On UD3P I know that you can do PL9 or less on 1:1 divider, so its not apples to apples. I can run 500FSB DDR2-1200, because that is 5:6 divider, and then I can use PL8 or PL7, then we could compare memory bandwidth. I just used DDR2-1000 on that run, because I thought it would be easier for people to clock ram there, so people with no high-end ram would be able to compare results too. And ir would also reduce impact of 2x1GB ram vs 2x2GB ram.
Also you can see my PSU rails on the screenshot. 12v is 12v, 5v is 5v, 3.3v is 3.3v. No messing with 12.6v on that rail for me. Just plain stock PSU used.

I am not a troll, I am not bashing anything. There is no "win / lose" in this comparison. Reason of this, is that I am trying to understand if 16 phase power of asus boards are really overkill or not. Since UD3P uses 6 phase power only, if it can handle same stability and clocks on same voltages, then I don't see any reason for the crazy 16 phase them. Of course, for that, a quad 4.5GHz + on 500FSB would be ideal for testing. But I only have a 65nm quad B3 aircooled, so that is impossible for me. So, lets do it on 7x500 and see what happens.
If you are interested in which board win "will", believe me its prbably the UD3P, the other guy is testing on a Q9650, a 45nm processor that will require much less VTT and PLL then my 65nm quad, to perform the same overclock. 3.5GHz is nothing for that 45nm CPU. It would be ideal if he would use a 65nm B3 quad too. But that is impossible, so lets just run it this way :) I still believe we can come to some conclusions.

okay, if you want to do that, then increase your CPU core volts, try 1.3375v in bios, and with the exact setting (you can help both of us save time by first using the same setting until you get a enough stable system that you want). and retest your system in Windows and post back.Quote:

HI, i need some advices. I spent a lot of time to try figure out my rights settings to get my system stable at 4ghz. But i didn`t have sucesse yet. And now i don`t know what change, once i tried every combination... Please i know my system is capable.

The big deal is, when i run ORTHOS blend test some times i got BSOD and others times i got error on program like "the expected was 0.4..." I believe my problem is memory because i ran ORTHOS small FFT`s and i didnt get errors, when i run blend test before 1min of test i get errors... tried checking and find information in the thrends, radaja, BuGjAE, Goldreader (not sure i write the correct username) and probably more other have been posted theire settings before, as far as i remember, there were some 500x8's.
does any one run thier hard drives in raid o here?if so what is the best stripe size,im very new to raid.i thought id give it a go. also whats better the purple sata ports(onboard) or the others ones?with vista can i just set it to raid then set up the raid volume, then install OS-using vista drivers then boot into windows and reinstall intel drivers? or does that only work with achi? any help would be appreciated.thanks

i took off the entire heatpipe assembly,then proceded to very carefully pry it up and off.it take a little patience ,but it does cut down temperature levels.the hard part is getting the tape residue off the heatsink.(alcohol,acetone)

Well I don't really want to take the mobo out till I get my phase change cooling in a few weeks. So i'll do it then.
I know it's not a competition there is nothing to compete for, but sometimes it sounds like you underestimate engineers, if they build something to work with 6 Phase it's because they know what they are doing. Just because Asus has 16 Phase doesn't mean they can hold anything better. In fact as far as I'm concern the smallest route between to points is still a straight line... :up:Quote:

I can't show Prime95 now as I don't have 7hrs of the day, but testing was done using IBT Max and HCi Memtest 3.8 150%. If my systems passes those 2they can Prime95 all year. But I can Prime95 during the week if you insist.
Another note is that Everest OSD doesn't show much info on this board only the stuff is on screen so you have to see all voltages on ET6 (Easy Tuner 6).

This board is pretty much a joy to use, so easy you can hit and tweak and you can get the job done.
No matter how low volts you use this board will use less and remain stable and no matter how high fsb you want this board will keep breaking records with Quads.

Im running 4 hard drives in raid 0 im have tried 32k strip and 64k strip, 32 seems a little faster, but all i have read on the issue 64k seems the best bet, thats what im running my raid 0 in.

Wow, very nice numbers, but yes, prime is needed. No prime, the comparison is even less apples to apples as it already is.
I also see that your CPU is a 45nm, it will by definition need less volts to do its business on the same clock a 65nm will. That is independent on boards or anything. Its just a better and newer cpu. That is the major thing making the comparison even less fair.
I see the vPLL and vFSB you needed was lower then mine. But those are very cpu related, and this is a problem when comparing 45nm to 65nm cpus.
The vNB I used was lower then yours. I was on 1.23 on bios and 1.24 reported on everest, as you can see on pics. This voltage is much less cpu dependend that the others, but still, you are on 2x2gb mem, and I am on 2x1GB mem, which could explain it too.
I guess the only way to compare it, would be the same CPU running on each board. That would be the best. Or, second way, if I had a 45nm or you a 65nm. I don't have a 45nm. Do you have a 65nm quad by a chance? :)
Anyway, the numbers are good. Congrats. But as a comparison, it won't do, because the difference on the CPU's are much more then I imagined.
Anyway, this is what I get on the everest, for the mems clocked as yours. My write and copy values, are lower because I have less cache on the CPU (65nm vs 45nm). Every 65nm cpu will have lower write / copy. But the read / latency are unafected by the less cache and are fair comparison.

That should work very good for you Raja, the stripe size depends on what your doing with your computer, what type of programs and file sizes, but 64k you cant go wrong.
