What a beast
Oh, what a perfect board to test that on. The cooler looks short, has pipes, and a fan! That's gotta be some killer cooling...
Sweet pics illidan, love that board.
i tried to do something similiar but had better results having a fan blowing directly on the main heatsink

Recently installed a lian li 3.5" bay thermometer, its pretty good.. It monitors hard drive activity, fan speeds, 3 temp sensors, and also has a clock so when in game no need to alt+tab out to find out the time 8-)

Oh and tommy, loving the whole black pcb against the orange, very classy :)
New to XS so i figured id make my first post in a place ill probably be spending a lot of time. This is a pic of my setup that is on its way out. New build is in the process.
New build is going to be a LanParty DK 790FX M2RS w/ Thermalright Ultima 90. Which will eventually get a full thermalright make over. Have 3 Yate Loon 120mm medium speed fans on the way from Performance-PC's. Full cable management also in the works.
LanParty NF4 Ultra sli-dr w/ HR05 SLI and XP90C

Welcome to XS.
thanks. i have to say tommy hewitt along with others on here make me jealous lol.
i still dont understand how you guys get pictures like that
I asked myself the same question months ago. Look at the EXIF on the pics and you'll get a better understanding on how things are done, although some people take them off. Try to replicate the same settings and you'll see an improvement on the pictures you take.
Oh, and a tripod really helps.
I used a large sheet of white paper, taped on desk and wall. :)

you finally changed both top fans to intake, woot woot. :D
Guess it's time to show some real :banana::banana::banana: :D

What cooler is that?
Accelero Xtreme 8800/2900
http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga1.php
ive heard that the backplate coolers like that help get rid of radiated heat that just sits around the chips
i'm using a gigabyte dq6 which comes with crazy cool backplate and i agree that it does help cool the rear of the motherboard & cpu down. IFX-10 on the other hand has some terrible thermal pad that doesn't transfer much heat to the headpipes at all. If you could test it out with some ceramique you maybe get better results.

Wow very nice deepsilver, you come up with new things almost everyweek :)
is that a 120mm YateLoon? :)
last question, is that your car in your sig? :D
Deepsilver - very nice cooling solution!
Cabbspapp - more photos please!!! Looks very good so far!
Disrupt: Come on guy!!!
here's my contribution... still on air, waiting for water :)

Thank you! :D
maybe because tread name Air Cooled Gallery :D
hmmmm
not that great, but this is the smaller heatsink. Its helping to cool the HR-03GT at the same time so thats the problem. Otherwise it would be much lower in temps. I'm waiting for the 12cm fan variant. I have to say i love everything about Noctua package presentation. They got adhesive washers to prevent the brackets from shorting / scratching your motherboard. They got a rubbery backing for the backplate to do the same thing. The fan clips can be adjusted so that if you ram cooler is blocking you can move the fans above the cooler.
Note to self : I'll try to take better shots with a tripod that time.
yeah basically the same X backplate cept noctua has a pad on top the plastic sheet that you see on the TRUE's backplate. Prevents scratches or maybe even helps in a pressure mount. I'm just guessing. Oh there is a new Revision. If you look at their website you will see the changed the L775 mounting bracket so it fits on the asus rampage that should work for all motherboards. Thats what i got.
Thanks, I just wasnt sure if it used the same sized screws for the hole/thread. Looks like i'll be ordering one soon  .
Edit: Has anyone ordered from the heatsinkfactory.com ? Is it a trust worthy place ?
Don't like the color of your case, but nice cabling in there :)

gorgeous pics tommy. i want to get a lcd display at some point.
is that foam wedged between your hard drives tommy? additional to being sandwiched together, i bet they get even hotter with blocked airflow
Nice pics Tommy
This Noctua has a excellent performance
amazing pictures people :) good stuff. And Tommy, do you dust your hardware before taking pictures :P hehe They all look so new. Not a spec to be seen on the PCB.
Looking forward to your new hardware ^^. Hope the DSLR is fairing well with you. May I ask what model?
cheap ass built into a Chieftec Aegis....
@giorgos th. - Cable management FTW. What temps are you getting on the GX2?
Yo tommy, make me one of them, would go perfect in my PC-60 =]
:D

Regards!
i was never keen on cable management....i always have my case wide open so dont really need it...
as for the GX2,with the 12mm fan exausting hot air from the card, temps went straight down..
with 25C room temp,i have 53C idle - ~68C load with the fan permanently at 55%..
to Tommy or anyone else that have use the HR-11, was wondering if you could assist if I have enough clearance to add this on my vidcard:
advance thanks
additional angle:
red scorpion?
I wish I knew about the Achilles S1284 though, I would get that over the S1283
thanks for the review btw, I feel vindicated with my purchase. I did replace the push pin with a Thermalright bolt in kit.
I might switch fan though with my ZALMAN ZM-F3RL 120mm Red LED since its more of an actual "Red" vs the orange stock fan it came with...more bling than performance.
So, you think I got room for that HR-11 on this setup?
it all depends on where the back of the GPU is positioned on that card, and whether the backside cooler will make it far enough in either direction to avoid problems with hitting the heatsink or the ram. ;)
The HR-11 comes out above the middle point of the 2 SLi connectors..check out Tommy's pics...I say you are good to go.
Will fit without problems :)
@Cpl Ledanek: yup the HR-11 is gonna fit...as long as you don't put another fan (for a push/pull config) on your CPU heatsink.
Here's my 24/7 setup.
E4300 @ 3.2ghz (Noctua NH-U12F + 120mm Nexus @5v)
OCZ Platinum XTC rev.2 PC2-6400 2X1GB (TT Spirit RS)

I also ordered the HR-11.... I actually don't think it'll fit, but I guess I'll find out in a couple days :hitself:
@_Prospect_: hope this will help...how far the HR-11 goes to the back of the HSF
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...TP35-T2R29.png
wow enzotech ramsinks !
Thanks for the pic emoners.
I should have been more clearer. I was actually referring to the space between the backside of my video card and my hr-05 sli.... very little room there
btw, love your setup
Do you run everything passive like that? what kind of temps do you get?
wow great pictures people :D
great pics emoners, manyga, and _Prospect_
my newest build. still not done yet though. still need to install my S-Clip so that I can rotate my Ultima 90. Also need to finish up the cabling(LED wires and a video card fan among others). Plan on adding a thermalright HR05 to north and southbride(could most likely use an HR05Sli on the chipset near the bottom of the board) as long as i have enough space.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...x/DSC01487.jpg
theToX, don't you think you want to remove the AMD sticker on the motherboard? hehe
havent really thought about that actually lol. i probably will though.
also going to paint the inside black at some point.
rarely seen someone use the V2 looks awesome theToX.
thanks. its still a work in progress. I found some really good deals on an 8800gt and an 8800gts so im debating making my credit card hate me some more.
Get an 8800GTS  :p:
im probably going to hold off for a little bit. my car is due for brake pads. pads and the stainless steel lines i want are going to come to almost 600 so the video card will have to wait. :(
Ahh okay, well, maybe by then you'll find a better deal on a new GPU
I love seeing inside cases, i most appreciate guys who keep things clean....dust bunnies and cabling/layout etc.
