Guys, if you're going to talk about voltages, never ever consider what the software is telling you.
Simply put, it's wrong in most cases if not all.
That is something and others are trying to find an excuse that Phenom could consume less power
but interesting to note that PII/C2Q in Crysis uses 70+W more than CPU test while I7 uses 45W or less more on Crysis , i thought all 3D and CPU results should be linear , But i was wrong :)
excuse me?
If a mobo overvolts CPU, it consumes more power. Period. Thats a fact.
If a mobo undervolts CPU, it consumes less power. Thats another fact.
Yeap that is True , But changed Voltage in Bios then measured the Power consumption , this got nothing with the default Vcore the chip should run on, this just like i undervolt my CPU and say it consume less power on stock clocks You need to measure the real Vcore , my 3800X2 for example Stock Volt is 1.35V and i run it 1.2V all set in Bios but never measured and it consumes less power on custom settings but this got nothing to do with stock settings ,, It is similar to the fact that if you overclock your CPU it will run faster , next time we will ask power consumption test with CPUs at stock clocks and undervoltet to the max :D
I was wondering what benches I can post of my chip. I am in the USA, And don't want to violate NDA.
HMM,, well I suppose not.. tho the person (president of my work) that gave it too me said I was alloud to post a picture or anything(noob). I though about doing some 3.0ghz bench's comparing my 9950 @ 3.0ghz. same BN HT and Ram settings. I only have the one board right now.. so I will have to swap CPUs to do so.
yea id just hold off on the benchies. we only got a week until phenom II's release, show us what you got then.
the reason for that is simple, artificial cpu tests are stressing the cpu to the max (eg. prime with 8 threads).
Games on the other hand dont stress all cores on Ci7 so the PCU shuts down not needed parts. :yepp:
I hope AMDs next cpu has something similar to intel PCU.
He was being pretty picky about me posting info..even a screenshot or 2. He won't even tell me how he got it..I guess I could block the info like everyone else..and post a screen shot.
Edit: I am loading Vista 7 and want to see how it is. Here is all I did. I only ran a 1M Pi..So I can't say for sure how stable it is...

Cause you are a little bit a ****.
We run crysis with the lower details.
At guru 3d they run it @ 1280*1024 + 2xAA + Gamer Details.
@1600*1200 which is a higher resolution than 1680*1050 , they run it with Gamer Details and 2xAA
We run it @ 1280*1024 without AA + Performance Details.
@1680*1050 we run it at Enthusiast without AA
Ok now?

don't worry about him i swear he is related to lo squartatore.
When do clock-per-clock comparisons arrive? I don't mean to be impatient, I'm just excited! :D
oh yes.

oh ! in DX9c, i7 run faster:clap:
But I don't see Deneb's score in resolution 1680*1050 ! NDA?:(http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/11/shi11ub0.jpg
in i7 benchmark, you can reduce QPI speeds.
it was a faulty run at that ss.

but you said that all these tests are fake.
What changed now?
Thank you, OverClocker_gr, for your hard work, :) but please ignore vietthanhpro. He doesn't want to believe your review simply because the NDA hasn't ended yet. I guess nothing can convince him now. (And no, he's not lo squartatore. I can confirm it. :D )
Based on OverClocker_gr's results, I have made a table comparing Core i7 920 2.66GHz with Turbo Mode on with Phenom 2 920 2.80GHz. With one more speed bin, the Core i7 should be at 2.80 too, so I think it's good for clock-for-clock comparison. :)

im happy with ph2 gaming results, good job amd!
Vozer, I think it is hard for any of us to believe what we see. Stock performance for my current 9850 is great but OC sucks not even 100mhz above stock is stable with 64bit OSes when AMD testers showed Agenas getting 3Ghz out of the box. I getting the 940 come hell or intel but I'm only cautiously optimistic it will get over 3Ghz.
Good job :)
Eh...I wonder how a Q6600@2.66GHz can perform in this resolution  I don't want to flame, but I argue with a guy who says that a Q6600@2.66GHz can outperform Phenom II 940 in Crysis (naturally, he is a fan of Crysis and 3DMark :D)
@Vozer: Neverwhere đó à ;)
HEY! Finnish customers have got few cpu's on their hands today, some of them will get at monday so stay tuned, ill link some retail test from muropaketti when they post those... and theyre not even violating anything, PC shops selling cpu's :P
HAH nice...................................... w0ot
Does AMD's OverDrive apply settings directly to BIOS?
The Clock per Clock review/s should be out tomorrow ;)
HondaGuy I feel like your chips got alot left in it for that voltage.
Specially since your hypertransport and northbridge clock are at stock.
Not to mention you seem to have made skill's with phenom's getting a 9850BE to 3.7
oh Yea there is alot left, like I said just got the thing ,,still tweaking. just wanna make sure I have enough volts,, since Im on water

Another ? I just must ask
I noticed the NB multiplier seem's to only go to 9x is that really the limit?
I swore it was usually at 10x and had the option of up to 11x or so.
My bet is on you hitting maybe 4.3-4.4 core and 2.65 nb/core.
Thats it for tonight 3.9 is stable.. going out drinking now....Cheer Guys
Nb multi only change through bios, not aod. In aod u just see what is set at.
Mine has at least x16 from what i remember(16x200=3200).;)
leoy umm 3.2.....am I smokin something?
But isn't that your core clock not northbridge?
Since motherboard's don't support 3.2nb yet...I have a feeling am3 will to catch up to i7's qpi interconnect and uncore clocks more.
I no longer have a Asus M3A79-T board anymore either... I also did not mean for that to be so high.. I also wondoer if AOD was having a glitch, my ram was above 1200mhz and is is 1066 ram LOL...I went to open CPU-z to see what it said and the system crashed..I never got to see. so it was either right and was not stable at all,,or a board fluke and AOD messing with my head.
I just had it set to just over 2.5NB and 2.2HT, 4ghz cpu in XP and it seemed stable.
I have been doin some 3ghz CPU, 2ghzNB and HT benches to compare against my 9950 at those same settings. I just ran a Cinebench run in Windows 7 on the CPUs..I can't say which chip this is tho
http://3800z24.info/Phenom/Deneb/windows7.jpg
It was a my first 2mins of OCing the chip and only 2 mins...then :smoke:
I set the primary OC in bios, then opened AOD and uped the HT ref...I hit Apply and eveything was wacked..I was using a 1:2 divider and ram was sky high..so was NB...I only had time to get a screenshot then then went to open CPU-z and well like I said.. no more asus. I am not using AOD anymore :p: I am scaries
Edit:
http://3800z24.info/Phenom/Deneb/AOD.JPG
Holy crap charged no wonder the thing crappy out your voltages on the memory and nb are way high from what I've seen. 2.4 isn't insane but I can't imagaine how hot your mosfet's and northbridge must have gotten.
3000 nb boot and 670 is insanely high and gives more power to my theory of even higher nb possibility on am3...granted not a massive amount at this point but it's guaranteed there going to push these chips as hard as they can to try and get a good spot between yorkfields power consumption and nehalem's performance.

perfection.. ugg i want that LMAO
Here's the last teaser for now

All CPUs clocked at 3.7GHz
lol gpu limited in UT3. :D
Thanks for the teasers BenchZowner :) .Deneb performs really good and hangs pretty well with the blue horde :D.
I think that in high frequencys, phenom keeps up better.... there isn't any clock to clock deficiency.
just think if I had a M3A79-T Deluxe.....Once someone else gets a Phenom II on that board and I see the results I just might get myself one, as for now just going strong with the M3A32-MVP Deluxe
Ok first retail result from finland, you can buy 940 BE now :P
voltage unknown yet, user said he's tweaking more so stay tuned ill try to catch all of his results.

Any of you guys care to report temps @ stock Vcore?
Sure....H20 here

Thanks HodaGuy;) I recon that High End Air Cooler will be about the same at Idle as Water.
Ive has this chip up to 1.55 so far under load was about 44....Room temp right now is 22
HondaGuy: Thank you
BenchZowner, can you run x264 benchmark with a newer x264 version?
The included are too ancient :P (8 months old the newer).
I've adjusted the bat file (and the vbs file to launch the new bat) to run one of the latest (if not the last, I've not checked today), r1069. The only issue is that fps results don't write to the rtf file and I can't figured out why  Anyways, you can see the fps from the ms-dos window ;)
The settings are the unmodified Standalone-Blu-ray_fast profile from Megui (only adjusted the bitrate to 3959 from 8000, just like the bitrate used with original x264 benchmark, and I guess this standalone profile is the equivalent to the one used with original bench).
You have these files attached inside a zip.
And here the x264 r1069 http://rapidshare.com/files/17938606...-1069.rar.html
Thanks.
Hi hi, I guess he used air cooling for that bench :)
Because at 3.8GHz with water cooling, the temps were similiar with 3GHz

In Vista, yes, but this was XP (according to Futuremark).
It's a little lower than my Q9450@3,7 - 5885(compare)
Still, I am more than convinced over PHII. This is a "must buy". :)
When the room temperature is around 22*C(as he said) what delta T do you want to make the water? 0 degrees? :)5-6* are something normal, the load temps are more interesting than the idle :).
Your card is much faster than 2900Pro, so the CPU score is higher because of it, not because the CPU itself.
P.S. I hate you, all that have already got their Denebs :D
Updated my results.
