Are there any results with quads yet?
I don't have a Quad yet, I thought I saw something about it but not sure.. There should be a few people with quads to test it soon.
According to the Egg, They have an item number, but can't list until the warehouse has them logged in. According to DFI delivery was 30 apr, which I confirmed with the Egg. The Egg also said that if the CA warehouse does not have enough room ( how much room can 45 boards take?! ) they will be sent to either TN or NJ.
Definitely not inbuilt flash though, as the 5D doesn't have one :D
Judging by the histograms of mr yang's shots he also has a very good eye (or took a LOT of shots at different apertures) as he hasn't used exposure compensation. Perhaps he can vary the intensity of the flash.
Back on topic, I'm definitely getting one of these to replace my lackluster AW9D which seems limited at 350FSB on my E4300 even on the 1333 strap. Maybe should sell the CPU as well and get an E6420... hmmm
Ninjalane seemed to like the motherboard. Here's the review link:

Honestly...any review site with the word "Ninja" in their naming scheme must be trustworthy.
Btw, everyone who is about to order from the 'egg, in order to quickly get into the ordering servers you should press ALT-F4 right before checking out. I've had other people do this numerous times, and its really helped ME be the first to order. :slap:
Andre was suppose to report in about quad core back on page 14
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...139778&page=14
but he got bearlake so you can forget about it ;) He has too many toys to play with now :(
Tony has found some nice memory performance for 2mb cache cpu's...

Still nothing at the egg..c'mon!
they wont last 30 minutes!
Haha, I am!
Probably all boards will go in like 5-10 mins max.
Well I hope everyone here gets one of the first batch! :toast:
BTW, what's the best way to monitor the Egg for new stuff... I'm a noob at shopping there... I just keep searching for "DFI 680".
first tab, refresh every so often. heh heh product lust! Gotta get to building, this is effecting my schedule.
I really dont know why i'm so worried about it. Me EVGA is perfect.. No issues. Yet i bought Eyeborgs DFI and i'm still monitoring the egg every 5 minutes. I also have a pre-order in at excaliber. I think i'll cancel that one though.
Since some are guessing sell out time, lets do price as well. I say $359..
I think $329USD
The eggs prices seem to go up when the demand rises. Remember the striker was 399 at one time and iirc it may have been up to 419. I sure hope its 269 but i doubt it. the DFI icfx3200 is still 249. I remember somebody mentioning earlier in this thread that cost on this 680i board was 260. If that was correct, they probably wont sell it for under 300.
I wonder who does their research and if they subscribe this forum. hehe
I think maybe around $189 to compete with Evga. Yeah that would be a good move.
Is there a list price for it anywhere?
That was a wishful thinking joke at the high price guesses. I'm sure it will float around three bills.
I can't believe the Egg hasn't posted it yet!
What's the easiest/best way to see the most recent additions on the Egg site?
I've got three browser searches refreshing. 1) DFI Intel Compatable motherboards Socket 775, 2) 680i LT, 3)DFI.
I just got an email from DFI today saying this will be out Friday 5/4. Weird.
-Collin-
I'm watching The GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY. Clint Eastwood really does kick arse.
I doubt DFI wouldn't let the motherboard release until Friday.
Had anyone confirmed Newegg actually has received a shipment of 680i LT's?
Someone on the last page indicated they talked to Newegg by phone and that they were received yesterday.
Newegg will never give information on new products pending and they are firm on this. :fact:
Maybe Friday makes sense as I hear the NDA for ATI's new R600 is lifted tomorrow (5/2) so maybe this week will just be a frenzy of crazy new releases! :)
If the availability of this board is similar to the 965-S, I'm going to stay away from DFI complete. I hate this game. Only 45 boards to newegg? What a joke.
-Collin-
Well, I guess it's not going to happen today... It's now just about 5PM on the west coast and still no sign of the board on Newegg. :(
Sooo......I found a place where you can order it, and it ain't the 'Egg. Though it doesn't say if it is in stock. They have a DFI Infinity P965S motherboard coming in the "2nd week of May" so thats probably when the DFI 680i LT will come too.
The website lists it at $289.99
So ~$289.99 for the board. This is from www.atacom.com.
look at reseller ratings, atacom is know for saying they have products in stock when in fact they do not and saying it will arrive on X date and then keep pushing the date forward
just for your info
After e-mailing DFI inquiring about this motherboard I was referred to motherboardpro.com by them. I talked to an employee at motherboardpro.com earlier. He told me that they are receiving about 40 units on Thursday (5/3/07) and that they would ship out on Friday (5/4/07). I did place a pre-order with them as I do not have time to watch newegg all week, studying for finals week. So for anyone that can't get one from the newegg batch, motherboardpro.com will them them also.
Sorry, I'm not an employee. Anyways, I was just informing you guys.
Damn $419 in AU  :slapass:
ya i've been keeping a close eye on newegg... that's an understatement really.
but i've started buying parts so i can't miss this first 45 batch.
hopefully there's only a couple of us who really want it on here right ?? =/
Nice, you all getting one? Thats great, sure is nice to look at.
count me in also> Been waiting! Someone buy 2 boards and keep one for me!
I'm gonna pass on this shipment and wait for the one in 2 weeks. Frank Wong has guaranteed me a board in that one. So I ordered the e6600 this week from the Egg (arriving today) and will try to figure out which video card to get next week. I really look forward to the feedback on this board. Plus I'm way too much of a noob to tackle this one without you to guide me through it;)
:slobber: :slobber: Lets start the watch all over again boys and girls..;)
I was targetting this board but with the arrival of P35 chipset I will aim for Asus P5K. Newer chipset is pretty much faster and will ship tomorrow. I will not wait for an out of date chipset, even if brough by DFI.
DFI is loosing the run on the boards market (which I am very sad with).
DFI referred my phone number to motherboardpro dot com as well and an employee called me. While he may be an employee, I spoke with him and he was polite and will have these boards in stock. $315.99 is a little out of my price range. The 965-S is going for $159.99 if anyone wants to pay $10 over what ewiz was selling them for.
As you all know, I'm not an employee there. :)
-Collin-
Wow. I guessed $329, I'm closest, so I Win!
Who's gonna send me one of these boards since I won?
;-)
Yea, thats true. Let's hope the egg doesn't gouge like usual.
morning everyone. Count me in as another who wants the DFI 680i LT.
I'm actually getting my evga 680i board today. woohoo. But I won't be testing it until tonight.
dfi 680i....the board i wanted 4 months ago :brick: :bsod:
I agree for many.. But for me, my 3rd PCI-E video card is blockin the air intake on my upper 8800GTX and it now runs 12-15c hotter than the lower 8800. The DFI has a little different PCI/PCI-E configuration which would put the 3rd video card at the very bottom leaving plenty of breathing room for the 88's. also the 2 extra SATA ports are BIG for me. I really do not expect the DFI to perform "better" than the EVGA, I just hope its as good. In my opinion, the EVGA pwns every other 680i out right now. I haven't owned all the other 680i's while they had their most mature bios, but i have owned them all. I went back to the EVGA every time. SOoo, If you do not need the extra 2 SATA ports, and the PCI/PCI-E layout is ok for you, then i would also recommend the EVGA. A1 or T1 of course.
Warranty and accesories. A1 has better of both.
Thanks nugzo.
This really is a tough decision on the DFI board with P35 being so close. I really don't know much about that new chipset, but I know enough to wonder if a 680i LT chipset board is worth $320.
-Collin-
In an interesting turn of events, www.motherboardpro.com is now listed as one of DFI's "Resale Partners".
Isn't this just some little mom and pop etailer?
some news from France :
it seems mobo will be released 15 may here ...
AFAIK, Bingo13 is a reviewer at AnandTech... I would like to know what he knows about this board.
From what I've heard the quad-core overclocking and memory performance is not the best on this board but they are still working on bios tweaks - so there is still hope. If this hope has evaporated and/or there are new issues, then I'd like to know ASAP.
Roger That. Me too
I'm in this for the move to SLI so P35 is of no interest. I just hope the DFI engineers have learned form the competitors mistakes and that it's a solid bios from the get go.
I'm out, Hardware is gone and Laptop is one click away. I feel dirty...
off topic but what about this alienware lappy I'm thinking of oredering today to take with me to Kosovo in a couple weeks..

