Hi guys, i made some measurements of temperatures on my 8800Gt, to see how the 80mm fan is useful.
All my measurements was made with my 8800Gt@850/1000 Vgpu: 1.38 (full)
The ambient temperature was 20° Celsius
-For my measurements I use this marvellous tool (very useful for overclocking :) )

- A picture off my measurement points
I realised all my measurements after 12 min of load with Ati tool.
All these readings are in Celsius degrees.
Idle temp without Load temp without Load with
80mm fan 80mm fan 80mm fan
1 49 98.6 48.7
2 30 40.7 27
3 53.2 109 51.1
4 31 60 33
5 40.9 54.5 35.7
6 32 52.5 33
7 40 59.2 41.8
8 34.8 45.1 35
9 35 65.3 29
10 32 73 26.2
11 28.2 78 43
12 33.8 62.6 43.5
As you can see the point 1 and 3 seems to be the hottest areas on the card, without active cooling, the point 3 reaches
109° after 12 min of ati tool!!!
I can’t imagine how hot it could be after on or two hours of this test…. In my mind the conclusion should be a nice black screen …
The result show that the 80mm fan is very efficient , it keep the card very cool, and the max temp I found with it still was the point 3, but with only 51.1° this time ;)
I really think this card need an active cooling if you decide to put a water block on it. It should help a lot in your overcloking
I hope these measurements will help you in your overcloking quest ;)
The 8800 Gt is really a great card, thanks to NVIDIA ;)
