I don't know but I know you can trust the validity of the BIOS's he shares so don't worry and go ahead flashing (I just did).
:D Yep - pmp, You're the man...............
And I spent so many nites tweakin' the 0115..............
This BIOS seems to be the golden one - only tested it for 10 min. yet but 3:5 divider works (200 strap), the refresh rate shown in memset changes now depending on the RAM speed, my RAM needs less Vdimm (0.2 - 0.4), it boots much faster and runs completely stable without need to set all the tweaks..... - I left all skews (RAM,NB,CPU) at AUTO and had no problems..........
Will do some further tests soon of course..........:p:
Who's written this BIOS? I wanna donate a beer...........:yepp:
:welcome:
Glad to hear that
Well you can donate me with a beer, i will drink it with local Harry Potter.
As i stated. From Potter's pocket :D
Cheetah Cheetah Cheaath haha :) Yup. PM me if you have any q.
Hi Folks :D
I'm totally unable to get my computer to boot if I set 500fsb or more AND my memory stick -and that's the point I am lost with...- at their 900Mhz and latencies(8-7-6-21...). This regardless the strap / vnb(too much of this is really bad here) / twister thing and PL I could ever try to set  Ah! also I tried DIMM 1+3 & 2+4 naturally
I didn't tried the skews at all because I think they are made to be adjusted on a valid set up, which is far from my actual case!
BUT: all this is possible: strap 200, 471x9 ram at 955, cas8: http://pix.nofrag.com/5/e/0/e4996944...b5e3b967tt.jpg @ 1.9vddr and other strap, cas7 http://pix.nofrag.com/9/6/3/86ca97cd...a17d36dbtt.jpg @ 2.1vddr.
These setups do 3Dmarks with succes: http://pix.nofrag.com/b/6/b/faad5616...7b156f97tt.jpg
I'm so lost, at the moment I saw arround hundreds of times that D4 code, which means according to the manual, "memory test".
Some one here has already given me lost of time to fix that, and 'did no matched unfortunately
I'd be so thankfull IF someone could try to help me again
wow, are you the only one who can help ?
Thanks a lot mate ;)
Maybe someone else has met that D4 code... who knows.
I can tell that it happens under all bios that ive tried and with cheap corsair/ocz/asus ram's, also with good low speed ocz and with my actual D9GTR-mounted Cell Shock sticks.
I'm getting quite sure it is my board that sucks arround DDR and Vnb...
I continue like this and see what goes on because I ordered some 14400 G-Skill yes, so I'll be fixed when they arrive.
Bye and have fun there
:D I owned Cellshock black 1800, Cellshock blue 1866, Corsair Dominator 1800 and now the G.Skill 1600 GBHZ - it seems my board fell in love with this RAM........:p:
Maybe with a different brand You have to change either PL or tRFC (88?) or RAM skew.............;)
:welcome:
trfc 88 is what I keep atm, and about the skews, not tried seriously yet. Do you think that might solve this? there are many skews setts since the new bios is out ... I'll give a try but looks very complicated to me at this time.
Also, does any body has issues with "high" (1.55v+) vNB ?
:D I run 1.45 vNB @ 500 FSB - above 500 I have to give 1.55 (550 - 580 FSB) - but my NB is under chilled water...........:p:
I'm very happy with the new 0504 BIOS - here I can leave all skew settings at AUTO (RAM and CPU and NB) without getting any trouble.
But as I said - that's with the GF.Skill 1600 GHBZ - maybe different RAM needs some more finetuning on it;).
buenas
good news at last, the board was really dead and the store exchange it for a new one that arrives today :D
lets see how the tests goes and maybe i´ll flash to 0504 later
regards
I'm sorry to read that it "died" and glad for the ecovering of it ;)... May I ask you what happend please? Be ready for the fsb you mifgt reach with 0504 :p:
With more performing cooling than mine on the NB, you will certainly reach 630 bro ;)
Bye and have fun ;)
it simply died after a reboot i was not doing anything special
for now i will not push it to the "limit" for safety reasons and other motive is because already buy 2 x 4870 :D that will be a priority tests in the next days.
but of course i´ll post results in the thread specialy ram tests with the 0504 bios to see it there is any improvement, high FSB´s for me is not very important because we dont need to use for 24\7.
Without doing anything special  gosh!!
ok for the duo of HD 4780 :p: waiting to see high scores then ;)
Bye
:D First FSB test 7.5 x 600 with new BIOS 0504:p: - notice RAM is not tweaked here & set to 1:1 - only testing FSB:
http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/7...x600bb9.th.jpg
Not maxed out - boot up & runs fine even at first try so there will be more FSB potencial.
:up::up::up:
hy
back from the dead new board has arrive yesterday :yepp:
that 0504 bios is revealing alot of potencial must trie as fast as possible :p: but the 4870 cards only arrive next week so for now no 3d :shakes:
keep posting, btw did anyone see this thread:

-1,5 vfsb
-1,5 vpll
-1,2vsb
-GTLRefcpu 0.67
-GTLRefnb 0.61
-COC 1.00
-LLC perf
I can't say much for my 3DM01 score, but I am happy about the fsb. The new bios is heaven sent. I didn't ever think I could run 600fsb with this 8500 chip. Actually I'm running 614 fsb atm. If I can run 01 all the way, I'll add screenshots. I'm also very happy with the G.Skill PC3-12800CL7
I just noticed vcore is set to high.
alo
mounted the system a few hours ago, flashed to 0504 and tried some ram tests but still cant get 1T even at default DDR1600
something is not right here all the HZ that have seen works with 1T, tried already camouflage settings since that the hardware is the same and no way simply reboots after windows bar appears :(
bad luck or bad sticks?
btw good results runmc
I have the same memory as Camo but I'm running at 2.10v on the ram I can't run performance level at 8 with CL7 :(
with 2T there is no problems, DDDR1800 7-7-7-18-60 PL7 \ Stronger daily use but with 1T as i said not even at default
diden´t push the vdim more than 2,0v because asus boards makes overvoltage of 0,6v +/- and also because i don´t have a fan to cool them, even with 1,9v are extremely hot but also 30º degrees of ambient temp "helps" alot !
regards
really nice board :yepp:
helpful thread also
very nice see X48 @ that FSB Just Bo can do that :D, what about CB guys someone tried with new bios?
do you guys know if the 4GB HZ and the 2GB HZ use the same modules?
are your sticks double sided?
I was planning on buying the 4GB HZ kit but since people here are happy with their 2GB kits, I may opt for 2 sets of the 2GB.
I have asked the same question on GSkill support thread but haven't gotten a response yet.
Thanks
I have a q9450 that has done between 3.7-3.8 GHz on ABit IP35 Pro on air with Thermalright 120 Extreme.
I am planning on getting this x48 board along with 2 ATI 4870s since I have been happy with my Asus WS board and need the x48 chipset to get the most out of the crossfire.
Do you think I can squeeze more speed out of the CPU with this board?
Also on average, how much of an extra overclock on the quad cpu should I expect if I switch to decent watercooling?
+1 We know you do it the air way, what about Vnb for example ?
I meet a wall when setting anything from 1,59vnb. Quite boring  I think I didn't changed the thermal paste correctly( what else reason for would the vnb bug this much high vnb voltages boots???)... I'm also under air for the vnb, it is, at alny setting, not too hot at all so I think the contact isn't bad atm. Would a 12 centimeters in tubing water cooling be efficient to solve my issue or is it the mobo I finnally wonder :p: ??
Bye
Is there anything wrong with my mainboard ? When I set 1.61vnb and whatever other settings arround the computer doesn't boot at all.
NB heat pipe is not too hot, as it should be I think. I get 33/D9/31... codes and the ram diag led is permanently lighted on in that case.
Any idea? Thx
On my MB the max NB voltage I can set and still boot is 1.61 (I use stock NV cooler with replaced TIM and a 120 mm fan blowing on it). I think it is a heat/protection issue but don't know for sure.
I am quite annoyed with my MB right now. It could run Prime 95 blend for 22 h at 445x9 8-7-7-24 1N but would give spontaneous BSODs at idle. I'm pretty sure that (like others have reported) that it is caused by using Performance LLC since I tested everything at stock speed all voltages on auto and LLC on Performance and got a BSOD while surfing.
Is this a quadcore exclusive issue since I see all of you Wolfdale users (and 2GB memory users) beeing happy as can be. I know Rob Halford also have this experience but is it common or isolated observations? Is it reason for RMA (I guess not since LLC Auto/Normal is following Intel spec). It ruins my OC to use LLC Normal since I have a huge V-drop.
Thx Holmer. I don't think it would be because of any heat, because I notice -even at high frequencies on FSB and ram that it is cold as should be, not more. Not sure neither. Right now I'm thinking to find the VNB reading point to try any pencil mod of it, but I never could find the place to apply the pencil :(
About the LLC on My C2D, I leave it on performance all the time, vdroops too much without it. But with a quad I don't know yet, should give it a try :)
Same here Holmer. LLC set to performance = bsod. Using auto with my daily settings (9.5 X 421 @1.35v) same. If i set normal everything is fine. With E8500 that is..
Not tried them yet tbh. I think i may need better cooling for NB first, its very very stock right now :D
Yes - thermal compond on NB was changed to ceramic but pads were left on mosfets and SB
I tried 1:1 once and it didn't boot. Then I went back to 2:3 with much higher memory clocks and it booted. I don't have much time to experiment in bios because of my video card cold bugQuote:

tested tonight @ LN2 this mobo have ColdBoot @ -105 and ColdBug @ -120 :mad::mad::mad:
bad news for the coldboot hiwa
the LLC set to performence is really a pain in the ass, have the PC 24\7 always on since friday and no problems, today i needed to restart and after 1m turned on caput reboot
change it the LLC to normal and so far 100% stable again, is there any "real" explantion for this?

Hu there,
I would like to know how I should proceed to use the NB_OV on this mobo, I don't know which pins to get connected. The manual doesn't tell... does anybody knows?
Thx
dont know either, try the Vmods section of the forum where normaly is posted that kind of stuff.
dont get mad there are worst things in life :p:
just sell the board it wont be hard to find buyers and try another model with already good results and no coldbug
ok, thanh you. Here I just want to make sure (english not good enough...): If I want to get the possibility to set more than 1.57v on the NB, I must solder pin 2&3 or 1&2 ? I ask it again also because I got another answer telling me to get 1&2 connected to enable overvoltage on NB... Or I misunderstood that answer ??
I need to be certain of that before proceeding, I hope you understand why I ask for it again.
You get only 1.57 without OV jumper? Isn't 1.9V max without a jumper?
Does any guru here know if the P5E64 Evo can support DDR3-1333 4X2G RAM? I have ordered this board and should have it next week and planning to run it with a QX9650 and the OCZ3P16004GK (2X2G kit, 2kits). I got this at the same price as the DDR3-1333 kits. I am not looking to OC so I will just be running them @ DDR3-1333 speed. Will they work on this board for a total up to 8G stable?
I can't seem to run them stable on my current X48T-DQ6......
Hi guys, I scanned through the thread and did see it but i didnt check your sigs to see, but have any off you had trouble with raptorsX on this board. I cant seem to get windows to install in raid0 with INtel, Marvel, or on a single raptor. Im installing windows as we speak on a Samsung spinpoint F1 (at the format point) but raptors a no go. I know the raptors are good, I get the blue screen that terminates windows due to virus, drive controller, bad faulty drive and suggest i do a checkdisk (Ill do after).
Any ideas.
Camo i striped the board down and mimicked yours with the Ek, thermalright, zalman.
got one raptor going... strange, running xp on it now, try to get the other. then will come the OC questions
reason i asked was some find that the P45 have problems with the raptors.
I do not have a good luck with 0504 BIOS:
with 0115, 400:800 can live 1 hour in p95-blend
with 0504, 400:800 can live several hours, but ends up with a sudden frozen death...
And with 0504 it seems that my QX9650 cannot run at FSB 333...(a quick BSOD during or after windows boot)
Could someone tell me when each divider can be selected?
Shadewither do you have load line calicration set to "auto" ? Sounds like it, got same here with 0504, set it to normal and try again.
here is a spi32M at 600FSB ram900 cas7 2.04vddr http://images4.hiboox.com/images/270...92d85dbce4.jpg and Everest BP at the same settings
http://images4.hiboox.com/images/270...26fb1191ac.jpg
Cpu-z 1.46 reads memory frequency incorrectly here  I had to open the previous to get that fixed...