Dude, best of luck.
For what it's worth, I have an Asus gaming laptop with a 17 monitor and I gotta say I love it. I replaced the stock 1gb with 2gb Gskill 667 and flashed to a better bios. The video card's a mobile ATI 1600 tweaked just a bit with ATI tool. I can play Oblivion, Quake 4 etc. no problem with pretty good rates. It's fun to just set up anywhere. That being said, the machine your looking at should be a beast!
As far as the DFI 680 - hurry up with this thing!
I received my EVGA 680i A1 board today. Stupid Thermalright didn't package any stupid mounting hardware for the HR-05-SLI so I'll have to deal with the stock cooling for now.
Anyways, I'll check back to this thread in a bit. Right now, I'm going to have some 680i overclocking FUN.
Hopefully the DFI 680i will come out soon.
guys i think what we need to do is come up with a prority list for who gets this MB. those who have been waiting the longest get to order from the first batch, those who recently came on board for the 680i get bumped way way down on the list.
who's with me.
24 pages... and no sign of the board... lol...
Done and done. I put AS5 on both the SB and NB. The thermal paste they had on there was like hard tooth paste. I put the fan on the NB, and then put heatpipe/heatsinks back on the motherboard.
Right now I'm waiting for my hard drive to format to 300GB. I'm actually installing windows Vista 32bit, since I can't find my Windows XP Pro disc right now.
I'm going to play some god of war 2.
On a darker note, my 37" Sharp TV has no "replacement parts at this time". $@(&*$#@ $#@*&*!@ SHARP!!! Arg...you spend $1000 on a TV and it arrives DOA, and then the parts at NOT in stock at Sharp to fix it.
Well, I got tired of waiting for Newegg and so I ordered via motherboardpro.com. They are getting some in tomorrow or Friday (overnight shipping is costing me $25). If I understand it correctly, their shipment is coming directly from DFI''s NA HQ in CA. They are having mine drop-shipped to my US address directly from DFI for pickup on Friday. They have about 10 more left in their allocation right now. They are newcomers to the business but keen to make a good impression so it seems like the risk is probably low with respect to having a bad experience. However, their actions will speak for themselves. Don't take this as an endorsement yet... until I've got a working board in hand.
Good luck bud...hope the board is worth the premium you're dishing out just to have it in hand. I'm just a spectator for the moment (my Evga works just fine) watching to see how things shape up. If I see folks getting good results with high memory clocks I may try one out in a month or so.
Have fun...:toast:
C'mon man they 30" dell is wayyy better than a tv. 2560x1600 no HDTV has a resolution like that. Get your money back on that sharp and get the dell.
I'm telling you this because i tried the tv thing first. No comparison! Now my dell is my most favorite piece of equipment. It's truly amazing. Best money i've spent for my system.
if i wanted sli and didnt already have a board what other choice is there but DFI :confused2:
also; it clocks quads well.
