I don't think gabe will release the Apogee GTZ late on purpose, probably there was delay in manfucturing process, and thats probably why his not responding at the moment (busy).
LOL!

something to think about, the rest I leave up to you speculators
They are probably delaying it because they had to change the name to FTW!
Apogee FTW Edition - Coming Soon
(Free Panda pelt with purchase)
hahaha
ok, i think we (me included) need to take a chill pill and stop bashing each other and get back to the topic
No need to be rude ;)Quote:

I'll bet $10 to 10 donuts it wont be more then 1-2c different then whats all ready available anyway.:yepp:
Evolutionary not revolutionary :wasntme:
Now thats funny.....:clap: a typical oxymoron...
Not that I'm calling you a stupid bovine or anything... :cow: :cow::cow:

Now then where's this block....???? I've got a useless Thermaltake Big Water745 waterblock at the moment, so I really need something better, I was going to get a Swiftech Apogee GTX, when I found out that there was this new GTZ about to be released.... so I'm not going to buy the GTX now that the GTZ is so imminent, but if there's no AM2 :smileysex::bananal: << (mounting kit) :D - with it, or available as anoptional purchase, then I'm going tohave to re-plan.... waiting...waiting...ever so patiently...!!!! C'mon.....arrghghhhh...!!!!....sorry...!! ... MMoooo!!!:cow: :rofl:
Huh ?
Its people like you who are too serious to take a joke.
If you were logical enough to check my sig, 80% of the water cooling parts I own is swiftech brand (I even buy only swiftech branded ddc's) I love my swiftech parts and I reccomend them to everyone I advise on watercooling. Swiftech is a great company but this thread is feeling a bit empty so I tried to lighten the mood.
@kazgirl
Holy use of emoticons batman!
Well it needed injecting with a bit of coluour I thought...LOL.
May as well have some fun while we're all waiting for news... and it keeps the thread active.... as well...
Hopefully it'll catch Gabe's eye when hes got enough time, and he'll post soem solid info....!!!!
THen we can all have a  some :toast2: and who knows what might happen then.... :lsfight::eleph::eleph::wierd::smileysex::moon: :bananal: ...then ZZzzzzz no sleep emoticon... :(
:rofl::ROTF::rofl::ROTF::rofl::ROTF::rofl::ROTF:
I found both post quite comical, ty!
Good G** Kazgirl, now that's funny and disturbing all at once, sort of like when Billybob married Sue, who just happens to be his first cousin, :D
Funny, but................ disturbing.
Utnorris
Well done kazgirl, you just brightened up my day!:ROTF:
That should catch Gabe's eye no probs :p:
If this block really would perform a solid 2-3 degrees better than what's out there now, that would be pretty amazing to me. If you look at the thermal performance of the top few blocks available now, the differences are kind of hard to even measure.
IMO we can't expect huge temperature improvements until CNT-blocks or something like that come along. Until then, a block with good flow, temperatures as good as the best, an appealing design and a competitive price is an excellent block in my book.
Not that I wouldn't love to be proven wrong. :)
bump :ROTF:
I've been noticing lots of peeps bumping threads lately...TMK, thats a big no-no around these parts.
skinnee, why is bumping threads an issue (if someone is constantly bumping the same thread every second thats a problem but if a thread that people are interested in falls away whats the point with bringing it back to attention (though admitidly it would be better if it was brought back with new information but ...))
Wasn't directing at everyone, just some of the recent ones I have seen the questions were answered but the threads were bumped repeatedly after with nothing more than a "bump" post.
Finally, some internal shots.
That article is claiming a .75ēC improvement over an EK Supreme and 1.25ēC over Fuzion V2 at 1.5GPM for both.
Thanks for the pics Rosco! You rocks§§
(I've just rehost them to save bandwidth ;) )

we have a new king...:worship:
i would like to see some more testing though..
pics are soo small! but atleast we know what it looks like now

