I didn't find that in the BIOS or uGuru:confused:
When I did enter those settings that I can find, after I F10 and rebooted, I got a C1 reading on the POST code displayer:confused:

can't find the stress.txt files:mad:
Cpl Ledanek,
There is a VDimm option in there, could you give us a screen shot of uguru loaded up and in the setup menu with OC Guru selected on the left? That menu should have the VDimm selection on the right hand side.
Also looks like your second core failed on that orthos run, but what is your core voltage under load? I see you have speedstep turned on and that can throw off the screenshot if the cpu isn't under a load when the screenshot is taken, 1.18 would be a nice voltage for 3.6ghz though!
Thought I'd mention that my G.Skill HZ DDR2-1000 CL4 is unsupported by this mobo, which is a pain in the knob. I have got it to boot once, but it doesn't like the SPD since 16B09.
Hopefully I am putting this to bed here. I found this fantastic little gizmo which I should be able to hook up to the internal s/pif header no? The ip35 manual says it is for an add on hdmi card but hoping this works out!!!

I am not sure that would even work. I know I forgot to disable the onboard sound once and it caused all kinds of issues when Windows loaded. IRQ's could play a part in this also. I just don't see how you could have 2 audio outs from the same system at the same time. The IP35-Pro is a great board, but not that great ;)
Jimmyj,
That method is not going to work because all that header does is bring your front panel HD audio connections to a header on the back of the case. You still have the problem of having one sound card that cannot handle 2 separate outputs.
The easiest way around this is to get a simple USB to coax or digital adapter, this can act as a second sound card and can be setup to get output from winamp or the like. Here's a larger example of what I'm talking about but you should be able to find one for cheap, they're pretty common for laptops that don't have digital outputs on them:

Hope that helps you out.
better off setting the timings you want manually.
i use Gskill DDR2-800 with no problem in SPD or manually set...a lot has to do with what FSB to memory ratio you are attempting to use...1:1 and 1:1.20 are the easiest ones to work with...they are using thw 1333 mhz memory strap (looser latencies)...if you try 1:1.25 that is 4:5 memory ratio (1066 memory strap) and that has way tighter memory latencies...generally, harder to attain higher FSB using 4:5.
just get one that has a decent CFM rate
40mm Scythe "Mini-Kaze" Case/Chipset Fan (4.11 CFM, 14 dBA)

looks good...may pick it up:up:
update on that Vdimm adjustment to 2v

Could someone tell me what drivers I should F6 during Windows installation? I'm installed Windows Home on 1 sata seagate drive. i tried it without installing any f6 drivers and my burst rates on all three drives are usually low. once in a while they get normal, but then revert to low again. i tried the jmicron raid during F6 and same thing. Could someone tell me exactly what I need to install in F6 to get my dvd burners working correctly? I'm in UDMA mode on all three burners and the burst rates are too low. I'm a noob. Please help.
COOLEST, originator of coretemp has updated his program to work in vista64:

Wow, 221 pages later I finally reach the end...
So I've got a 2140 while i wait on the 45nm quads to finally come visit. I've had this setup for about a month now and I've gotten it to 3.2ghz which is 400fsb. I'm not a total noob, but it IS my first time OC'ing an intel chipset, so I could use a little help plz.
My current settings are:
vcore 1.45
MCH 1.48
CPU VTT 1.35
ICH 1.32
DDR2 2.1
ICHIO 1.65
Now 3.2 is solid, nice and stable. But if i go to get to about 410 uguru locks my computer up. It won't apply without dieing. Have I reached the end of this chip, the fsbwall, or do i need to up the voltage somewhere? Temps are fine, cpu is hitting about 44 in orthos and pwm is about 48. This is vista x86 btw.
Thanks guys!
ICH is to high...you shouldn't need over 1.09, the max!
Vcore could be slightly higher
CPU VTT should be around 1.3v
MCH could be in the 1.5(x) range
ICHIO could be set to 1.7v
once you go over 1000 mhz overclock, you are just about getting to the maximum overclock especially if you are on air...some cpu's can go higher...i got about 1500 mhz on my Q6600 'G0' cpu...that is an exceptional cpu
Welp it looks like I've hit the top of the fsb for this chip. I can make it to about 406 and its fairly stable, but anything over that causes it to fall on its face. I went up one more step on the voltages and cpu up to 1.5 and couldn't make 410. Oh well, at 400 I can run the ram at 1:1.25 for its 500mhz.
Even though most don't realize it, you guys helped me alot over this past month.

