Yes Buggs....that went with X48, they removed it and added those diagnostic LEDs...tbh, the Molex connector was never nesscary, holdover from the P965/P35 days.
I'm not too crazy about the cooling on the board, but the BIOS options, well, I could get lost.
Eagerly waiting for P45 results before I decide on my next motherboard.
you see the beauty of GB boards is they probably run cooler than most other boards so they only use what is necessary
it's got something to do with components they use........plus they've got some very cool thermal chambers where they can test and redesign boards if necessary while taking into consideration all different aspects of thermal case deisgn and how boards relate to it all............if i'm allowed i will do some videos of the real deal to show you what i'm talking about

i look at that bios, and i reminisce... lol. thats some dfi level tweaking options there.
I hope there will be a single 16x slotted board out there at some point :)

i could not face up to it and get another board for a long long time after a few of those 965s
actually a funny story........i was invited to some gaming event where Gigabyte was putting on an OC show and i was like LOL yeah sure heheh
well put it this was
we had their value boards there and i was literally SHOCKED how good they were
P35-DS3P
even to this day i have not seen a better P35 board........awesome value for money........killer overclocker and really really easy to OC
incidentally i overclocked my E6700 with this board to 5.4GHz on a cascade :shocked:
i fell in love :D
and the best part is RAM OCing.....this was the first board that properly unleashed my PC10000 Corsair Dominators pushing past 600 wall on all previous boards (INCLUDING Asus P5K Series) to 640 CAS4 32M Stable and 670 CAS5-4-4-x stable :clap:
i've since regained a lot of respect for these guys through various projects we did together and all the work we've put in to make them even better.
i have nothing but major respect and admiration for a brand that is trying so hard to change from dark old days into a gem and you guys have been seeing and experiencing the change too no doubt

Funny, the 965P DS3 was the board that turned me over to Gigabyte from all other manufacturers. That board was sick, 540FSB out of the box and so easy to overclock with.

Still GB is/was slower CPC and certainly not better for subzero. Maybe now will change. Hey, have you tried biostar Tforce series? They are awesome for the price and very easy to oc :) All beginner overclockers should buy them (not meaning you are beginner :))Quote:

i never even bumpted the NB volts on these runs and those runs were not fully tweaked...you can also see in the second shot that i screwed up the wazza run yet it was still pretty fast :yepp:
wait till you see what the new X48 rev1.1 which scales with NB volts and hopefully these P45s can do :yepp: when we start seriously benching heh
OK so now go have a look at the 32M SPi Low Clock Challenge thread and have a look at 9.xx Category

have a look at some of the other names in that category.......they are all very good and very experienced superpi benchers ;)
you will see that the most efficient 65nm DDR2 sub-10m run is at just over 5GHz done by a very good Pi bench toddm27 on P5K vanilla
so what does that tell you about GB efficiency ;)