http://www.cooling-masters.com/image...00808/gtz2.jpg
yeah... like i said i would like to see some more testing... :)
i prefer supreme looks wise but if these results are accurate i just cant deny!
Look promising but let's wait for some cold hard numbers ;)
i think there should be a seal between the jet plate and the top
from the drawings it looks like the plate is just seated in plate as well
nothing to keep it from moving. none the less i think the base looks awesome
just curious to why they would make a base a semi pin array and use
a vertical/horizontal jet. i guess the impact surface area would be more even
also dont understand why they would put the channels on the side,
looks like it blocks flow, i guess more turbulence is good. none the less looks
like a pretty awesome design
Just in case you don't read French, Rosco states in his preview that it will be as restrictve as a Storm :/
Those numbers are SWIFTECH numbers, not independently tested... however I have no reason no doubt their numbers.
No, Gabe performed that test. Actually Stephen did but, same difference.
So what?
Missed the restriction thing (I can read french but some weird words use threw me off) but like Scott said, so what ? In the Storm days, people is buying them and just adjust the pumping power and loops around that.
ohh, if these numbers are correct I'll change my Fuzion.
The pressure drop looks similar to the ones for a Fuzion V2 with a 6.5mm nozzle, so our current pumps should work OK.
It is not that different from the EK Supreme.
Some restriction isn't a bad thing, it'll make the people with the RD30 happy to put their pumps to use again :D Heck even the 18W DDC should do fine, it handled the storm OK.
Good job, although like the EK supreme it looks a bit clog prone with the wrong coolant. Probably a good bet to stick with fuzion or apogee gt/gtx if you are using any dyes.
how come the q6600 is 10c less then then the q9450?...when the q6600 has more volts and is the hot unredisgned quads...
Nice to see some figures finally..!!
Anyone notice the 30C ambient if thats what it says......my french isn't that good something about "entree et debit", enter..??? assuming thats the rad air intake temp...???
Seems a high ambient to me...??
So should expect lower temps than those shown..... as well..??
No hang on just saw the eau bit, so thats water in temp then I take it...??? and the "debit" must mean flow rate at 1.5GPM, so is that 30C water in temp and flow rate of 1.5GPM...
Never mind its still a high restriction block meaning I'll need to add a new pump as well..... :(:(
I think I'm going to go with the XSPC X20 Delta V2 for now, as its quite cheap, low restriction, and gives pretty good results....... and when I replace my mobo in a month or so maybe I'll add a DDC 3.2 and XSPC top, and then look again at improving the block depending on how well the Phenom will OC on the new SB750 mobos...
Glad I waited though...!!! Look forward to seeing some results when someone gets this though...!!
Can I also just go off topic for a second to say how sad I was to read that Martin is bringing his testing and reviewing to a close....!! I have only recently come across some of the results and his webpage and all I can say is what a fantastic contribution he has made....:clap::clap:
I needed look no further than his website to get all the information I needed...!!!
Thanks for your hard work.... I'm looking forward to seeing your QC CPU Block results as well.!!!!!
It's 30C water temperature^^
I know it looks like a 5 year old did this but....here's approx where the GTZ fits in thanks to Martin's Thermalright test chart.
http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/2054/flowan1.jpg
Nice, I didn't think they were allowed to release that stuff yet....
Very nice though. I love the new design, it's very different and very unique...that's hard to find these days.
The only thing I'm not understanding yet is the comparison appears to be comparing at a fixed GPM.
Doesn't comparing C/W vs flow rate is a good way to penalize the lower restriction blocks and not a real world results comparison? Cathar mentioned this out a while back, to do it right you would compare pumping power instead of flow rate on the x axis.
Or you could calculate the actual c/w based on the pressure drop curves for each block compared and use the appropriate c/w value for the returning flow rate you would expect.
Regardless, it would be a good comparison for the Supreme as it's probably higher in restriction.
Very interesting, perhaps we have a new king?...:D
Good times!! the competition is getting strong these days!..
Ahh... internal shots, finally! I don't believe those numbers yet, though. That would be a spectacular improvement in cooling.
Man, I want to get my hands on one of those.
I am sure it will be a good block. Honestly, I wasn't hoping for more of a change in the internal design, something revolutionary, something no one else was using. To me it looks like a D-Tek Fuzion top on an Apogee GT base. Granted, they did add the channels on the outside area, but how does that help cool a quad where the majority of the heat is in the center, i.e. the reason we bow our blocks. Also, in the looks department, it looks like a D-Tek to me, IMHO. It would have been nice to see another vendor take a chance on making their block stick out, like the Enzotech. Again, just my opinion.
Anyway, from a cooling standpoint, I am sure it will be just as good as the Supreme and D-Tek. Swiftech makes very good products.
Utnorris
Now that's more like it. Internal pics and even some preliminary testing .
Can't wait to see these finding their way into our good homes... :D
Im guessing this is a dual pump block with todays anemic ddc 3.2's lol
