I want to be able to do 450 3-3-3-8 ideally for benches with :banana::banana::banana::banana: loads of voltage. My sticks do 1324 spi 1m at 5-5-5-15 2.3 so I don't think they are bad sticks either! And all kit's should do 800 3-3-3-12 anyway at 2.3v/Quote:

X38 offers a maximum of stability at low voltage niveau. Still FSB 1.30, PLL 1.50 and set NB to 1.43 and RAM to 2.42 volts.
I never had a board running such hi RAM frequencies at strong timings and sub-timings with such low NB & RAM voltage settings.
BTW - LLC set to disabled, did the pencil mod. Vdroop = 0.000% !!!:clap:

1110@1.15 is amazing pal. not only are you getting the speed but your not degrading your ram with excessive volts to get there.... impressed m8.....
just managed 1232mhz @ 2.3V, but we know this board overvolts the memory 0.04 and i've had these D9's for ages so i havnt kept the speed for 24/7 use.... if only i could get it stable at low volts......
its good to know i can push my ram that far for benching.....

Exactly, this 2x2GB sweet spot is at 5-5-5-15, maybe I can do 5-5-3-15 like other XS members have done with this kit. 2,14v in BIOS was for a quick test, now I´m going to low the voltage of both RAM and NB, and see how far the subtimings can go. But keep in mind, this sticks are not Micron D9 based, so no crazy voltage ready/needed :D

This RAM doesn´t love voltage. Remember that is not Micron based and is a 2x2GB kit. Max freq is about 570Mhz at 2,2v. Doesn´t matter how many voltage you throw at them, they won´t go higher. Anyway, I bought them for 24/7 use, and that speed is pretty good for 2x2 :D

I´m now with it. And all I have to say is that the best BIOS so far is 0107. 0401 and previous when you set AUTO vcore in BIOS it puts random vCore looking at the FSB. For me, 370 is 1.39v. And of course with a vCore different of the processors VID, when you enable c1E the voltage doesn´t drop. With 0107 you put AUTO, and in my case is 1.25v load, 1.14v idle and I want that for 24/7. The RAM is f*cking unstable now with the same settings, and latency has increased a little.
So, guys, for now I´m forced to use 0107. Since I have done the vDroop mod, it works like a charm :)

I don´t know whats wrong with the other BIOS, 0107 has no problems running my ram at 1113Mhz but with the others is impossible. Maybe you should try it :yepp:
:cool: After a full nite of testing (all released BIOS versions) for me best is 0303. It's the only one I can boot up to 9x475 an bech up to 9x473.
All other versions refuse to boot above 9x470.
BTW, 4:5 divider is also broken >400 FSB on 0107 BIOS.
Interesting find is that on 0107 if all subtimings set to AUTO in BIOS memset shows performance level 6 - on all later releases it is 7. I set in BIOS only the main timings 4-4-4-3 and refresh to 25 and static contol to enabled - all other mem settings are left to auto (of course except the Vmem:p: ).

Well I thought I was in luck and was going to get my memory working right (1066) with bios 0401. At least with this bios I was able to get in to windows (all other bios version I could not even get into windows) but then as soon as I do some testing it crashes :-(
Will say this though I can now run my momory at bit faster with this new bios. I just hope they fix the problem with the official release of the next bios.
Rock stable 2x2GB G.Skill and E6600 settings for daily usage:
2.14v vMEM in BIOS, 1.29v vNB, the other voltages all set to minimum. Read Static Control enabled. BIOS 0107. CPU 370x9=3330Mhz 1.14v idle 1.224v load, with vDroop mod done.

It depends of your preferences. I prefer two modules, less heat, less power comsumption and virtually more overclock. 2x2 is also cheaper than 4x1. If you want 2x2, your want the G.Skills. High clocks with low volts, and astonishing price/perfomance ratio. Those Corsair, with no Micron D9 chips and rated at 800, I highly doubt they will do 1000+Mhz.

After browing the thead some I see these heastsinks are NOT copper but aluminum. :mad:
Ihave the P5E (vanilla) board. It makes perfect sense to remove them before they "bake" in place.
I find it strange that this guy recommends removing the "fusion block" or NB block in my case first, it is in the middle of the apparatus. :confused:
I was wondering if heating with a hair dryer would be an aid or a hinderance to the process.

Lol I personally wouldn't use a hairdryer, what you could do is measure the
heat that the hairdryer produces and if under 70c you could use it.

I'm using P5E for about a month. The first board had to be changed because it rebooted while i was downgrading BIOS in windows. Bad.
I got my new P5E, and I stayed @ BIOS 0107. Far the most stable. What I found is that the low voltages I give, the stable system I get.
The boad does not boot with 2,38 or above RAM voltages, but my T800s are rock stable at 1,98V@900Mhz@4-4-3-8 in 1:1 @ 450FSB. 6750@1,4500V@3,6Ghz
All are BIOS settings.
Orthos ran 12hours in 9prio, blend test without any error, now it runs for more than 7 hours in Small FFT....
The best board I ever had so far. BIOS is the only shame of it....

You have to apply the divider ratio to the fsb speed, not the total clock speed. 9x400 will yield different available memory speeds than 8x450.Quote:

Also, I will be RAID0ing 3 WD740ADFD Raptors off of the ICH9R. Can I still use my new Samsung 20x DVDROM with the ICH9R when in "RAID" mode? I absolutely despise JMicron anything and hope I don't have to enable it.

Looking at my p5e vanilla with my 2xtwinx1064c4 with a q600 g0 being cooled by a scythe mugen. Wow the cooler together with the fan is uge.
My other set of 2048 ram doesn't even fit with the cooler on.
The bios is still at 0107 and I will first start to do some overclock trials with it.
My previous board was a p5b-DLX. this new baby has a lot of extra settings on it. Don't like to see a lot of settings saying auto. Anyone here want to share their settings with me?

BTW - for pencil mod use 2B or 3B pencil - HB or H-class is too hard. Remember that You have to get as much as possible graphit on the resistor.
Cover Your work with a small piece of electrical tape so that it cannot be blown away from there if You use case fans or fans blowing to the mobo.
