My ab9-Quad gt had a choice for 1T so i think intel chipsets do have the option
Vista 32/64 bit driver for the Realtek HD codec, version 1.64:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false
Drivers also for XP and as usual...WHQL...Realtek have been really excellent in updating their drivers on a regular basis, shame it can't be said for Creative.
Tried f11. Went back to f10. F10 seemed more smooth and snappy.
Anymore comments on 1T timing for the ds3? I could have sworn in the earlier bios' there was the option, but really can't recall now after all those bios'...
I never seen a 1T option in any bios release, as least for the DQ6...one thing i did notice with the F10a beta, the Azlia codec option in bios says "Auto" and "Disabled"....i could have sworn it was Enable/Disable with F9.

What differences would there be if I went from F7 -> F10/F11?
I'm hesitant to update my bios after F9 gave me a very bad experience. F7 has been solid for me, so would there be any benefit for me updating the bios to F10 or F11?
no i know there is 1T for 965 chipsets. i kno my quad GT has a alpha bios for1T testing. this was talked about months ago when i 1st had the mb

yea, i no longer have my quad gt. i m with my DQ6 rev 3.3 since my quad kicked the bucket. i knew it had 1T i just could not remember. as far as the alpha bios i think that was for my 975x AW9D-MAx i confused it with.. but yes intel chipsets do have 1T if manufacturer (965) implement them :stick:
Apparently a new beta for the DQ6 maybe coming in a week or so, i'll report back if it appears and perhaps permission will be given to Rapidshare it.
Will we be seeing any new bios for the DS4? :nono:

How do you download from that site?
Its also available at station-drivers.com... on todays files.
Don't worry I've got it.

Hello guys. I own DS3 1.0. Anyway i just bought another seagate 750 gig and up and running raid 0 after about 20 hours of having a hard time to get windows installed. If i used the drivers that are provided on gigabites site - at the end of vista 32 installation i'd get blue screen and would never be able to ever vista for the first time. So then i found someone having same probler and used something like 1.16 drivers. which got me into windows, boy was i happy after all those hours to finally install it. Anyhow now that im up and running i get a BSOD sometimes 1-2 times/day and other times i don't get it for days. Everytime it happens it reboots obviously and then when it boots im just stuck at that Raid (press Ctrl+G) to enter config screen. The only way to get around it is to reboot and enter bios and exit.. then it will let me continue and load windows. But again its a pain in a.. to get that BSOD few times/day or days. So i was thinking to updating raid0 with newest drivers for gigabites site. Am i allowed to do it within windows? because one time i did it, installation froze and it messed up my whole windows installation. So is it doable within windows? any of you not recommend using those drivers or can you tell me about better ones? Or are there any tweaks in bios i can do to improve Raid0 stability. I will greatly appriciate your help because its really driving me crazy. Thank you
tripleflip18, you may want to lower your FSB or increase your vmch and vfsb to stop the BSOD's from happening.
What's your PSU? Any idea what it says when it BSOD's?
btw how the hell did you OC your hd's lol?
As reported, DS4 beta bios F9b:
http://www.station-drivers.com/telec...965pds4f9b.exe
Been running DS4 F9b since yesterday... Seem stable, will try to push higher fsb tonight. Anyone try it yet?
If they wanna improve overclocking, they need to make additional FSB and MCH voltages availible. Atleast up to +.5V on both... Higher vFSB = higher ram clocks, higher vMCH = higher FSB clocks...
I'll be testing in an hour or so and will report my results... Also Need some D9's... Powerchip IC's = the worst. Somehow I've been able to hit 500mhz fairly stable with 1x512mb in 4:5...
Im so happy i got few people with my hard drive overclock. Read last line of my signature :)
I forget the name of my psu, but its like almost best one for 260$
am i allowed to update Raid drivers within windows or not guys? yesterday, blue screen like 4-5 times, today 0
Here is a new beta for the S3:
http://www.station-drivers.com/telec...65p-s3_f9b.exe
F9b, reading a posting on Station-drivers suggests a new beta for the DQ6 (F10b) is coming soon, also F5e beta for the DS3P.
Im sorry but what is voltage failure on the oc?
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 EPS12V 750W is my power supply. Yesterday didn't have any BSOD, today within 15 min i had 3 or so. This is driving me crazy, i never ever had any with XP
Does anybody know if disabling AHCI will speed up the harddrive since disabling AHCI = disabling NCQ? Everywhere I've read, people gain significant performance boost by disabling NCQ. Has anyone had any luck disabling AHCI?

