My CPU score was 4,300 in XP.
A M$ Windows Update foiled attempt this week :cussing:
My harddrive started thrashing about, reading and writing hundreds of files evertime I booted up, plus network card work would keep disconnecting
Spent the last couple days trying fix it
Did find some stuff I need to improve because this
2 gigs of ram is not enough for Vista, I was wondering why my load times took so long
Ben_Brown got me curious about my power consumption, I got brave and put my power meter on.
Idle was 530W for Trifire
Peak was 803W and that was 3465MHz
If work is slow I hope to replace some the heatpipe cooling crap
It will take a couple of weeks to fix things up
You have a chance to get there first
Good luck
:lsfight:
keep pushing ppl
i need those links to if you have a worthy score

sorry!!!!

Ok got out the voodoo dust for my poor litte 3850s http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=8765729 vista-64, cpu@3.263, 4x3850s 720/950,
ATI 8.10 drivers .
Wow those 3850s are impressive
Thank you
For a lower midd range video card the one thing 3850s do very good is run as a team in crossfire . They got just enought pop to get some FPS but they don't over power the cpu so when you team them up in crossfire they can run every good .Once i up grade my cpu and hit the 3.4 to 3.5 ghz range i think the 3850s can go into the 18,000 range out at 3dmark-06 . Hell with a cpu 3.5 they mite hit 19,000 .
That would make me sad if you break 19,000 with 3850's and I can't do it with 3870's.
I have given up on the 3870's though and I am trying to sell them and go with either quad 4850s or 2x 4870x2. Not sure which would be more fun.
For me it about better cpu clock speed at 17576 i realy do think a bump up to 3.4 ghz on the cpu would put it into 18000 .Than there the talk about DX11 the 3850s do DX10.1 and play any game i got good enought for me so i'am waiting to see if we are going to need new video cards for DX11 .
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=8806648 Man my Phenom all ATI/AMD rig has been the most fun to play with out of any pc i have every had .UP-DATE for the pore litte 3850s, cpu 3.375 ghz on 3 core , core 4 was at 3.1 ghz video cards 4x3850s @715/950 score 18097, Deneb cpu almost here maybe just maybe the 3850s will hit the 20s point mark . They sure as hell make 19000 range

Thank u you for the up Date Msimax
Thank you Guys i'am now starting to think on how to get to the 19,000 point mark

breaking in the 4870x2. cant seem to get my 4870x2 and a 4870 to play well together yet.
trifire run upcoming after a fresh vista install.
what drivers are you using? i think when i was messing w/ my 4870/4850 xfire 8.9 were treating me much better than 8.10... and btw, take your time gettin them to run in trifire ....... cuz my top 5 will be gone =) lol looking forward to see where you stand when you push them
Man all you guys are pulling out the big guns .Where that dran Deneb cpu at when you need one .

Congratz on your score Kazgirl :toast:
HAha, I'll be right there with you on the Phenom II...LOL...
Thanks on the congratz, even though its only 35 points...:D and thats with 2 cards over one.
But mayeb I can increase the gapa bit once I get the M3A79-T and can push my 9950 a bit more with the help of SB750 and ACC.
Hopefully towards the end of the week.

Hi HG,
Well looking at your compare, it seems pretty clear to me, that the main difference is in the CPU score with your CPU at 3.4GHz, over mine at 3.1Ghz, the graphics scores are pretty close, and I would have expected the 4850's to score better than the 3870's, though it depends on whether or not they are OC'd and by how much.
The OS being used is also most likely a factor, as mine is on 64-bit Vista, untweaked, no services disabled before running the bench etc.... whilst you are on 32-bit.
Having looked at other results on ORB with a similar config, incl. 64-bit Vista, I'm happy with the result I got.
I have all the BIOS settings configured correctly for the PCI-E etc, and the cards are in the correct slots, configured for PCI-E Gen 2.0 and Link Width x16, confirmed in CCC and GPU-Z.
The only other factor could be the PCI-E Bus, which is currently set at 100Mhz, I have got AutoExpress Enabled in BIOS, and this used to run the PCI-E Bus at 124Mhz, but for some reason it doesn't seem to do it any more, not since I flashed to the 1301 BIOS, and then went back to the 1203 BIOS after I had the USB problems with the 1301 BIOS.
The Phenom is OC'd to the most it will do on the SB600, via multi increase only, to 200Mhz x 15.5 = 3100Mhz, RAM is set at DDR2-1066 and is running as it should. NB Mulit is set to X12, as is HT Multi, though it only applies the HT Multi after opening AOD in Windows and changing it there.
So NB is at 2400Mhz, HT is at 2400Mhz.
Not sure what there could be thats wrong to be honest.
If you or anyone else has any ideas, I;d love to hear them, as if I can get a better score I'd love it..:D:D
The cards are OC'd to the Max using ATI Overdrive, and I don't really want to try to push them any higher as I'm using the stock fans and increasing the fanspeed any higher than it is (45%) makes them unbearably noisy.
I could try a higher OC on the cards and max the fanspeed just for a bench run, but when I tried this before I got all sorts of artifacting etc, I'd be much happier just finding a stable day to day setting and using that TBH....
Any and all suggestions would be welcome, though truthfully I'll be doing a complete re-build around the M3A79-T later this week, so I havn't got much time left to try things...!!!
Well i took a run at Jaivan score on the new 8.11 drivers, the drivers are not approved so i'am not going to post a link it was all in fun .

Karen, download the AMD Fusion app. All you need to do is click on the logo and it shuts down most of the background processes for you. It makes it nice and simple.
I have found no stability problems.

Temjin. 23 inches high.
I've allways been an AMD fan, but Spider came along and hit the nail on the head.
Everything running on Maximum is as smooth as silk. The only thing I'm missing is Jane Nash.
And that may change with the 940.
Here my update 8.11 drivers cpu 3.375 mhz ,video cards 715/950 , OS vista-64 home basic http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=9054809
try lowering your HT speed down to around 2000-2100mhz and your NB speed between 2200-2400mhz and see if that helps your score. also with trifire pci-e at around 108mhz raised my score and help stabilize the oc. you should have settings in bios that will let you adjust those and still keep your cpu clock where you need it.
zif
Lower the HT and the NB i drop almost 400 points on my score tested it already but thxs for the heads up.

Just can not figure it out. Thanks
Visit the ORB @ futuremark , uplaod your score , then make the result public, the ORB will give you a link to copy and paste.
Then simply copy, and paste/post it here :)

Hmmm if you like tweaking stuff and have Mx2 on hand,, replace tim on the GPU using the stock ram pads and then use 100% fan.. I can see you getting 760+core with same ram freqency.:D My 4850 was only good to 800/2400 with water cooling and stock Volts..
If you want more with stock cooling change the thermal paste on GPU only. it works.