I'm just really happy to see some manufacturer tested data. Happy to see it and would encourage more....that's awesome!
I personally would like to learn more about how they do this sort of testing. All the typical questions come to mind.
- Is multiple mounting done when this sort of testing takes place?
- What sort of mounting pressure is applied?
- What sort of thermal compound is used and what method of application?
- Is the processor IHS stock or lapped?
- On the fuzion block was the quad nozzle or any nozzle used?
- The temperatures we're seeing, are they an average of core temps, or some sort of probe inserted somewhere?
- If the temps are core temperatures, which software and how long are these logged for and averaged?
- What is being used to "Load" the processor? Is there some sort of warm up time that's standard.
- What does the 30C mean, is that water temperature?
We're all struggling to figure out the best way to test these things third party, it would be awesome to better understand how it's done by the industry.
Just getting ready to start in on my second round and trying to sort out the testing methods...
Martin PM me your email address plz, you apparently are not accepting PM's...
Ok People, sorry for disappearing for a week, but it's been quite busy around here.
1/ I owe the XS members an apology for jumping the guns a bit concerning product release. We expect to start shipping to the dealers next week.
2/ The information presented by cooling masters coming from unpublished data on our site is unauthorized, unnoficial, and incorrect! It WILL change at the time of release. For example, I can tell you now that pressure drop curves in particular are completely wrong. I am asking members of XS and readers to disregard any information that is not officially published on the Swiftech site.
Thanks for the update and clarification gabe, we all appreciate it.
Andy, this was completely unauthorized. Even the info published by the British site was unauthorized, since all communications to the dealers have been confidential. I am quite upset about this. I uploaded the page to the web server temporarily to check out some changes, and he must have been fishing at the right time :(
so how restrictive will this block be?
srry, didnt see that
Reading your comments I don't know how you could be happy or assured with anyones results.
If you pay a third party then by your own logic he would want to satisfy you so that you would bring him additional business.
Gentlemen: Where has trust gone?
Has anyone ever seen this man lie to us?
Date's on products being available can and do change.
Bringing a product to market is a HUGE undertaking.
The design, manufacturer, testing, packaging and then getting your outlets up to speed on the item. All of these areas pose the potential for issues to arise and delay the proposed dates of release.
It bothers me to see any company rep on this forum treated as if he/she is lying to us even if the words are veiled.
Every one of these people and every member here is entitled to courtesy and respect. Ask the questions yes, but in a way that there is no veiled sarcasm or discourtesy. We may be an outlet for their products and that is the business end but I assure you, it is they doing us the favor by coming here and I doubt the money they make from just what is read here would either make or break their businesses.
What I'm trying to say is before you post, take the time to read that post to yourself and try to see it as if your the person it's addressed to.
I would like to see some of your test/results.
And not TC PA120.3 or any EK FTW!!!!!!!!! shistuff.
Thing you need to understand besides saying:up: or:down: or FTW!!!
all the time is, how about some basic results from your personal experience
with whatever hardware you use.
What is and isnt good.
The more users here or at any other forum who post their experiences
is what desides what products are up to the task.
RRR, here is a point we disagree on. As someone who is just starting out in the independent testing/review arena I cannot speak on experience of testing WC gear, but I can draw from my ethics and work experience.
Being an independent tester, you work for the community not a vendor or manufacturer. You have to test that particular product in the same manner you have tested all others of the same type in order to draw a comparison and build the historical data. As an independent tester it is a requirement that you be fair and equal to all products and tests, regardless of how the specific product arrived on your test bench. All of the gear I will be using for testing is funded by me (and my wife) presently. Now if my tests and data that I present to the community means companies would like to send me a sample for testing, thats great...but the data cannot be fudged, that is the only way you will earn the respect of the community. And if the numbers are tweaked for the specific company, others in the community will bust you on it and there goes your credibility and trust you spent all that time and money building.
And this is a perfect example of something an independent tester/reviewer would be able to tell you!
You have PM..
Thanks Gabe!
Everytime I do a new set of testing, I'm always trying to learn from the previous round. I think this next round I'm going to follow nicksub1's 5 mount method again, but I'm also going to add in testing with two levels of pumping power to see if there is any worthwhile gains with than, and also see if there is any ranking reversals with the different pumping powers.
Obviously we're not going to have access to the high quality equipement that you do, but it might give us an idea where we can improve our own methods.
