Thanks,
My ram passes many passes of memtest at DDR3-1600 7-8-7-21 1T.
I'm finally stable at 4.1 GHz but it took buying a 940 to do it! The extra 2 multi's go a long way to helping an overclock.

Finally i have build my sytem with a Asus P6T Deluxe V2 !!
My sig. you can see under the message/picture.
I have just run my system everything on stock and Auto (not touch the Bios yet) with my Chess program and put all information on a screen.
I have also make a Excel file with my Bios settings! If someone want to take a look or even fill in the settings what i have to put in my Bios to get 3.4Ghz to start with.Because i have alot off testings on my Q6600 g0 @3.4Ghz and want to compare them, and after that i want go to 4Ghz if this cpu can handle it to stay stable with my Chess program with HT on 100% 24/7 !!
So,any input is welcome:up:

Anyone try Bios 1206? For me, BIOS 1102 caused BSODs when trying to encode video from AVI to DVD format. I wonder if anyone can try Convert X to DVD using BIOS 1206 and see if you get crashes?
does anyone know if anyone have tried to insert a V2 bios in a V0?
is there a possibility? seems like maximus formula X38 and rampage formula
X48... :D
Has anybody tried flashing the P6T Deluxe V1/V2 with the R2E bios?
I thought 1206 is still beta since its not yet visible on Asus download page. Or at least it wasn't the day before yesterday. So I didn't try 1206 yet because my system is stable at current settings. I only have some issues with double booting and OC profile not working when SATA is enabled.
As far as I know 1206 only provides better memory compatibility but I'm not sure (thought I read it somewhere across the forum).
i've managed to gain some extra bandwidth with this new bios 1206, from this
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/p...hemem18941.png
to this... even with higher frenquencies with old bios couldn't pass 16k... with HT disabled
i have to check the fixes...
Just built this system and I'm coming from a Socket 775 setup does anyone have a bios template for oc'ing I7 920 on this board. I've noticed alot of changes in the bios from my old P5K. If someone could get me started in the right direction I would really appreciate the help. All my componets are listed in my Sig. Many thanks to those of you who help.
I have one question, how to manage 22 multi with this mb, because with turbo I have only 21? http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=498953
For the guys using liquid cooling on this board is it possible to liquid cool just the mosfets leaving the SB/NB Chipset heatsinks alone?? Do I have to physically cut the copper link from from SB/NB to the Mosfets or can I unscrew the link pipe from the main stock[black heatsink] ???
Thanks
Hi all,
I'm just wondering how safe is to keep the QPI/DRAM volt. at 1.4v and the CPU PLL at 1.9v for 24/7 given the temperatures are quite within the reasonable range under stress-tests like OCCT or Prime. Heard that Asus does not recommend to raise the uncore voltage above 1.35.
The point is that it won't work stable at lesser voltage so to keep my OC (BCLK 191) I have to raise the voltage that way.
Thanks.
What does C-State even do?
From what I understand its simply designates the lowest system adjusted power state, shutting cores down in the process.
http://download.intel.com/design/pro...=tech_tb+paper
it that normal in vista 64bit show only 2g ram only??i curntly using p6t dlx and ram corsiar xms3 3g chanel 1600hz cl9..
I really haven't done any significant testing with the different C states myself other than set at C1 or C7.
I've been running mine with lowest state of C1 which keeps it from boosting over 21 and keep all cores awake which is what I wanted, I could probably disable C states altogether but haven't tired that yet.
Not sure about how the states affect cache or memory speed personally I but think I'll probably disable C states all together next reboot.
there is any beta bios avaible for the asus p6t deluxe v2?
thanks
i took my p6t back. It kept locking up in bios and bsod on me.
I feel your pain!
I have a 920 (batch 3837b317) that will not hit 4ghz stable, and I've seemed to have tried everything you have as well (even higher voltages actually). And I just read on the EVGA forum that someone hit 5ish ghz with a 920 from the same batch as mine...doh!
Anyway, I'm using the p6t6 revolution mobo- not exactly the same bios I know, but very similar to the p6t from what I can tell. I also have the x58 evga board. On my asus, any bclock/multi combo that would yield 4ghz will either not post or bluescreen during prime or linx stability testing with a machine check exception error. Now from what I can tell, that is usually a cpu vcore or cpu vtt voltage issue. I've increased vcore to 1.475 and QPI vcore to 1.425, and it is still unstable. Is there a cpu vtt adjustment on the asus p6 series boards? I can't find it on my revolution, and I found it helped me with machine check exception bluescreens on my evga board. EDIT: I guess the QPI/DRAM voltage is the CPU VTT equivalent on ASUS boards.
