Hi bingo13 -- I have two thoughts for my P6T Deluxe V2:
1 - Any chance that the new version will enable the BIOS to display actual settings next to Auto
2 - Will we see settings for target CPU and RAM speed entries, letting the BIOS do the rest? :-)

Any news on the Rampage II Gene cold boot fix? I am on 1307 and it is still not fixed, this is the only major bug left on this board AFAIK and I will be a happy Asus customer ;).
Well I have been running my computer at stock speeds for the past year and I always crash once every 2 weeks or so. It's prime stable though and RAM seems to be fine. I haven't RMA this board because this is the only computer I have for post-secondary school work and everything else.
But since BIOS 1307, it works fine if I don't cold boot. So recently I came across the post in the Asus forum where people claim to still have cold boot issues at stock and at overclocked speeds.
Cold boot basically means you were using your computer without rebooting once after Windows is loaded. So After I turn on my computer and Windows is loaded, I reboot, load Windows and then use my computer and I experience no crash.
I usually just hibernate if I want to turn my computer off, and that has been working fine for months. So obviously it doesn't seem like a hardware problem to me but just need BIOS to correct the issues. So maybe it is an issue with memory compatibility. I have done everything to narrow down to either it's an issue with this board or my OCZ Reaper 1866 and seems most likely is this board. Very disappointing for a motherboard I paid $330 back in 2009.
Bingo13, any chance Asus to release an improved BIOS for Rampage II Extreme?? (Updated Intel Option ROM, Loadline memory feature, Performance enhancements) and AISuite II - X-Fi MB2 support?? Asus has forgot the R2E owners I think ...
Update -
Sorry about the delays as a few press events have kept me on the road. We should have a patch shortly for the P6T/980X owners, new Rampage III Extreme Performance BIOS, and a few P55/H55 updates.
maybe before weekend is comming
thx bingo13
Any place we can request features and have a decent chance of them showing up?
I just switched back to an ASUS board (P6TD Deluxe) for my primary system and was unpleasantly surprised how many features the BIOS (and other, cross-flashed BIOSes) is lacking relative to my Gigabyte X58s that are nearly 100 dollars cheaper.
Some things I miss:
- options for voltages below stock, especially on CPU PLL
- higher granularity on ICH voltages
- fully manual input of memory timings, so I don't have to cycle through a list, and can achieve better granularity
- option to completely remove/disable turbo throttling
- CPU fan speed control by voltage, not just PWM
