This really deserves to come to fruition...I read the whole thread and things were really moving along and looking good until some months ago. I'm kinda disappointed now. From what I understand, a lack of confidence or interest has stalled this project.
I know what the "obsession for 6 months" thing is like, I'm a creative professional and sometimes I really get into the work I'm doing for a while and love working on it, then I suddenly lose interest or start to dislike it the more I have to deal with it. Some days I love the stuff I've made, and other days I see nothing but flaws and amateur mistakes, I can't really explain the mental states necessary for the love/hate, it just happens.
You can love the work again, give it a shot, it may not come immediately, but you can find the energy to finish what you started if you keep trying.
Do it for yourself, for us, and for your sponsors.

Unfortunately, sometimes our ambitions can be higher than our physical limits and or RL commitments will allow. This was a beautiful build, which I and many others had followed from the beginning. We know that some awesome ideas were realised from this build and I don't think anyone can regret the state that this work log is in now. No matter where this build finished, the epicycle of this build was just to great to be "done". It was a fun journey for everyone involved. The proof is that people are still reading and being exposed to this work log. Hats off to Xion for that :up:

I will level one criticism though regarding this build. To me, if you are going to solicit and accept sponsors, you are obligating yourself to complete the build at hand and give them the PR that they've earned by giving you stuff. There are a lot of people that would like to receive sponsors, but aren't able to find the sponsorship. I think this reflects negatively on the modding community for companies that sponsor builds, and hurts others who would appreciate having sponsors. Xion hasn't even posted at all on XS in over 4 months. Its not like he or any other modder really owes anyone anything, but if you solicit and accept sponsors, then I feel you do owe it to them to highlight what they've given you and finish what you start.

To me, the effort put into this outstanding mod is wasted if nothing ends up getting completed.

What voigts said, I think it does hurt other modders here that would seek sponsorship.

I hope the sponsored parts were returned, but I cant say that I would expect that to be true.

This hurts all new modders who seek sponsors and is a prime example of why I think you should be forced to have one really solid build under your belt before you even think about sponsorship.

this was one of the best builds I have ever seen...it deserves to be finished! so much time and effort don't let it go to waste xion!

I'm sorry, but to call this one of the best builds you have ever seen is an insult to all of the great builds we have seen over the years. (I am NOT talking about myself) To put G96GT, CharlesH, Malik, BlackFlag, Boddaker, OldNewby, Virtualrain, BillOwen, Voigts, and Coolmeister (INPO) on the same level as a less than half finished build with an abandoned maker is quite a bold comment to make.

Once again sorry Xion, its nothing personal, but this build doesn't even come close to the top list of any mods. If anything please take my harsh but true comments as motivation to finish the build.

you are out of your mind if you dont think this is one of the top builds out. Not saying some of the people listed aren't great builders, they are, but to deny this guy just cause it was unfinished. His attention to detail is top notch as is his craftsmanship. Also note ONE OF means it could be 1 out of 10 of the best builds or 1 out of 100 of the best builds since there is about a million horrible builds.

anyway like said maybe unfinished but talent is definitely there.

You do realize that a solid 70% of this thread is pictures of products on their own, parts that have already been shown multiple times (the side panel), and some pictures of tools at work and such. Little substance for a 45 page thread.

And don't call me ignorant, I am so far from it you have no idea.

Edit: I absolutely said this build has potential and I followed it with support for many weeks, but potential ≠ success

I'm with you on this one SNiiPE. What good is a mod that never gets finished, especially when it has been sponsored? Not much in my book.

There is nothing to get back at. This build is dead. The OP doesn't have the time to deal with this build. It happens sometimes. Really epic builds are hard to see through from start to finish... :shakes: And I agree with Snipe on just about everything he said. It was a real shame to be hyped up by this build and the direction that it was going back then (check it -- we were here the whole time giving input). All I can really say is that it takes some serious project management skills to see all the really nice, sponsored builds all the way through, from design to completion. :rolleyes:
