Wow that's some insane temps for being stable. And I was surprised seeing my 0551UPMW stable at 53c :DQuote:

My 170 entry needs to be changed to 38C loaded. I corrected my post indicating the same.
I think i'll order a few 165 from different suppliers and see if I can get a nice week
what do you guys recommend for RAM with a Opty 165 (CCBBE 0610DPMW) with an Asus A8R32-MVP? I am having very poor results with my OCZ5001024ELGE. 2.4/2.5 seems to be the ceiling.
why don´t you just use a memory divider?
Um, my opty 165(CCBBE 0610) won't go over 2.86Ghz, it's weird...It gets to this speed at stock voltages, but will not go over 2.9...it will boot and run stuff, but not stable past 2.9. My multi is at 9x, and the LDT at 3x.
The temps are not a problem, even at 1.6V, full load won't push temps past 43C. I just feel like I'm missing something. I also got a new powersupply(OCZ GameXtream 700W) to replace the Rosewill I had, cause many told me it was crap.
I mean, it's weird right? 1.35V for 2.86Ghz, but for 14 more Mhz, I have to raise core to past 1.6V's????? Please tell me I'm doing something wrong.
Set your LDT multi to 2/2.5 ;)
ATTENTION all users with nice dual core opties :D
XS needs your help running Rosetta@Home! It's a simple app that does protein folding for research on disease. It's for a good cause, and you get to help your wonderful fellow forum-goers out by putting XS at the top! Instead of wasting your CPU power, give this a try.. even while it's running everything is still perfectly smooth. Feels like you're running Prime, i.e. no different from idle, even when gaming.
Here's a ss of the interface-

Setting up
Note that for the last step on the setting up thread, you should go here. Then follow the instructions the site gives you :)
Give Team XS a hand guys :)
your mobo is knowen to be htt limited, and usually causes exactly that problem.
Yep, and normally we don't post this out of section, but honestly it's the highly overclocked Opterons that do insane work in Rosetta. And this thread is home to countless overclocked Opterons. If some of the members would crunch for team Xtremesystems, it would really make a difference in our quest for #1 in the Rosetta ranking.Quote:

i would help with rosetta, but i don't think i can afford to keep my machine/s on all day and night :(
I'm busy trying to juggle work, my fiance, and getting my rig where i think it should be. When I get her running stable, I jump aboard for you guys. Should be at least an xtra 2.9Ghz for your team. And I don't have to pay for utilities at my apartment:woot: :woot:
That's great :)
itznfb you don't have to run every rig 24/7, every little bit helps :)
Just got my Opteron 170 0551UPMW. It sucks. :(. Im at 2.7 @ 1.44 volts right now. I really wanted 3.0ghz. Dont think I will. Although the memory controller on the Opterons is much better than the X2s.
Im off to test again, I will come back when I found my max.
OMG, is it really limited??! I thought one of the biggest(yet useless) features was the OC'ing ability of the HTT. If my HTT frequency is at between 316-330, will there be a performance dip(though I myself wouldn't notice because of the increase in CPU cycles, that's why I ask you veterns) from lowering the LDT multiplier from 3x to 2x?Quote:

LDT multiplier does not affect performance significantly
K, well, we'll see what happens tonight after work, thanks!
K, well the most I can get it to right now is 2.853 @ 1.5 volts. Better than I expected but I still dont think I will be able to hit 3.0ghz. Any suggestions I havent really messed with the HTT multiplier?
Weird thing though, my RAM will only run at a 1/2 divider, any other and it wont post. Any ideas?
ROSETTA ROSETTA ROSETTA
cant stress it enough, DL boinc(link in forums) and get to crunching PLS PLS PLS we need your help EVERY BIT COUNTS
yea! got a CCBBE 0610DPMW on the way. should be here next week. hoping for 2.9 @ 1.5v. or....or....3 GHz even?
If you have some spare $$, you can send me a 0610/0608 if you end up with some. I recently killed my 0610 :p:Quote:

so I played around with the LDT multi, and it's not helping at all...its not my mem divider, cause I put it way under spec when trying to hit faster speeds. I'm so stumped. I feel like I lost my keys, when I know they are right in front of me...
Yea, right now 313 is right where my HTT is. I'll try to stick in my TCCD and see what happens. sux...:(
This edit came about 15mins after: I'm a nub. I went back to basics, checked out Tony's UCCC settings over at bleedingforums, and now I'm at 2.9Ghz at 1.42V, and I might be able to go lower, still testing. Looks like I found the keys, lol. Thanks all.
