LN2 or DIce cooled NB is 10-15MHz higher FSB than air/water cooled. :up:
Especially, a long distance Pi is stabled by that extra cooling. ;)

We tried many p35 mobos on air but we have no 600MHzFSB benchable mobo. :(
So no one Team Japan try LN2 on p35 mobo.

Yeah there's many P35-DQ6's doing 630MHz+.
Only thing is if you need extra PLL (above 1.85V) you need to put your own power supply into vccpll pin via a "000" resistor just near the socket, which is the bridge between vPCI-E and the socket vccpll.
There is another mod, which involves SMC's but it just increase vPCI-E by 0.2V above any BIOS setting chosen.

Another is Vcore mod.

firstly , best part of this mabo is that you can bench on the mhz limits of cpu, for example with 6600 i can have 5.4ghz cpuz validation but can bench wprime1024 and 3d @5.33ghz (5.25ghz on p5b dlx) ,and another experience of mine , with 6750 had 656*8 max validation(647*8 on commando) but it can bench 655*8 spi 1m and easily 3d at 650*8 with this mabo.
in case of voltages, never needed any vmod on that mabo, it can easily does enough fsb with the maxes on bios ,and no problem up to 1.95vcore but personally didnt try 2v and 2v+ since even 1.8-1.95 gave me nothing on 65nm c2d s.not tried with wolfy,i hope i can have time to try our 8500 on giga but these days i am to busy :( ..
well, in case of spi speed , it is a "little" slower than p5b but because it lets cpu more mhz and its ability to boots on your memories can give better results ,

i've used many different Gigabyte boards
They are generally not as strong with superpi as asus but are not much slower....we are talking a few seconds here once you tune them properly

i would get the P35-DS3P (great boards if not even better than DQ6 in some cases)
you will see monster RAM overclocks on them

i think with Gigabyte DDR2 boards i've had more luck as their bios files seemed more stable. They are a little trickier to OC than other boards but with a mix of tight timings and correct subtimings you can push the PL really tight at high FSB with good cooling on NB and achieve great results

you will most likely have to do an OVP mod as they will probably not like going past 1.8v. I can probably help you there as i am receiving the new version of the DS3P board and i know GB guys in Taiwan

the thing is that they are great with FSB for conroes but i do not know if they are as good with Wolfdale though.....DFI might be a better choice as they have good GTL ref options in bios and will probably be a touch faster in 32M

- you're running FED14034h to 12: did you try setting it to 10 (high vMCH required)
- you're running 03Bh to 00: did you try setting it to 37?
- you're running 03Eh to 04: did you try setting it to 03?
- you're running 03Fh to 26 (really too high IMHO; but maybe required for actual FSB): did you try setting it to 23 (needs very high vMCH) or 24?
- you're running 040h to 10: did you try setting it to 08 or 09?
- you're running 041-043h to 00 00 00: did you try setting it to 80 03 0B?

You're welcomed Newbeetle-san. :) It's possible that your actual values are the best for 620FSB. I personally have used tighter values up to 605FSB or so, but never had any chance to do it at 620FSB due to a combination of CPU/MOBO limitation.

Chipset FSB to strap related. :) Very important on P965; less on newer chipsets due to the nature of straps which is now memory divider dependent.

It has to represent some parameter the MB MFG knows or they couldn't have coded for it especially the chipset teams. Chipset is old and I was away from online involvement when it was in use and released or I'd experiment with it to find out.

I was trying this evening my E8500 on my 665 fsb P5K but i think Wolfdale are pretty limited on p35 due to high frequency and high fsb togheter...
Wolfy don't like so much Pll like conroes, so it's difficult push them up with high frequency.
Atm after a fast run i'm at 5880Mhz 1.86v... i hope to try it on some great 965's mobo or try to cool p5k Nb around -10° and similar...have you tried with your p5k?

You have a great P5K!!! :eek:

I tried two P5K and P5K-E.
They are all benchable @FSB645MHz with my WR E6700.
But their FSB limit fell down to 550-565MHz with my best E8500..... :(
I canot understand this situation and feel very mysteriously. :p: :D