Can I re-post my little problem?
I've a Gigabyte P965-DQ6 bios F9 with an E6600 clocked @3600, 9x400.
When i power on my system (maybe you can see in my sign) everything startup without problem, but in Windows (Vista or Xp is the same thing) I see only a core is detected.
After a very normal reboot of Windows also the second core is detected.
I write the situation to Gigabyte Support, but they suggested that maybe could be a cpu problem. Due to fact, I don't think so.
Vcore is set to 1.4500 in bios, and more does not help...maybe more stability in case of hour and hour of orthos...
I'm quite sure that another mobo, or a corrected DQ6 bios, doesn't present my problem.
Any ideas or suggestion?
Anyone agreed with me?
Thanks and sorry if I'm became boring
does it happen at stock or a milder overclock? if not, it could be cpu is funny
absolutly no at stock, nor at 8x400(3200)...but today when I powered on the pc, during Intel Raid bios screen I have pressed reset button and Windows has detect both core at first shoot!
i think i've to write to Gigabyte Support again and hope to be not the only one...maybe they could be correct something in future bios releases...
what if you fiddle with settings like c1e or virtualization. shouldn't have an impact but you never know i guess.. what are you running for vfsb and vmch? tried bumping those?
I prefer to keep enable cpu's feature settings...specially c1e helps power saving
- at the moment i've set:
ddr2 +0,50
pci-e +0,10
mch +0,25
fsb +0,15
cpu 1,450
- ram timings are set manually, but using spd values(got from bios) for 800mhz.
- pci-express is set to 100mhz.
Hey guys, I updated RAID Drivers with the latest from gig website and have not had a BSOD for 2 days!!! Im super excited about this as it seems vista runs perfect. I even got my printer setup cause drivers just came out!!! I almost love it. I have SB ZS audigy 2 and had to take it out because with the beta drivers i get BSOD. So im running onboard sound. Too me sounds the same, im just loosing a bit of CPU power.
Happy overclocking everyone, im almost 100% happy now
C1e doesn't affect my overclock. I do drop to 6x at idle, but ramp up to 9x with superpi/etc. Some other guy many pages back said the same thing so i tried it and my max stable overclock was the same. No boot issues either.
Okay here's good one:
I installed Zonealarm firewall on to my system and after install, it requires to reboot system. So ok, i reboot and when i'm logging into windows, it hangs on..well i wait minute-two, nothing happens, so decided to restart system, by reset-button. System reboots and bios startup screen reads below mhz white text "BIOS CORRUPTED, ETC..." or something like that..the text is visible about 1 second and next system starts updating backup bios to main bios...and after it is complete, says only bios update complete. This point i'm little wtf just happend. Okay i restart the system, system boots and shutdowns..boot and shutdowns..and never ends. I tried everything, reset cmos..etc...but no, still same problem.
So, i guess dual-bios cannot save bios problems after all :D. My main bios was F8 and backup bios was F5.
Try inserting a single 1.8v dimm. Usually works in this instance. Did for me when one of my HZs died recently.
Station-drivers have new bios´s for our mobo´s.

Hey, that was the 'babel fish' translation. I don't speak a word of German so I have no idea.
However, I notice 'PCIe x1 bug'. I think that is all you really need to care about
Using my immense powers of deduction, however, I would interpret it thus:
"Helps to overcome the PCIe '1x' bug that can occur with certain combinations of components. Beta bios. Use only to test."
;)
I wonder if the PCIe-1 bug has always been there or introduced by a particular bios?
I don't have any PCIe-1 devices so I can't help.
cheers
^^ who does have PCIE x 1 cards??
The bug's not about PCI-E x1 cards, but standard x16 cards swithcng into PCI-E x1 mode (e.g. while OCing). The same bug is very common with Asus P965 mobos.
New DS4 bios @station-drivers...

f11b on rev1 c1 board doing 470x7 18 hours prime stable. this rig never got over 450fsb stable with any other bios. even boots 480 but cpu limited at that point. can't wait to try on my sig rig! very stable, no loop & poops at boot up...
There is also a beta for the DQ6, F10b...the file date says April 20th which is later then the F10c beta file which was April 12th.
But these dates are just when the files were uploaded, not the actual date of the bios build....as seen here
This f11b seems to be THE ONE for me! I was 100% stable at 7x489 with my 6300 but couldn't go any higher. And to top it off, to get to that speed, i had to go by small increments until i hit 489. Now, i can just go from default to 500x7 without a hitch!
Anyway, to sum it up, i'm loving this bios! :)
Funny , f11b seems ok yet not ok on my DS3 e6600:
f10: 9 x 400 stable boot/orthos
f11b: 9 x 400 unstable boot, BUT 8 x 450 stable boot/orthos blend.
f10: idle 31, load 58 9 x 400
f11b: idle 29, load 51 8 x 450.
Superpi is slightly better too...guess I'm sticking with 8 x 450 and f11b!
This is my take on the f11b BIOS on a rev1 c2 Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 mobo;
:woot:
Priming at 7x500 1:1, 30 minutes and still going! :D,
that would fail ( hard-lock ) after a couple of seconds on earlier BIOS's.
No post issues ... yet!