Anybody else having issues running ATI 4850/4870 in crossfire on this MB: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=193370 I know he at last gave up getting it working properly. I wonder is it a general problem or an isolated one?
I still haven't heard from pmp concerning the "LLC set to Performance issue" but I sure have it still - very annoying. Now testing LLC on Normal to find out how far that will bring me - not as far as Performance I know.
Has anyone tried to flash P5E64 WS PRO to P5E64 WS EVO?
Thanks!
Is it possible to get another new bios for this mobo ??
Holmer i'm working on it. Be patient please.
ok, no worries, I'm just in a bad sequence of unpleasure you know how it goes...
:D Seems almost every chip does 600 FSB with the 0504 BIOS - just threw in my new E3110 (notice the Vcore !!!) :

RAM was not tweaked here.
:welcome:
your the man
any special configs? i´m gonna try to get 600fsb also :)
With a FSB of 445-450 (multiplier on 9) i get BSOD's or major graphics distortions imediately when starting a game (Oblivion, Crysis or COD4) even though it is Prime blend and Memtest stable for 20 h +. Using 432x8.5 everything is fine in games. However, 8x450 is also fine so it seems like my CPU/motherboard can not handle moderately high FSB and CPU speeds. Very annoying. I set LLC to Auto. I spend a lot of time trying to tweak at around FSB 450 to get the most out of my memory but it is a no go. Any ideas what is the problem/what I am doing wrong?
Got this board yeasterday, and just so extremely happy with it. Totally different experience then Striker II Extreme. And now I am about to get some chipset waterblocks for this MB. So far I would go with:
EK-NB/SB 5
EK-NB S-MAX
EK-Mosfet ASUS 3a x 2
But I would also like to watercool the (B) chip next to SB (C) and it looks like it has its own mounting holes - and I know its is not really necessary - but it would just make it complete :) I tried to search and even tried to measure but can't find any block that would fit the mounting holes around the B chip...
Any ideas what WB might fit there?
Thank you
@camo and TT. Nice fricken clocks guys.
This seems to be the board atm. for ddr3 and extreme overclocks. Too bad its $370 :(
this made me laugh out loud. So its basically a cut down P5E3 premium right? I can get P5e3 premium on newegg open box for $100 less thats why i ask.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131276R
I don't have these boards, but I considered them and now I am waiting for the Rampage Extreme as I hang out with a DX48BT2.
Comparing to a P5E3 Premium...I see 2 main advantages unless you are planning on using 4 video cards...
*Might be higher binned chips for WS reliability so they may be overclocking a little better on average. You have probably seen more overclock results to compare the two.
*Board Layout is much better for Crossfire.
vs...
*More Phase regulated Vdimm.. I don't know if it helps with the memory overclock on the P5E3. You probably need to check some ram overclocking results as well.
*Wifi
Don't know if those are posted already, but here it goes:
Some voltage measurement points for the P5E64 WS Evolution:
http://i37.tinypic.com/5wf9xz.jpg
Nice results here guys
Over in the P5E3 Premium thread 600fsb seems to be almost the norm with the newest beta. It looks like it's the same with this one. Asus has definitely found some tweaks they are rolling out across their X48 lines. Perhaps somethings from the Rampage Extreme..
Some one try 4x1gb,particularly 4x1gb corsair 1800cl7?
@Benchzowner: Merci, Thank you for sharing thoses reading points! Also I Still have an issue going upper than 1,57 Vnb, thus no need to do the OV_NB in deed :/
I seriously don't know where that limitation comes from, but it's a no go. Even with a boot after setting everything at stock values, to test that damn vnb...
Does anybody meets the same issue as I do? (hope not for him...)
Bye
hey guys i did a search of this thread for quad more specifically qx9650 settings and turned up nothing. any of you on qx9650 with luck hitting 4.5. I can get 4.35 but probably not as stable as it should be and would like 4.5. have you seen postings for this combo or would it comparable to the asus x48 premium. thanks

Amazing to pass OCCT at 600 Fsb with an X48 mobo....
That new bios is kicking. Seems that with the release of P45, Asus found out how to make X48 clocking good 45nm cpus.
The Gigabyte X48-DQ6 and X48T-DQ6 are clocking good now with the latest beta BIOSes as well, so I'm guessing Intel updated something and the motherboard manufs integrated it into their latest BIOSes.
