I just got some kbyte sticks at bestbuy... 512mb sticks -37E microns one says D9DGN and the other says D9DCL apparently... Anyone ever heard of these?

Erm, sorry to ask, but how to Elpida chips generally clock ? Do they need voltage, like the fatbodies ? Thanks, i think i might be in line for some elpida chips.

I bought them yesterday (1gb kit [2x512]) and they were running @ 4-4-4-12 and not at 4-5-4-15 as they supposed to.In addition in 2.3V they got easily at 984MHz.But i forgot them in my other pc..duh :S So does anybody know what chips do they have :)

don't trust that pic on their site, twinmos can put any chip on their stick if they want.

I hope to see a Speed Premium serie for DDR2 with micron for cheap :D

Cross-checking Corsair's "IC Inquiry thread" and Micron's white papers:

TWIN2X2048-6400C3 and TWIN2X2048-8500C5 are built with the same ICs - binned low latency vs high frequency. This would indicate Micron B6-3 (667 @ CAS5), which is D9GMH. Not 100% sure, but perhaps 95% :D :p:

I haven't seen the teamgroup chips listed yet.

You've got the 3-4-4-8 and the newer 3-3-3-8 series, which are supposedly Micron based :)

D9GMH are indeed small squares.
2.3v | 820MHz 3-3-3-4 no prob
2.3v | 1066MHz 4-4-4-4 no prob

TeamXtreem PC2-5300 & Corsair PC2-8500 have those IC's.
You should keep those, VictorWang did above 1100MHz CL3 with 2.7v.

Just ordered 2 1gb sticks of those OCZ EL platinum edition PC2-6400 sticks, which go into my Conroe rig this august (they were a steal... ~100£ for 2x1gb!)... Hope they're as good as you guys say :)

Read carefully - I want some info about the Geil and PQI sticks - which I'm unable to find. I also provided some info for those who want to purchase Patriot LLK 667. So the link doesn't answer my questions - it was attached as a sort of help for those who don't know which chips Patriot sticks LLK667 are based on. Seem to be the same D9DCN chips, but simply on 1GB sticks. PC4200 CL4 ECC :)

Can't test them ATM, as I still need a board and CPU, but hope to get them to at least 1000(DDR of course) 4-4-4-X with about 2.3V. In a few weeks I'll see what I can do.

the max what i tested was 900Mhz 4-4-4-5 @ 2.2v, the P-D840 max out @ 225FSB
with Aircooling :(

I will test with Allendale E6300 & Abit AB9 if it arrive (i think next week) :toast:

Interesting, I got those Patriot 667LLK 2x1GB and pulled the heat spreader on side. Guess what I found? Micron D9! Not the fat body of course, but the regular square one! :banana:
I'm re-doing my H2O setup, but I'll hopefully try OC them... My poor PD 805 can't go very high on air... :(

Does any of you have TwinMos Twister DDR800 sticks? Any results when it comes to OC? They are relabeled, so I can't find out which chips they are based on. I'll be able to check their potential when I get my mobo, but for now I'm just curious about their OC.

the same type as in #226. It may be anything. Ms sticks were the chaepest DDR800 2x1GB CL5 I could buy in Poland, so I assume they are based on the Elpida chips, but they might be micron D9 as well. I can't check it out, as I will have my mobo - Gigabyte DQ6 - on Friday. I'm just curious.

I think the Corsair with the dark colour PCB could be Micron... it's slightly rectangular, the brown dot, and there are 4 faded letters on the top left.

The tricky thing is that Micron don't generally sell blank easily brandable chips. Even ballistix have the D9GKX/D9DQT visible under the Ballistix printing on the IC's.

Very possible though with the 4 letters and location of the dot on the IC.

As you said the D9GMH and D9GKX are the best. Chips do clock good, I think D9GKX is a little bit better at high Mhz, I think they are same die only other speedbind just as BH-5 / BH-6 :)

I have a 2GB kit of PQI Turbo DDR2 5400 (4-4-4-12) will run at 397 @ 1.8 volts I am trying to figure out what chips are on the sticks. I pulled a heat spreader but the pictures are not real clear.

The Markings on the chip are TAP757-C93G there is a tan dot right next to the marking. Looking at the chips from the connector edge the dot is in the lower right hand corner.

Thanks in advance for any help

I have to agree. I have posted some results on ocuk and they are nowhere near, but tbh i think its as much to do with the Asus P5W settings that cant be changed in the bios.

3. 360 FSB Ram 4:5 DDR900 at 4,4,4,12 2.1v

Memtest failed with ALL of the above. This is due i think to the way the Asus mobo sets the hidden ram variables... very poor.

Windows ran at:
1. 360FSB 1:1 DDR720 3,4,4,10 2.2v and if i changed the ram settings in windows it run to 390FSB DDR780 - would not do 400FSB DDR800

2. 360FSB 3:4 DDR960 SPD 2.2v
3. 360FSB 4:5 DDR900 4,4,4,12 2.1v

I see such a small improvement in real useability over my ocz the only difference 4,4,4,12 instead of 4,5,4,15. Although the OCZ will not post above DDR975 so there is hope.

I think the Geil is good for DDR1000 at 4,4,4,12 and possibly DDR1100 at 5,5,5,15 but until this board is sorted i'm wasting my time with it.

I have now put the ram in with the OCZ and its stable at 360FSB 4:5 DDR900 4,5,4,15 2.1v so i now have 4GB ram in the system. I'm happy with that until the bios is sorted.

Summary:
Not the fantastic ram i was seeking, but as good as my OCZ, which is on a par with most Gskill HZ i have seen.... so excellent value for money.

at the upper right corner there is an A
and sfter this i can red

HY... seems to be Hynix chip.

According to this site here: http://www.overclockersonline.com/in...num=396&pnum=2 the Supertalent have D9GCT.So i would say go for the G.Skill (D9GMH) :) Nevertheless wait for a reply from the professors :D :p

I think yes, well it's easy to check just look from the side of the stick and you could see easily if it's fatty or not