Thanks for any insight... (I'm priming my asus rig at 3.8 ghz as we speak...not even sure if that is stable yet)
I don't understand why people are having problems with the P6T Deluxe. I have mine running at 3.8 GHz and it's been Rock Stable. This really makes me curious as I've owned MSI,Gigabyte and every other board in the past and ASUS is and has been my board of choice since I started building High End systems for my many customers. There's got to be something being done wrong for results like this. Mind you I did have a lower end board give me a problem back in 2003,,but that was just a bad board.I normally don't say too much, usually look and listen but this is Strange,Very Strange.
Well, I got 3.8 GHz (19*200) prime stable for 12 hrs. It took a vcore of 1.4v and a QPI/DRAM of 1.35.
I noticed on the EVGA and some other boards, the NB (IOH) voltage is often set in the 1.4v area for 4ghz OC's. The ASUS p6 boards' IOH default voltage is about 1.1v if I remember. I tried raising my IOH voltage to about 1.26 with no luck as far as a 4GHZ OC, but I was afraid to push it to 1.4v as I think that was a "red" voltage. I suppose it is comparing apples and oranges, but has anyone tried using IOH voltage values of around 1.4 on asus p6 boards to see if it helps with higher clocks?
I have mine running 4.0 (211 * 19) with HT on at 1.296 in bios and 1.288 - 1.296 in CPU-Z. this is LinX stable at 25 passes.
I also run 4.2 Ghz (200 x 21) with HT off at 1.33 in bios, also Linx Stable at 25 passes.
Last night I tried running 4.3 Ghz (205 x 21) with HT off at 1.36 or 1.37 but it wasn't LinX stable. I did play Wow for about an hour and a half with no crashes though, so maybe it will still work.
I am running a 940 though.
Don't know I've been running the P6T Deluxe OC Palm edition since before it went retail and it's been rock stable with a ton of hardware I've had in it.
You probably got a funky board cause I've tested 7-8 kits of ram, 9 - 10 top end GPU's, 2 - 3 PSU and everything I've thrown in it has been good to go.
Probably one of the best boards I've had. I've got an MSI Eclipse setting in the box and it was ok but not in the same league as the P6T Deluxe.
well this board is not the very best, i know that. but i've changed to other brand (d..) and then bought this P6T DLX AGAIN, sooooo....:shrug::shrug:
Even with 2 difference board same model it still doesn't give me the trouble i like it and the bios feature is nice compare to other i think.
Maybe you have a defected board.
There's a new bios 1303.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/asus/mb/LG...ELUXE-1303.zip
1303 bios is able to use x21 multi
so now we get 1 free MP????
We need screen shot!!!!!
Welcome to XS!!!
so now our 920's will have max oc' ability?
Since I now have a 940, I should also get 23 as the max multiplier. This may let me get 4.1G and 1790 on my RAM.
Will try tonight!
but I told you even now you can use always the multiplayer at 21x !!!!!!
http://www.pctunerup.com/up/results/...56_Cattura.JPG
look at my bios version :)
:eek2::eek2: Can we get any more confirmations about the 21x multiplier here?? If this is real, I love you Asus!!!
yes is true we can use the 21x multiplier
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/3088/img014v.jpg
Well I updated my bios to 1206 hoping to be able to manually select the 21 multiplier but still a no go for me, reverts back to 20 after hitting enter, even tried scrolling the list with +/-.
I explained you how to do it with previous bios: you should set the cpu ratio control in auto speed step enable turbo enable and c1e disable....don't care about the firts bios post; go to windows and open cpu z and you will see that the cpu multiplier is always set to 21x as I show you....:)
Ok, I just updated to the 1303 BIOS and I can also confirm, it allows you to directly key in the 21x multiplier with the i7 920! I am using that setting now!
EDIT:
Aww... while you can use the 21x multiplier now, it's functionality is the same as Turbo mode, it drops back to 20.5 and 20x under very heavy loads for a while.
I confirm that it makes the 23 multi available full time with the 940 chip! Booted briefly at 4.5GHz!
Only thing is does me no good. My memory can't run fast enough.
I did find out though that my Corsair dominators will run at 1700, but only at 1.6V and not at 1.64V!
New bios for ASUS P6T DELUXE V2 - 0302:
P6T-ASUS-DELUXE-V2-0302
What i am wondering is if someone knows how to fix this problem:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p.../MemoryWTF.jpg
You see how cpu-z shows 6gb, which is what i have, but windows AND BIOS both report 4gb.
And NO i dont have any BENT cpu pins. Ive checked, and double checked, and even took a dayam maginifing glass to triple check.
Somehow and somewhere i lost 2gb. And yes ive checked my RAM, there good.