The fact that you can get very high FSBs even with most settings on Auto indicates that the BIOS eng's worked out the BIOS very well.
That's a little Occt, and not long enough. 3D is also possible, all of them :)
At 616: http://images4.hiboox.com/vignettes/...b7fabbeba1.jpg but didn't worked much on ram frequency there.
Btw, Is the P45 a good deal ?
:D Here's my goal - 8 x 600 also not worked much on the RAM......:

Which BIOS is best for "high" fsb (445+) with a QX9650 also considering I have 2x2GB 1800 MHz RAM I want to run at around their rated speed. It turns out that my systems crashes within minutes in games (COD4, Crysis, Oblivion) when running 445x9 even though it is Prime blend stable and Memtest stable for around 18 h. However running 421x9.5 is Prime blend stabe for 24 h and runs games perfect. I use BIOS 0504. I wonder whether it is my CPU or the motherboard/BIOS that is holding me back. I have been tweaking for months but can not get it stable at FSB 445+

*UPDATE*: Managed 9,5x426 70h Prime stable with tighter timings. Tried to tweak 9x445 settings based on response in COD4 but the settings needed for (at least short term) stability i the game will result in freezes in Prime (8 8 8 24, CMD: 2N, Ref cycle time: 88, V-NB: 1.61). I suppose it is the chipset that can not handle FSB 445+? Setting V-NB higher than 1.61 results in random freezes (I have a 120 mm fan on the stock NB heatsink and TIM replaced with MX-1). Running a 4/5 memory divider at 9x445 was not a problem meaning the CPU can handle the FSB (need more thorough testing with that to be conclusive).
pmp, do you work for Asus?
My board arrives tomorrow, will see how it goes with my E8500. I am also going to freeze it with LN2 once I get 8600 :)
My goal would be simple and sweet 10x600 32M :D
Hi there, not willing to show any hurry, but is there no new BIOS anywhere for that card? Not on asus support (GLOBAL) atm. Thx
no one meets problems with this board when trying to set 500 fsb and minimum 800Mhz for memories ? at any ratio in any strap like me? not selfish here!, just limitated I am...
Also, no one meets issues clocking CFx configs ?, issues arround vNB precisely ??
all bios considered.
I´ve have been testing this board the 2 last days. Bios 0504 is very wierd, but 0115 looks pretty fine here.

Now I will try bios 0504 and do some mem tweak
Hi, newbie to this forum:)
I am running the P5E64WS Evo with a QX9650 and 4G of OCZ Platium DDR3-1600 @ 1333, and a pair of ATI 4850 in CF. Everything auto (including mem voltages). With BIOS 401, everything seems very stable.
Not trying to overclock. But feeling courageous and updated to BIOS 0504, system started to crash randomly, especially during HD/CDROM access, which indicates something with the SB. I had raised NB voltage to 1.41V and mem voltage to 1.7V and still random crashed with BIOS 0504.
Downgraded back to BIOS 401, everything is fine at auto (MCH @ auto, MEM @ auto) again.
What gives?
Where'd you get 0504 from? I don't see it on ASUS's download page.
Click me!
p.s. Ashraf m8, I replied to your SB temp question a min ago ( http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...6&postcount=21 )
Well, 49C isn't bad for the SB.
And of course it depends on your room temp.
If for example you've got 27C room temp then 49C @ SB is fine.
The ICH9R can work reliably up to 70C, so it's ok at 49C :)
I've been using it ( 0504 ) and had no problems at all ( I mean BIOS related issues ).
It has some stability, but under certain conditions, can't tell you which precisely. Seems it takes all or nothing, not sure actually. I can't boot with fsb at 500 and mem frequency from 800 and a bit higher BUT 600 fsb and 900 frequency for memories works well :D
I can't wait to get a new bios...
Instability may be caused by LLC set to Auto since this equals the Performance setting with this BIOS and which results in random BSODs for me (and others but not all). I suggest you set the FSB to NB strap manually to 333 and the FSB manually to 333 as well . Take a look at my detailed settings posted earlier. Try upping the NB voltage a little (around 1.45) and the SB voltage to 1.2.
:D With LLC set to "normal" there is a small Vdroop but my XEON really needs less Vcore than set LLC to "performace":