New Core Temp 0.95 now works with Vista:
http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/
F11b solves a lot of the reboot problems. Excellent. now i just need something that will let my rev 3.3 give more than 1.60vcore without screwing up the keyboard.
great thread, will really help me as I'm getting DS3
The F11b bios is less stable for me. F11a, I can boot at 9x357 no prolbem on my E4300. I played around with F11b for a couple hours trying many different settings but can not get the computer to boot at the same clock speeds. Reverted back to F11a and I can boot once more. F11b sucks for me
I get nothing but a endless rebooting cycle when warm booting or just shuts off and resets back to default clocks.even with the 11b bios. This motherboard is the biggest POS I have ever had. This is the DS3.  I should of just left my Intel BX2 in instead. Most of the time if I reboot it will shut down again revert back to default clocks.
is it possible to flash the gigabyte 965 s3 (rev 3.3) with the DS3 f11b bios? or it will cause problems?i have read in a forum that its the same thing except the capasitors..so whats your opinion? does anybody tried that with success?
I think it should be fine, but I'd wait for more opinions
I have seen the odd poster who allegedly flashed an S3 with a DS3 bios, no indication as to how it was done. I have tried command line flashing with FLASH895 and @BIOS in windows and I get the ID mismatch error too. Might be an older version of the flash tool will work.
Has anyone noticed odd or higher then normal temps with the new betas?
Using F10C my tems seem alot higher, maybe it's the weather...anyone?
yes i ve seen it too..i found this link that refers to crossflashing s3 rev 3.3 to ds3 f10...see it your self..but it is in dutch and i cant understand the rest procedure if there is one..
http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/...ages/1200910/0
if anyone can help us out it would be great..
ok the trick is an older version of @flash...the latest @flash dont let you flash the ds3 bios to S3 mobo , so i used @flash32 included in the gigabyte cd of my mobo..The system booted as a charm no problems at all..
So now i have a gigabyte 965p-s3 (rev3.3) flashed with 965p-ds3 bios f11b .This can be done as i said before only with @flash32(included on the motherboard cd) and NO with the latest @flash which is located in gigabyte site.
All tests passed succesfull orthos(still counting) and 3dmark 06...I didnt notice as far any differences from s3 f8 bios .
Man, BIOS F11b is great! I've been posting in this thread since August 2006 and my E6300 has never, under any circumstances, hit 3.2 GHz. Now I'm stable at 3.2 GHz 5-5-5-15. 4-4-4-12 still causes issues with my D9GMH, but I don't really care any more. I'm going to try for 3.3 this weekend.
aldamon, what vmch are you using? I presume +0.3v? 4-4-4-12 may be taxing on mch so requiring more voltage there
aldamon ,
I have the same memory as you .
I've put +0.2 on mch , +0.1 fsb and normal on pci-x .
Bios is now F11b . My memory runs 4-4-4-5 48hour orthos stable .
4-4-3-5 will make orthos crash after 9 hours .
I am running 470 fsb 1:1
Also keep in mind I can only put +0.3 on the dimms , which is 2.06 real V .
If I put more the board will not post .
I also noticed the F11b bios has very slightly less vdroop , but not enough to drop voltage on the cpu in my case .
With every other BIOS (F3, F4....F10, etc), I could only use +0.2 on the VDIMM. Anything higher crashed Orthos within minutes. I've tried +0.4 with 11b because the release notes for 11a said 4-4-4-12 worked @ 1000 @ 2.2V, but I don't think I tried +0.3 at my current FSB. I will try +0.3 tonight just to be sure. I'm pretty sure it will crap out though.
BTW, when you switch to +0.3 or +0.4, does the number turn pink on you or is it just me?
You guys with low vdimm restrictions could try vdimm mod to raise baseline a little. You can do by pencil if you desire. so for example if your sticks are 2.1v anyway, just set baseline until it goes from 1.8v to 2.1v. Then you'd have the ability to stretch to 2.3 or 2.4 depeding on how much you can change vdimm in bios.
Note though it may or may not work, since the higher vdimm might not be a bios issue but rather a board defect. I've seen it in a lot of ds3's, and two of mine were affected by it too.
Which is the latest bios for DS3P ?
An official beta from gigabyte DS4 bios F9d?
http://tw.giga-byte.com/Support/Moth...me=GA-965P-DS4
Does D9GMH work well with the latest bios? Or does it still have problems with stability and/or frequencies? And does any of Gigabyte's P965-boards make high-pitch noise especially when oc'd?