Does that mean this is my maxed OC?
Advance thanks
Hey guys,
I have to disagree with you to some extent. At the moment, I have two discrete audio channels from the same onboard sound. If I set s/pidf (digital out) as default and start media center, it plays in teh living room and continues to hold that stream. If I switch the default audio to line out (analog out) and start say itunes, or a video game, it will play in the computer room on the 2nd set of 5.1 speakers, just not in digital. Hatax, that header is a s/pdif digital header, and I believe the front panel audio is only analog - two different headers.
My question at this point is how the internal s/pdif header will act in the realtek control panel. You think it is the same source as the s/pdif out on the back panel on the mobo or is there is no way I will be able to differentiate between the two anywhre in vista or the realtek control panel?
Thanks again,
JJ
Cpt Ledanek: increase VCore at least up to 1.35V. My E8400 works at 4GHz with 1.43V.
replaced the heatsink mounting solution with bolts and put on ceramique, even with a tiny fan on the center heatsink I see my pwm1 at 79C after load atm.
This is a Q6600 400*9 atm.
vcore 1.5
CPU VTT 1.23
MCH 1.23
ICH 1.09
DDR2 1.9
ICHIO 1.55
I should be considerably under that shouldn't I? Temp wise? It doesn't seem to go over, atleast not yet, and cpu temp 68C max atm, but I'm worried about the PWM.
that should be fine.....Unless you are under load like 24/7 but I think pwm can go up to 100c and be safe....
I already did the bold mod:up: ...sorry if that suggestion was wasn't for me:(
advance thanks
I'll give that a go as soon as my mini fan arrives
 ...as for the PWM...i'M still scratching my head on how to cool that down.
advance thanks
I'm getting POST 52: "Test all memory (clear all extended memory to 0"
what that means?
advance thanks

