I'm also on 1204. Still the same problem though. When I see the post screen I always see the standard speed of 3.3 GHz. When stressed in windows cpu-z (1.56.3) also shows 3.3 GHz. The Asus turbo-v software shows the correct multiplier I just entered in the Bios though (45x).Quote:

No need to change the offset value ( I was just testing some stuff ) and keep ya rams at 1600mhz. CPU will step down to 1600mhz when idle with the above..
I've had a load of problems with this board, at stock settings it kept freezing in windows 7, I simply couldn't use the computer.
I oc the cpu to 4.5 and it's working fine now, I tried 4.6 @ 1.335/1.345v but prime95 failed on core0, with 4.7 @ 1.375v prime95 failed on the same core0
I'm running it now and it's linx and prime stable @ 4.5ghz with 1.320v, I probably can lower the volt but haven't gotten around to testing that yet.

Seeing as I get freezing constantly having to reset/power off my pc at stock settings, is there anything I can do or should I just rma the board as it's can't be working within intels specs if thats happening?

Um, you put vDram to auto? Even Asus said that you should put that to your ram's spec. Anyway, did you change any voltage to be at 8 9 8 24@ 1866?
yep this was before I achieve my OC after that you can start dialing RAM to your standards ,my set is rated for 1.5V but at that V MB was overheating at higher clock ..simple v bump fix the issue,@1866 1.6V is all you needQuote:

Anybody has tried pushing one core higher and other 3 at lower speed?
That could be useful for single treated applications, but I'm wondering how would it impact the stability. Anybody has played with it yet?

I'm regretting not buying the gigabyte board that I initially wanted but the reviews were good for the asus pro.

I didn't read anyone here complain about it but would love to hear from anyone experiencing freezing at stock settings with the asus P8P67 pro.
I have the same freeze dude. I also have the 2500K overclocked to a 4.5Ghz, but at 1.32 my system wasn't stable though. Well, prime failed after 2 hours, so you might wanna try running more than an hour though. I managed to get fully stable with pretty much everything on default except for the vcore to offset > auto.Quote:

With the vcore I've set it manually to 1.32, ok it sucks that it idles at 1.32 but

I have one issue with bios 1204 and 1253. My PC will not go to sleep. My CPU is OC'ed to 4Ghz, all the BIOS settings are at their default setting.

Can anyone please tell me what the hell is going on with my boards (P8P67 Deluxe) bus speed ? I have flashed both 1204 and 1253 and it keeps happening. 70mhz each time. I have used several different versions of cpu-z and aida to confirm this. My video card keeps getting a driver stopped responding error so I know that its actually running at 70mhz. I have tried changing the bus speed to 101 and 99 and it still boots to 70.

No, SBs can't do that much bclk change. However, you can get all the ram speed in the world with bclk 100.
i know than we can get all the "officials" ram speed as 1600, 1800, 1866, 2000, 2133... but can we set a 1600mhz ram to 1678 or 1721mhz for exemple?

Some interesting observation on vCore-scaling:
4.0GHz = 1.144v
4.2GHz = 1.176v
This means it needs 0.032v (1.176v - 1.144v) to scale for these 200Mhz, or 0.016v for each 100MHz.
Then, 4.5Ghz should need 1.176 + 0.048 (3 x 0.016), also it should be:
4.5Ghz = 1.224v
For 3 days ago, I testes with 1-hour prime and got
4.5GHz = 1.272v
This means, it is not scaling propositionally from 4.2GHz to 4.5GHz
There is a big gap between calculated propositional scaling (1.224v) and the actual (1.272v) vCore for 4.5Ghz. We have to cont on some error-margins too, but this gap is too big for that.
Either my CPU is turned to a Persian carpet (LoL, they get better when you use them) in last 3 days, or there is a vCore bump/jump between 4.2GHz and 4.5GHz.
I will try to test 4.4GHz tomorrow hopefully, and then 4.5GHz again, and it should answer most of it.
You can run BCLK up to about 105 or so, but beyond that it stats to get dicey. So 1600 running at a BCLK of 105 would get you 1680 on the RAM, but I don't know that it is worth the hassle/risk.Quote:

I do not get the offset. It does not work correctly. If I offset +.08 from 1.27, that should be 1.35 but during linx it jumps to 1.39. The more you offset, the worse it gets. From 1.27 + .20 should be 1.47, but during linx it jumps up to almost 1.6 freaking volts.
I have the latest Beta and I still get the cold double boot.
Trying to find my best 24/7 now at around 1.375v. It will probably be 4.6-4.7. This is the best I have done so far. I tried 5.1 @ 1.5v but it BSOD @ 19 passes of Linx.....so close.
It really doesn't matter. As soon as my 570 blocks get here, the UD7 goes in and the 470's come out so I can have true dual 16x instead of dual 8x.
The SSD is sitting there because hot swap bay 3 had a bad SATA cable. I didn't feel like tearing it apart yet, so that's why you see the red cable. :) I'm going to move my four SSD's to the bottom two racks and my three normal SATA drives to the hot swap bays.