Oh and this problem is not just mine, my friend Shazza has this problem, as does 1 other person who posted in this thread.
See here's another.
Oh and heres another, its not just the P6T-Deluxe im seeing that has this issue. But all of them including the R2E.
I think its just this TDP or current limit which is disabled on e.g. GB UD5.
hey , ppl ...
check P6T deluxe FTP directory on ASUS ftp ( ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/asus/mb/LGA1366/P6T_Deluxe/ )
am am omg em hmmm i saw something strange there ...
something like this :
http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/6084/12132.th.jpg

i tried to download this files but couldn't open them
i wouldnt be suprised if the dlx went though another revsion.
as i said my memory problem is very common.
A lot of you guys should check in windows to see if your really gettting what you installed.
My honest advice those of you that are looking to get this board... STAY AWAY FROM IT.
Its trash compared to the eVGA and Giggy.
YES!! 21x Multi does work in 1303
I'm priming 191x21 as I type this hopefully all goes well I will post some results..... I was stable @3.8 on my new 920 batch 3836A925 with only 1.24v 36c idle but for 191x21 I need 1.35v and idle is at 41-42c
Mine took a week to get it due to stock, arrived last week thursday posted it back to the supplier yesterday as it was a DOA...
Don't like waiting :(
No,see below quote. I have SpeedStep, C1E and CPU TM Function disabled.
Correct. And it is a big problem because the 20x multiplier is way less stable than the 21x. So when I am priming along at 200x21 fully stable, and then eventually it drops to the 20x multiplier, BSOD follows shortly afterward :(
I have e-mailed this issue to my higher up contact at Asus. They never respond to me, but I believe they are listening to what I say, because I had also e-mailed them about the lack of 21x and 23x multiplier, and poof! We now have the 1303 BIOS! :)
a small overclock with the multiplayer at 21x
how is the result?
http://www.pctunerup.com/up/results/...1_Cattura4.JPG
Pretty cool, what HSF are you using and what batch#? I can't seem to get stable 191x21 BSOD 15-20 min in but 200*19 1.24v all day :(
ovviusly I don't know if I am stable or not :asd:
my 3835A726.....I have to try it also with ln2 and see what I can do....now I am on h2o and at 4200ghz with the same vcore I could'not enter windows beacouse of a blue screen.....I will try again when I will have time :)
I have the Asus P6T Deluxe non Palm addition and would like some help in ocing please. I have updated to the 1303 bios and I'm running these components Core I7 920 cpu with a Notcua NH-u12p cooler and this memory ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231225 ). I 've set my AI to the XMP profile and set my multiplier to 21 everything else is on auto. When I raise my Bclk to anything past 150 it will not boot. My memory voltage is set to 1.50. I see that alot of people are achieving good oc's with this board . Am I doing something wrong or perhaps missing some settings. If someone has a OC template for this board and cpu could you please help me out? Thanks for your help and time , I appreciate it very much.
Thanks for the info and help. I'll give it a go.
LinX
Just a suggestion, rather than setting it to use all system memory, take the max amount it displays and subtract 100mb or so. Or you may start running into virtual memory issues which will make the test not accurate.
It's taking me 1.4vcore to get the CPU stable at 21x with a 191BCLK.
My chip batch is 3836B. Isn't that vcore a bit high?
Also, I have HT On.
my cpu will pass linx 191x21 but fail p95 blend i've tried with vcore up to 1.375 but temps get way to high to try more vcore
Look carefully at the CPU speed with CPU-z or Realtemp while using high stress with the 21x multiplier. Use LinX if possible. You will notice the multi will drop back to 20x, where it is less stable than 21x...
what does the ICH and IOH voltage directly affect?
is there going to be a bios update for the p6t?
that would suck if there's no 21x
Is there any good guide online how i should start to oc?
What settings to enable and disable in the bios etc???
I've got a feser 360 with push-pull config but I'm new to oc'ing :)
Yes I'm currently looking for a TRUE 120, although the Zalman 9700 does great for 3.8 but I want to shoot for 4.0GHz
Any adapters for the Tuniq Tower 120? Will it do better than the hyper N520? It seemd to do a good job on my q9550.
I am looking for a good kit triple channel ram 3x2gb for overclock on this board what do you suggest me?
I think I read somewhere that the Tuniq is not capable of properly cooling an overclocked i7 because it gets so hot that the liquid in the heatpipes evaporates and is unable to properly condense again, which leads to very ineffective cooling. The Thermalright TRUE is supposed to be the best as far as air cooling goes, maybe aside from those two gigantic coolers from Scythe. Keep in mind, this is just what I've heard. I don't have any personal experience here and can't guarantee the accuracy of the information.
This is the stuff to have.
