment so that definetly helps. Will try different bclk combos to see if I can get it down. But definetly lower vcore needed for lower bclk from fiddling so far. I need to buy a DMM :p: Lowest I got 4.62Ghz Linx 15 run @ 1.425v at present
And Gautam's chip @ 4.7 at his volt is unbeatable H20 at least for my poor 980 lol that vcore is just too low
@ l0ud_sil3nc3 - 4.8 - very nice clocks! These i5s look to be really nice clockers if they all turn out to be as good as yours.
Is intel burn in test acceptable in place of the normal linx run? - Zalbard will be back soon.
5ghz on air would be amazing - i don't think I have seen it yet (linx stable).
@Kill a wat - very nice temps! I wish we had some of your cool weather - we are sweltering in the DC area.
Seems like the new 650's are especially strong. I got one from microcenter around launch, and it needed 1.45v just to pass OCCT at 4.6GHz. :-/ Probably would've needed the same for linpack at 4.5...made me lose some faith in the 32nm chips at the time. Now they're definitely looking like a cut above the Wolfdales.
I've been doing this for about 7 years now, and not once until now have I had anything near the "unbeatable" chip :p:...I think I've been long overdue :)
I'm looking seriously at an SS setup. I notice your temps read -6. Are those values the actual numbers to expect compared to what the Evap head actually reads. The numbers there are widely documented as -40 to -45.
Hope I'm making sense. It just seems I'm missing something.
Thanks OC Nub it worked like a charm!
http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/4029/i5661air.th.jpg
Very nice Jor.
Nice results everyone.
My evap idles at -54c and goes up to -51c under full load at 5ghz HT on.
There is only one reason that it is showing as -6c in Real Temp, that is because i'm running CPU PLL at 1.2v as opposed to 1.425v or even the 1.8v that you see peeps running. This only applies when i'm running Linx. If i run Prime Blend at 5ghz, then CPU PLL needs to be at 1.425v and the load temps in Real Temp then show as 10c/8c/8c/4c. This then shows a Delta of 61c under full load at 5ghz HT on. But of course the evap is still at -51c, which shows that even at this load the SS is coping easily with the load and can handle more.
Hope that clears things up for you a bit Norman.

Very nice charlie, looks like your new build is doing well.
Been working my arse off for the last 72 hours to improve - ended up tearing down my loop, running an 8400GS on air instead of the GTX260s and using the 360 and 240mm rads for just the cpu. Moved the pc outside, ghetto rigged 3 x sanyo denki 360cfm (4.2amps@12v) fans to the 360. Gflops are actually lower than some of my other runs - I've seen 71gflops when running memory at cas 8 2000mhz+.
Anyway - VERY pleased with the result. Even beat one of the SS guys - only by 0.5mhz though :D. Same hardware as before, memory @ 6x, uncore @ 12x and qpi @ 18x. Tried my hardest for more but there's just no more left in it. Maybe in winter I can squeeze another 25-30mhz. I really wanted to get 2nd place off Anth Seebel, but its just not going to happen - can't get that last 15mhz without lower temps. Took 3 attempts to get this run to complete, it definitely wouldnt do 30 loops. As soon as any core hits 96c linx errors/freezes.
