Sure buddy, these are the exact ones I bought :)

tell me guys... i gonna buy my new PC today...
For all i've read since few weeks here,
It seems that this R2E or the P6T Deluxe are the worst swindle about Asus has done cause of this un-fixing bios, isnt it ?
if u confirm that, i think its better to buy the Gigabyte Extreme, true ?
No problem at all with the R2E. The only "problem" is the impossibility to use a sound card with ti-sli if you d'ont use watercooling.
Hmm..
Was trying to get this stable:
Multiplier = Auto
BLCK = 200
With HT on and SpeedStep activated, I really like the SpeedStep feature, makes the CPU produce much less heat and noise when it's not needed! :)
Sadly though, I wasn't able to get that stable at all?
It would just random restart after launching Prime95, even on 1.45V?
So a BLCK = 200 overclock with SpeedStep functioning doesn't seem to be possible for me, without going over 1.45V?
A BLCK of 190 is working flawlessly, even with the turbo mode making the CPU run at 4.1GHz on 1.45V? I don't really see the logic in that?
But BLCK at 190 will make the QuickPath Link slower, so that's the hatch with doing that :(
Currently I've got 19x x BLCK 200 (aka 3.8GHz) working perfectly at 1.32V, but when the multiplier is not set to Auto the SpeedStep feature is gone :(
Guys, any ideas why this keeps happening?

Notice the error next to one of the WDC HDD's.
the HDD's have been tested and are 100% OK by the way. Sometimes it also happens to the Samsung HDD's as well.
However, the machine still boots and Windows seems normal??
Moderate overclock and everything is Prime, LinX & Memtest stable by the way.
Initially I suspected the Velociraptors, then it happened to one of the Samsung drives. So now I'm thinking it could be drivers or firmware related??
Or... should I be looking @ IOH/ICH voltages or something perhaps?
Thanks for the RAM module page, very useful.
Tell me something, for someone like myself that will air cool this board and also use a single 4870 X2 on it (no SLI or Crossfire), why would I choose this board over the Asus P6T Deluxe? I know this board is hyped more, has a fancier box, more metal heatsink on the board, but other than that, what would be a compelling reason to pay $100 more over the P6T?
I will likely never use SLI, my 4870 X2 is more than capable, so number of PCIe 16X slots is irrelevant to me, nor is the spacing of them. The top black PCIe slot being useless on the R2E is a design error on Asus's behalf, P6T doesn't have this flaw. I've ordered the CPU heatsink, a Noctua U12P SE1366 and will order the same RAM as you.
Any thoughts you have would be useful to see. I also hear there is a V2 version of the P6T Deluxe, which appears it lacks the SAS controller.
Hello everybody
The Core I7 is so much different from the older socket 775 CPUs when it comes to oc. Im having a hard time getting stable at anything over 3800MHz. Ill post my settings and if someone with more experience could maybe look at them and give me some advice. Thanks in advance

GL HF (pm me if you get unsure... :-)
So I have pretty much settled down to two motherboard picks that I want. Either Asus Rampage II Extreme or Gigabyte EX58 Extreme.
I am posting here to ask if 12GB of Corsair Dominator Ram TR3X6G1600C8D that they have on Newegg will work, stable and run well at 1600MHz. I know by looking at the QVL doesn't list the C8D it list the C9(XMP). I don't want to just run 6GB I want to run all 12GB.
I saw on another website, Hardocp I think it was, he took that C8D and ran 12GB on a P6T 1525MHz(ish I forget the exact frequency) at 1.66V. Does R2E work the same, or can it achieve 1600MHz at 1.65V or lower and with all 6Dimm slots working?
I assume you mean overclocking the CPU, if I was to have 12GB how far could I OC a 920? How far could I OC a 920 with just 6GB of the same memory or perhaps a higher speed memory? In the end I am not trying to be a number cruncher I just want to be able to play video games at 2560 x 1600 resolution and not have my CPU choke my GPUs.Quote:
Yes it will, but do not expect that you will be able to overclock as high with 12GB ram.
To anyone that's removed their stock heatpipe from the Rampage II Extreme for water cooling purposes, did you notice on the back on the heatpipe if the motherboard NB, SB and/or MOSFETs made an imprint in the thermal tape or thermal compound?
I'm trying to determine if the heatpipe assembly is making proper contact with the components on the board. Yes, the Rampage II Extreme may run warm/cool when overclocking, but as I found out this is due to the technology of the X58 chipset and the memory controller move to the CPU.
Asus could still have badly engineered the heatpipe assembly and due to the better cooling properties of the NB and SB on the X58 chipset, no-one would know if it's an improvement over the Rampage Extreme's heatpipe construction.
Just curious.
Yes. I removed the heat pipe assembly and installed a Koolance X58 block on the NB/SB with EK blocks on the MOSFET's. While there was an imprint on the NB/SB thermal material, there was none on the MOSFET thermal tape. It came off like it had never been used.
Hope this helps.
I run 12Gb & it's hard to get over 1600/1700 mainly because you need high vQPI for running 12Gb & as I believe it will also depend on your particular CPU sample (internal memory controller quality)
It's nice to run without pagefile, windows is more responsive & games load quicker, although there's no performance increase, at least that I have noticed.
Things get a bit more complicated with 12Gb but it's deffinately attainable together with a nice CPU OC, you will need to slowly raise vQPI & maybe loosen a bit some subtimings
My pc got dumb when i did some Sandra benchmarks , although it passed 120 runs IBT , ~5 hours blend stress, 3dmark vantage, prime 1024M, hyperPi 32M. I don't know why? What's going on?
To run prime at 200xauto with ht and turbo on with a 920 [mine at least] first you need good cooling, water minimum.. because you need iro 1.45-1.5 vcore and 1.45-1.5 vqpi along with the other settings you previously listed, at that i set my ram voltage at 1.72v.
As you will know those voltages are above rec voltages so 'at your own risk' applies.
Tbh I dont think its worth it, hopefully they will sort out the thermal throttling with a bios untill then there isnt much point imo unless you just want to run short bench runs.
