Add support for P35 in this version: memset
Very special thank at The Stilt for his work on this version: :)
He help me to find some timings location (tCL & tRAS are not documented),
found the fix for Asus motherboard, and work actually for add other timings like CR
and latency. We will probably add these timings in final version...
Also I add Precharge to Precharge delay on 9xx chipsets...
Note that it's a beta,so possible bug...
let me be the say to give you the big
I shall try on MSI P35 Neo-F ;)
It works on MSI P35 Neo-F but I can't change CAS and I hope it was purposely done :) Basic functions operates fully properly. Thanks a lot! :D
Work great on P5K Deluxe.
Thanks alot!
Does mem set work on p35 chipset ?
Thanks a lot Felix & The Stilt

nice. how's that biostar board? I'm thinking of picking one of them up. real cheap as always :)
edit: bleh, just checked out the discussion on rh forums. not that impressive :\
Thanks you to all who made the latest version possible.
thanks a lot to Felix and Stilt for this..
Can't wait to try it on my DS3R
In my Gigabyte P35-DQ6 I am not able to change the CAS, other options do work.
Thanks Felix!
I don't think CAS change in windows as ever worked on any board..
I have a problem with memset 3.3 beta after flashing me P35C board.
With bios F1 memset worked fine and i got the mchbar option:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...memsetP35C.jpg
After flashing to F3b bios i cannot change any timing (system hangs when i hit apply) and i do not have the mchbar option anymore. Same settings as above except for tRRD:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...F3bmemset3.jpg
I removed & reinstalled memset but no luck. Whats new in F3b bios is this perf option (tried all 3 with same result) and a new divider, 3.20 (5/8):
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6..._oc/F3beta.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v636/loc_oc/3.jpg
 could you try this version: memset
For mchbar, it's normal that it's not appear, I disabled it...
P35 Tweaked , really ROX :D
Thanks Felix !

On 3.3 beta is present in my Gigabyte P35-DQ6 an annoying change of displayed memory MHz in the "System" rectangle.
It changes randomly between 3 values: one is correct, others are wrong.
Bye,
Thank you FELIX, works good :)
Here is beta2 version with Performance Level (by The Stilt): MemSet33beta2
We added Command Rate too, but it's only a Read only timings.
Also, improve reading memory frequency. :)
Warning: I don't try the Performance Level with P965, and I don't know the result.
I'm going to try this on p965 right now :)
But so far, I've noticed trtp is reading wrong. I have dfi p965, and set trtp to 4 in bios. memset32 shows 4, but 33b2 shows 2 only.
performance level seems to have no effect. not sure if it's because it's read only or what. but it showed 12 initially. I was able to drop it all the way to 1, and mbench showed no differences whatsoever.
range from 1-12
edit: also it looks like trtp is off by 2. When I set it from 2 to 4 in 33b2, it goes from 4 to 6 in 32.
thanks for the new version.
but it donīt read the memory frequency:
http://pics.mwirths.de/pics/memset.jpg
Asus P5K Deluxe
FSB 500
MEM 600
Doesn't work on p965 ... Tried with commando . I can select from 1 to 12 without lock ups , but the performance doesn't change .
On GA-P35-DQ6 performance level works perfectly.
From level 7 (my first stable setting at 390 MHz FSB) to level 12 there is more than 20% difference in everest memory and cache benchmark.
The strange thing is that at first launch of memset it displayes 11 as performance level even if the real performance level is 8 (checked with everest benchmark)
Is it possible to save a memory configuration and load as soon as memset starts?
Or do it by a command level start?
Works fine, great option and thanks a lot
Lowest i can get is 5 (+0.3 vMch). P35C bios F3b. Settings from bios:
Default = 8
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...c/default8.jpg
Performance = 6
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v636/loc_oc/perf6.jpg
Performance = 5
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v636/loc_oc/perf5.jpg
Felix I can't get the performance level to even read a # on my P965-DS3 board. When I open memset it has no value for the performance level and if I try to change it the apply button is grayed out.