I just realized that after looking back at the pic:shakes:
thanks:up:
Anyone having problems running high speed RAM ? tried my new aXeRAM DDR2-1200+ and Patriot DDR2-1150 and no go at high (1100+ speeds) ...what gives and I am using 16.B09 BIOS too - would official 14 be good for clockimng a Celeron 420 w/ high speed RAM - getting the MARS board by the way... for benching
there might be a very few to get above ddr1100 speed...i don't think this board is good for that high of speed...you can try other bioses just to see.
I added a fan to my PWM and it dropped my PWM temps so considerably, I thought the added airflow + bolt mod would be enough with my fsb, but it dropped from 80C to 60C under load with a fan.
Currently running at a Q6600 400*9 atm, with Corsair Ballistix at 1.2 modifier (960).
vcore 1.49
CPU VTT 1.23
MCH 1.44
DDR2 1.9
ICH 1.09
ICHIO 1.55
Cpu temp has gone down to 63C coretemp, 60C using realtemp, and I figure I got some more headroom to overclock some more. I tried 420*9 with 1.52v (set memory to 1.0) and I get instant errors when using prime.
Any suggestions on what I could try to get some more out of this cpu? Not sure how high I wanna/can take my vcore.
//edit, that lasted for about 30 minutes before rebooting without any prime errors, bumping the cpu voltage to 1.5 now, got sneaky suspicion it aint the cpu though.
Vdroop FTW thats why prime probably failed
Do you actually think that Vdroop mod would make a difference?
I thought that only messing with VTT and GTLref would do the trick?
arg i could kick this mobo for the mommend  !
a little whill back i had a QX9650 ES to play with , so IP35pro with the chi^p worked . no problem for that but oc'ing  , sinds the last bios update nothing changed and that's 2month's now .
the ES did like only 5ghz under a cascade and 5.2ghz under LNē , first i thougted it whas the cpu . now im sure its the board! buyed me a new QX9650 but a retail : same all over again , 5ghz max cascade nothing more .
so it punt's out to a immature bios , so plz abit and xs member's do something about it ! remarks to the bios voltage's in bios are shown all wrong (i have to set 1.45vcore to get 1.3vcore real , and that's with a v-droop) temp's are freaky! even core-temp cant read the right temps on air !
hope this get's througe to someone at abit or a member here can look in to it or this board is out off here for good !
Is the B09 bios better at ocing ram as compared to the others or is it same just different for the cpu's
...maybe I haven't research this enough, but any of you guys play around the E-Q?
Is there something you guys adjust there?
I can't get ddr2-1000 to work with 400x9 on my q6600. However, it worked back when I was running 300x10 on an E2180. I think the high bus speed may have something to do with it.
Any suggestions?
MCH voltage is already at 1.44v.
I have a q6600 @ 3.6ghz (400x9) on an IP35-Pro.
It's running with 1.45 vcore.
MCH is at 1.44v
ICH is bumped up two notches, vtt is bumped up one notch (1.23 I think)
voltage for the ram is at 2.1v which is what I use to use to hit ddr2-1000 with 5-5-5-15 2T timings. Now it doesn't work with that.
I really don't mind, right now I have it running at 4-4-4-12 2T at ddr2-800, it's fast enough for me and the extra bandwidth won't do much (if anything) and I'd much rather have the extra speed of the CPU and fsb then the ram.
Just wondering if there's anything I could try.
hey man, feel your frustation!...this board will deliver when the cpu is very good...i got my original 9650 to 4400 mhz (air) and it was the same for the DFI LT X38.
true, the bios vcore is way out of whack with what has to be set and what becomes actual...i use Uguru...the vcore difference is only about 0.07 difference to actual vcore.
abit is working on an updated beta bios...CeBIT stopped them in their tracks...i think that is over tomorrow or today...lets hope next week will be a release.
I backed down the FSB, so far this might be it, until I get better RAMs
http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/4757/3808eh2.th.jpg
been fun and as always, appreciate all the help:biggrin:
Guys what exactly is the CPU VTT ? and what is the safe range for changing it?
and is there any bios with 1:30 or 1:40 ram ratio? something between 1:25 and 1:50 I mean! I cant go over FSB 415 and my ram will be at 1050... I have two sticks of Transcend axe 1066 D9GMH ... I can do DDR 1150 with fsb 375...but since there is not a good ratio option for me I am stopped at FSB 415 and DDR 1050
Well, I am a bit baffled by my system at the moment. I was running 4 sticks of Crucial Tracers with no problems for a few months. Then I had a stick die so I sent the set back for RMA. When I got the replacements, they were the single sided new ones. I don't know if they would have plyed well with my double sided as they were bad out of the box. I sent them back and got my replacement for the replacement yesterday, which are double sided. I installed them this AM and started off with a MemTest run, which passed with no errors. I booted into Vista and after a few minutes got a BSOD and reboot. I upped the MCH a bit and same thing. Relaxed the timings and same thing. I even tried running SPD settings with more MCH with the same results. SO I backed of the o/c but that didn't help either. I then tried Vista's memory tool but things passed with no errors there, also. I next pulled the new sticks out and reset all the voltages and o/c back to where they were. Things now were back to normal. I replaced the older sticks with the new ones and same result, works fine. Just to check if a slot had maybe gone bad I moved the sticks to the other slots. Things work just fine there. I now know it is not the sticks or the slots. What had happened that now keeps me from running 4 sticks of memory when it worked fine before? The only thing else that has been changed was I went to the 16.04 bios, up from the 14 during the RMA process. Could this be the cause?
what was the error code for the BSOD?...if it is auto-restarting right after you see the BSOD, you can take it out of the auto-restart so you can write down the codes...punch the code into the search engine...it will show you what is happening...i am guessing vista might be hosed...put the vista disc in and go to repair...if it detects a problem, it will rapidly fix it....could be a corrupted NTFS file index...just some ideas.