According to AnandTech, only the 3GB Intel SATA ports are affected. The 6GB Intel ports appear to be unaffected. I assume that means the Marvell ports and Jmicron e-Sata are also unaffected but who knows... In any case, if you have a hard drive on the 3GB Intel port with critical information, might be wise to move it to another port until they sort this all out.Quote:

My 2 cents about offset mode.
It works far better than setting manual voltage.
Manual is very buggy, I had 20x Intel Burn Test Max stable overclock with 46x100 1.270V, and got BSOD just listening to Winamp and browsing, upped voltage by 0.01, still BSOD while playing Dead Space 2, finally had to up it from 1.270 to 1.290 to get it 100% stable.
Offset mode on the other hand doesn't even require long stress testing, it is stable if it passes 3DMark 05/06/Vantage, if not I just up the voltage by 0.01V. On manual I had to use 1.350V (1.320-1.336 in CPU-Z) for 4.8GHz. With offset that would be +0.075V, but it is completely stable with just +0.045V (1.296-1.328 in CPU-Z).

On my Deluxe I cannot use my USB or PS2 keyboard when I get the Windows ended abnormally or Windows failed to load messages. Neither one reacts although they both work in the BIOS fine. I've been having an issue with my USB mouse that I believe may be related to the computer going into sleep mode.
The computer comes out of sleep mode fine, except that the mouse sometimes will not respond unless I unplug it from the USB and then plug it back in. After that, sometimes there is unusual behavior with the mouse and clicking, for example, sometimes I can't seem to click the "back" button on my browser even though other things still click.
I believe it started when I plugged in a second monitor as an extended desktop. I tried switching from my Nvidia 480 to an ATI card, but it didn't help resolve the issue.
I'm going to try some more testing by going back to one monitor and or disabling sleep mode to see if the problems happen. I've tried various USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports front and back, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Any other ideas?

As far as booting up past x51, it seems to not be applying at all(or enough?) internal PLL overvoltage as it does the same blinking command prompt at 100x45 if not enabled.
Finally solved my problem. I was unable to increase the turbo to above 33, no matter which values I entered in the bios. The problem were some ssd register tweaks I did right after the Windows installation. Somehow some register values must influence the turbo mode. A fresh install fixed the problem. Played with Offset for about 4 hours last night, in none of my situations was it better than manual. That went for 4.0, 4.2, 4.5, 4.8 and 5.0 profiles.
The offset voltage can get tricky. The issue is the amount of applied voltage throughout the range of idle to full load. Dial in the necessary offset to achieve full stability. Then try different levels of LLC to bring the full load voltage down. You may have to use a fairly large offset to drop down to the next lower LLC setting. Also when using offset voltages it is best to monitor VCORE with a DMM or scope instead of software.
i think the issue with offset is the vcore given on low cpu usage which is too low.
try linx on 1 thread you will see what i mean.
for example me i normaly need about 1.38v for 4.8 ghz but when i was trying offset with ultra high llc with 1.41 on max vcore i was still not stable.
then i tryed linx on 1 thread and i noticed that my vcore could go at like 1.280v for 4.8 ghz
what worked for me to have a higher mini vcore on load but not too high max vcore is medium llc with higher offset.
Now my min vcore on load is 1.320v and my max on 8 thread is 1.4v.
yes its still a bit higher than my manual vcore,but i dont use apps fully loading my cpu like linx so im rarely at 1.4 v.

I picked up the Deluxe board just a few days before the Intel defect was announced. Now I'm not sure whether to install the board and wait for the replacement to be released or just return it.
Is the immaturity of the Bios enough to swing toward just returning it and waiting for the new release in April?
just use sata6 ports or the marvell until april
Just use it. Asus has a replacement program which by that time you'll get a new board with a newer rev. and bios.

Hard to beat offset voltage for 24/7 use when dialed in properly. A little less the 0.375V difference in the screenshots below between idle and load.

Yea but just like that, you are using way too much voltage to be stable with offset. With manual, you could probably bring that about .05 further down.Quote:

@offtopic : Still got issues with the Sabretooth : cold boot issue, not resuming from S3, USB overvoltage error (with 1204 bios and only USB mouse connected), not being able to lower PCH voltage (stuck at 1.05)...