Felix the latest Beta ( v3,3 Beta 2 ) isn't working with Asus P5K3 Deluxe at all ( it's a DDR3 P35 board ).
Here's a pic
http://i8.tinypic.com/521wgpk.jpg
Let me know if I can help you with something :)
dunno if it has been posted or not..but this program works on my 680i mobo.
Beta 2 works on Asus P5K Deluxe, Performance Level is also working.
Thanks to both you and the Stilt :)
Will soon be writen Vista 64bit version?
dlin that tool..
I confirm that it don't runs with DDR3
Gigabyte P35T-DQ6
I didn't check if the timings are being set actually, but after a fresh OS install, the apply button is now enabled @ P5K3 Deluxe.
Will test it in a matter of hours and report back Felix ;)
Found out that if you boot with "DDR2-like" like timings on the P5K3 Deluxe ( probably applies to other DDR3 mobos as well ) ( timings like 7-6-6-15 ) [ tCL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS ] lets you use memtest ( performance level changing works perfectly ) [ haven't tested the timings thoroughly yet )
Hello m8,excellent tool.Probably in the next beta the SAVE option will be available,so that it could be applied at system start-up.My mainboard is a p35-dq6.Thanks.
Performance level works now on my Gigabyte P965-DS3/S3 Rev 1 C1. The only time it doesn't work is if the divider is set to 1:1 with Cas 5. It's very hard to change levels downward from original, usually instantly freezes. At 451mhz FSB it boots at Level 12.
Has anyone found that giving the mch more voltage allows them to select a lower performance level?
Gonna test the new beta on P965 now :D
Hutch, I once tried give more vmch on P35-DS3R, and I was able to lower PL to 6, before I was stuck at PL7. Usually set my PL to 6 made my systems instantly freeze.
Gonna try again later.
Tried it myself also. Level 9 used to make it my system freeze (P965-S3) on FSBs over 400 with max voltage in bios (+.3V) I hooked up a 10K VR and brought it to 1.7V. Not only did level 9 work at 425mhz FSB but Level 8 was stable also. Haven't gotten around to trying anything lower yet.
I ran my good 'ole benchmark script to compare game performance when moving to performance level 8 from 9. Here are the results:
Performance level 9:

Wow.... I cant believe how slow Anus and gigabyte are setting thier boards... I dont think Ive ever seen Performance level 8 on my board at any fsb, its always between 5 and 7:D .... I use memset all the time and never had a successful change, I guess Abit sets it at lowest possible all the time :)
I've seen Performance Level 4 on the P5K3 Deluxe, and 6 regularly.
lol
Dividers/FSB/Memory timings, all can change they PL level running on P5K.
Dont get me wrong, the P5K is a very nice board but after how their CS treated me with my commando Id rather not buy a board than give them my business.... Id be using a P5K if that didnt happen.... but thats another story lol...
The Performance level is the Static read control register, nothing more.
We also may be seeing 965 having the table a little messed up, i talked to Oskar and he is putting it into the dark bios
So i take it being able to set PL 5 (down from 8) on the sig-rig is good, with only +.1v mch, nb?
Final version: MemSet33
-Add support for P35 chipsets.
-Add some timings on 650/680i chipsets.
-Improve readings memory frequency with s.775 CPU.
-"About" Panel was changed: supported by Abit now. :)
I don't add Performance Level on 965 chipsets for now, and waiting for more info
before add this feature on this chipsets, but I let the beta2 (included PL on 965P) in line.
Tell me if you find bug with this version...
thanks. is there a way to allow it to change cas latency for non965/35 chipsets?
It's not possible to change #cas under Windows on DDR2.
I added some value in the final version->DDR3 have very hight timing (9.9.9.21)
Normally it's work.
Save function work on final version too.
...ask it at The Stilt. :)
when I run MemSet First time after loading XP it show me all correct timings look :
First Run :
http://i16.tinypic.com/6aujb7d.jpg
but When I Exit from MemSet with no change at all and run it again I see this :
Second Run :
http://i17.tinypic.com/6f7e837.jpg
and I have to restart my PC after boot again for first time only it show me correct timings!
I test MemSet 3.2 and 3.3 even betas but all of them have this problem
My system info is in my rig
any solution?
don't click on exit button but rather than X in top right corner
that should keep things correct
uncheck lock mchbar
Restart your system, run memset and unchek "lock mchbar"
felix should we unchek "lock mchbar" for p35 chipset also?
nice job btw thank you again to you n stilt:up:
...only if you have the same problem than HamidFULL (read post #575)
For the Write Recovery time and the write to Read delay, bios and memset are right; I explain:
Write Recovery time and Write to Read delay are internal dram timing.
There values are usually 3 to 8 for Write Recovery time and 2 to 6 for Write to Read delay.
But memset don't report these value, memset report Write to Precharge delay and Write to Read command delay.
Here is how these value are calculated by the chipsets:
Write to Precharge = Cas - 1 +BL/2 + tWR.
Write to read command = Cas - 1 +BL/2 + tWTR.
BL(Burst Lenght) practically always 8.
tWR(Write recovery time) is 3 for ddr or ddr2/400 and 4 for ddr2/533, 5 for ddr2/667-800.It's can vary.
For example, If your have ddr2/533 and your Cas latency is 4,Write Precharge = 4 - 1 + (8/4) + 4 = 11.
It's the reason that memset report higher values than the bios.
You can see here at page 114 for Intel explanations.
anyone else notice how if you change the memory ratio from 4:5 to 5:6 the performance level changes from 7 to 10. Then if you change it from 5:6 to 1:1, the performance level jumps to 11. This was all @ 490MHz FSB on a P35-DQ6.
EDIT: On a hunch i did some more testing.
I booted to 400MHz FSB with memory @ 1:1, Performance Level was 11. Booted to 515MHz with memory @ 1:1, Performance Level was still 11. Booted to 515MHz FSB with memory @ 5:6, Performance Level dropped to 10. Booted to 400MHz FSB 5:6, Performance Level was also 10.
So I do not believe the FSB has anything to do with the strap change on the P35-DQ6, just the memory ratio. Kind of odd through that 1:1 would be a higher Performance level over 4:5 though.
1:1 and 5:6 are part of 333strap. 4:5 is part of 266strap.
Don't know if it is a memset bug or gigabyte bug but on p35 DS3r it shows weird 'Write to precharge' and 'write to read delay' timings, completely different from those set in bios.
When set to Auto, they seem fine
If I remember right the same thing happened to old DS3 965
kiwi=> read post #583, make the calculation, and tell us the result. :)
Felix Memset wont repor DDR3 MHz on Gigabyte P35T DQ6, how can i help you to fix this?
Report nothing, or wrong value?
I send you a PM.
It's the bios. The bios engineers screwed up pretty badly and they still haven't figured it out. They didn't change the calculations in the bios from the way they have the stupid (+.1V +.2V +.3V) things. When you set one of those values in the bios, it ADDS whatever you set it to to the default value.
For example, write to precharge is default at 5 in bios. If you select 11 for the value, memset will tell you that it's really 16, because it is.
Felix, have you fixed the 1:1 cas 5 on p965 boards? The PL worked on my board, just not with 1:1 cas 5.
you move from andover??
Program doesn't detect my IP35 chip (Abit IP35-E). Anyone with a fix or link to a good download?
TIA,
F
=>Hutch:I add some values in PL on this version, not sure that it's enought.
=>furbally: save a register dump (with cpu-z->last table->register.txt) and send it at: memset@hotmail.fr
Running now after downloading the latest version. Is there an instruction manual?
TIA,
F
=metro.cl, hutch: use this version: MemSet33