other options is to return to your previous bios or run a new setup for vista.
Hi! Can someone say their max FSB on this board? i was trying my old E6750 and i can't go over 495 fsb have tried to jump over to 500/510 and such it doesnt matter how high vMCH i take or vCore, VTT im using 16.B09 beta BIOS or shall i change it? :) it's kinda wierd cuz atm it's stable at 3850 but when i higher it to 3900 it isnt stable at all :S
Ugh, been completely out of the loop on what's happening with this board lately due to studies. What's the new B09 bios like? I'm still running B03.
is the abit ip-35 as good as abit ip-35 pro for overclocking ??
I have a Q6600 G0, wc, 4Gb DDR2 1000 GSKILL, and want to do 4Ghz (8x500) is this posible or need a E8400/E8500 to do this ??
begrip, i would use 16.b04 bios it more for the 65nm cpu
That could be a distinct possibility with Vista. When I tried to run the first replacements I kept getting all kinds of weird happenings with Vista. Ever since then I cannot access things like Control Panel, Windows Update, or even get to the desktop settings. That seemed to be a problem for a lot of people and I have been fighting it as a Vista problem and not on my end. I have tried the Repair from the disc and it finds no errors. I have tried to run the SFV thing and no errors. I really miss the Repair function that XP had. It does look like maybe a fresh install of Vista is in order. I never thought to boot into XP to see if I had the same problem. I will give that a shot later in the week.
You know somewhere in this thread I :banana::banana::banana::banana:ed out about the Ip-35 Pro as I went through 2 or 3 of them. But little did I know and it was not well known way back when I first tried it that there was an issue with the psu (HX620) in the rig I was putting it in. Lol, I tried forhours changing settings, and flashing the BIOS and rma'ing and remounting. All for not.
But a month ago, I put it in my main rig, and all I can say is that it was worth a second whirl. I love this board, and this thread has been a great help to maxing my q6600 OC.
Hey guys, this mainboard works well with 4x1 gb ddr2?
Cpl, I was looking at your screen shots, did you try bringing the ram voltage up to 2.1? Lots of these memory chips rated at 800mhz just need a little nudging to get to 900 or so.
Bios 16.B10 is out :D Linky ---->http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread.php?t=122393
i had that same problem...the way you fix that is hit F8 at boot time and then select "last known good configuration", or similar words like that...it will allow return to default settings...basically it resets all your system changes back the way it was installed for the first time....you will regain access to windows update, control panel and other sub adjustments....UAC will remain deactivated if you disabled it before...i do! (POS);)
Ok Ace put in that new bios and let us know how it works :D
I am about to try it...lets see if the temp bug is still there
well my q6600 g0 shows 57C in bios/uguru and 37C in realtemp so its a nitemare for fan control lol...
full load realtemp 47-50C everest shows 69 for the CPU and 57C for the cores...
Well I also updated to Beta 16.B10 and seem to have a problem.:( System steps thro until it shows a "52" on the internal display and I just have the big truck on the screen. Can't get to the Bios setup to raise voltages, etc.
Sometimes with the previous bios I had it freeze for a minute or two on boot, at the same point, but that problem had gone away. Now it's back and currently it's a LOT longer than 2 minutes...
realtemp 2.1 yes
Is someone can tell me that MCHBAR always locked or not with last beta bios?
let me install...i'll let you know very soon.
Finally got it to boot. Had to remove two sticks of RAM, and then could boot up to the point where I could get into BIOS Setup. Then set everything (voltages and memory timings) as previous setup (I had previously needed to set all timings, etc. to get it to work with 8GB of RAM - wouldn't work with SPD timings).
Then reinstalled RAM (so M$ wouldn't start thinking I was changing too many things with my Vista...)
Now it works, but I have that damn "Pause" back at step "52" in the boot sequence that lasts for a minute or two. The screen has just started to display Memory Test in the early part of the on screen bios display (when the truck display is disabled)
Where can I download AWDFLASH for IP35 pro?
SO FAR, i like this new beta bios...i am up to 4140 mhz with just a moderate increase in vcore...mind you this is not prime 95 tested; instead, i use wPrime 1024M stability bench...if it passes that test, i am a happy camper:D
i increased the vcore by 0.05v to go from 445 to 460 FSB (9X)...memory is set to 1:1 using only GSkill DDR800 2 x 2 gb sticks in vista64.
core temps were reasonable under Uguru...it topped out at 55C...real temp 2.1 had 2-3C higher in one of the four cores.
what i like about this bios and vista64...i can get about the same completion (performance) time at 4140 mhz as i got on the DFI LT X38 mobo at 4400 mhz in XP SP2...both boards were just about equal in performance with the 1st Qx9650 that i had installed using XP SP2 operating system.
no benefit for Q6600 users with this new bios?
I'm interested in seeing if there is any benefit for my quad as well. Also, it would be nice if they fixed the CPU fan voltage bug...
make sure you have "Quick Power On Self Test" ENABLED...that feature is located in "Advanced BIOS Features"...it sounds like your setup is testing all your 8 gig's of memory which will take time.
also, what are your set memory timings...SPD will not work with 8 gig's of memory especially if one stick is inferior in quality and performance...that is all it takes to upset the apple cart.;)
Been agonizing about a mobo for my e2160 that I plan to take to 3ghz or so. Is this a great choice...how about its little brother or the DFI Blood Iron?
Thanks
best bang for the buck...Uguru software and chip is unsurpassed!
That goes for both the Pro and regular or just the Pro?
How about the sound card...good for HTPC like the Asus ones or not quite?
Thanks :-)
how is the Vdroop with that QX Ace? Have you done the mod?
hey guys, is there a proven OCZ memory for this board, doesn't have to be uber-fast. Just stable.:D
I'm contemplating of replacing my RAM (see sig) coz current ram will probably not fit once I get the OCZ RAM cooler.
as always advance thanks:up:
