Nope 680i has the opposite. Screw head behind the board and brass nut above the block.
At least, that's how I did it, following the included instructions.
It would've mattered for clearence on my GTX. The Screw head is different to the 680i screw head, so that it can sit flush into both spring and block when tight. Nothing sticks up higher than the top of the acetal. My vid card runs over the top of one screw just a few mm higher.
oh ok... I'll swap it around then...
i emailed eddy to send out my missing mounting gear no reply as of yet...
cheers

Those look like sick fans... how much were they?
i got them $20each is Aus... $12 in US abit pricey but think there worth it... there fairly quiet there is a slight buzzing noise @ full speed @ medium they still blow a fair of air but are alot quieter, but i think will improve when i run the fan's for awhile... .I'm getting a yate loon medium in and i have a couple fan's hanging around the house i would like to compare to the scythe ultras kaze's...
I will let everyone know how they compare...
http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/ac...38_detail.html
Yes please do. I'm particularly interested in comparison to the D12SM-12 your getting. I just ordered a couple more YL SM's from Petra because I wasn't sure on how quiet these Ultra Kaze's are.
Do they list a static pressure number anywhere on/in the packaging?
Nah sorry mate it's not listed on the packaging i had a look for ya...
But i found this....
http://www.overclock3d.net/news.php?...tic_pressure/1
hope that helps...
I will also be trying scythe's newest fan the slip stream series.. they are in stock @ petra's
this one.... 33dba 88cfm 1600rpm
http://www.petrastechshop.com/12scsysstcaf3.html
I'm just playing with the fan's i have atm...
I was surprised how quiet my Xinruilian RDL1225S 120 mm fan is and seems to blow a fair bit of air... i wish i had the tools to measure cfm/dba
cheers!!
Wow, these fans are sexy... Might look for them sometime in the future. Keep it up!
Thanks for the link disruptfam. Tells me half of what I need to know before buying. Now, just need to wait for you to get your SM's and tell us what you think.

question fellaz:
with the mounting if the ek block... i put the o-ring then distancer than barb? is that correct???
and the un-used hole's i put the plug in???
don't want to mount it incorrectly
cheers guys
ok mounted the ek block... took about 45mins lol very fiddly....abit of pita really but it looks great... post pic's soon
cheers
I don't care 'bout no stinkin' EK block!
I don't care 'bout no stinkin' slipstream fans!
I don't care 'bout no stinkin' 80mm fans either!
I want test results comparing the YL to the Ultra Kaze's....NOW DAMMIT!
:p: ;) :lol2:
Barbs on copper side = no spacer.
Barbs on delrin or acrylic side = use spacer. Spacer o-ring seals to block, barb 0-ring seals to spacer.
What you're doing is ensuring the barbs' threads don't protrude into the water chamber. So everything depends on what barbs are used and where.
Bloody amazing how fast Quoc can get stuff to us in Oz. Faster than many locals do.
Awesome :)
Waiting for pics!
BTW: I told ya! Those block are a bit of a pita to hook on a 8800GTX.
cheers mate cleared that up for me.... had the spacer both side's lol will fix...
Yeah Petra is awesome ordered Friday got Tuesday... now that's service!!!
Thanks guys @ Petra's!!!
EDIT: fixed the block... will take off 2morow to check tim distribution then back on again :)
Pre-min fan result's
Fan's tested
Yate loon D12SM-12 33dba 70cfm
Scythe slip stream 33dba 88cfm
Scythe ultra kazes 32.91dba 87cfm
Xurillian fan 32dba 70cfm
D12SM: the quietest @ high, med and low out the 4 fan's tested pushes more than the Xurillian but less than the scythe's... surprised how quiet it was :)
Xurillian: Pushes the least air, @ all setting's has annoying rattling noise @ all setting's
Scythe slip stream: Pushes more air than the d12sm and xurillian @ all setting's Inaudible @ low very quiet @ med and noticeable but not to bad @ high
Scythe ultra kasez: Pushes equal or a tad more compared to slip stream inaudible @ low quiet @ med Pushed most air , loudest out all four fan's tested @ high.... by a fair bit slight whining noise and rattling noise (might be faulty fan will test another 1 to be sure)
Results after a very quick test... looks like a 3 horse race here d12sm,slip stream and scythe ultra kaze more to continue tomorrow :)
You do know I was just messing with you...right?
I wish ground was that fast.:( I ordered last Thursday and won't get mine until this Thursday. If I order UPS ground from anyone else, I get it in 3 days. I'm not spending another ~$8-9 (I can't afford) to get my stuff 2 days faster. This is about the only area I see that Petra needs to improve upon.
Hmm, from these results, it looks like I stay with the SM's. I'll wait for full results before deciding for certain though.
SMALL UPDATE:

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9...raorderri4.jpg
that all for now...
Next fan result's and modding of my v2000 case enjoy!!!
You know its just a couple of drill holes and some filing to make your own single slot end plate.
I bought one in a pile of stuff but its very easy to make from a spare blanking plate.
25ft on tubing...
So what? I have 60ft of different Brand\sized Tubing for my XETM Project! ROFL :D
But Hey, Small question m8, you actually used the kinda metal O-ring (Which include a black plastic O-ring) right? What is it used for? Protecting the Acrylic from cracking when mounting the barbs on the acrylic side of the block?
I didn't used them on my past loop. Did i do wrong?
Yes i did use it.... As jedda explained beforehand...
:up:Quote:

I didn't know this would turn into who's the got the biggest/most tubing competition hahahaha :)
Good stuff, disruptfam ... am enjoying your progress and looking forward to the pics when you load everything in the case.
Oh, Thanks for the info :)
Really, i didn't knew that. I had used both barbs on the copper side for my last loop.
So basically, you use the spacer only when a barb* is hooked on the acrylic side? What about those plugs? Do i need to use the spacer as well if i hook a plug on the acrylic side?
Thanks :)
To tell the truth i don't know... about the plug's and the spacer....
Jedda???
You only want a spacer where the barb or blanking plug's thread is long enough to stick past the material into the chamber.
They're an alternative to short threaded barbs.
If it sticks in, I'd say yes.
I put them on my copper side barbs but mine aren't EK.
Well, I have all Ek barbs and i just noticed that i had both Ek barbs hooked on the Acrylic side on my past loop. Had no probs at all and had great temps so! Heh
so i'm fine either way??
Probably. Although I'm always striving to get all the little details right. They add up in the end.
Am always a little nervous about assuming that because something is one way on my block that its the same on another I haven't seen. They do the odd revision some times.
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Nothing to do with my build but still :)

OK guys i've ran into a problem....
I originally wanted to mount my mcr120 to the back exhaust fan.I did a trial fitting last night....and looks like a no go...will fit there,BUT!! it blocks my mofset block so there's no way i can route the tubing there... :(
Here's pic to show youse what i mean.....
Mofset block...
http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/6...pics157yr4.jpg
mcr120 as you see it blocks the block.... i know its not all the way back but tried last night didnt work just to give an idea...
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/2...pics158yd2.jpg
Sorry about bad pic quality did them in rush...
So were do you guys rekon i can put the mcr120???
The front in the bottom sectoin is no go...would hit the other rads...
Maybe @ the top of the case???
Like what dark prodigy did??
http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/4/dpyw9.jpg
http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/6123/dp2ed8.jpg
How would i go about cutting that out.. for a rad grill same as above pic?
Also where can i get a black 120 rad grill?
cheers fellaz thanks in advance for the input!
Anyone?
Hey m8!
I think you either want to have the rad up there on top of the case or have the little 120mm rad hooked in the back of the case. You make 2 holes for the tubing using a 1" hole saw and your good to go!
When you can't have everything internal, external is the way to go. It still is going to be more easy to mount the rad back there and make 2 small holes instead of one big on top of the case, right?
Put the fan on the outside of the case and the rad on the inside, screw through the fan holes of the case, should hold the two together and give you about 25 more mm to work with
Well, it can be done. Thats why I mentioned liberal amounts of tube. You need the rad loop sections long enough to lift the panel out and sideways. I did it with a V1000 and MCR220.
Its not a great solution, though.
Think you might be right about a hole though.
PC Case Gear have AC Ryan Rad Grills here.
DisruptFarm, what motherboard is that? Is that a dual socket mobo?
Maybe, towards the front in the top. In the top 5 1/4 bay?
Cheers fellaz...
I Think i will cut a hole at the top of the case... just like dark prodigy did and mount it next to my dvd drive.
Any info on the procedure of cutting my case to accomadate the rad??
I will use my jigsaw for the cut...but i mean what will use to sketch out the hole??? rad grill?
cheers guys
If you have the radgrill, use it for the outline but then you will probably see the edge thru the grill. The best way would be to outline the contour, offset 1/8" outward and cut there. When the grill is installed, you will not see the edge unless you see from a certain angle.
I used the grill to mark out my cuts after laying masking tape over the area. Then neatened up with a 6" half round bastard file.
Gotta strip all the electronics from the case though. Al dust and swarf can do some real damage.
Cover the whole top with tape and measure out everything in pencil. Measure twice cut once.
cheers fellaz i ordered a fan grill...
Will cut when i get it probably next week sometime...
Damn i would of liked to cut into my case on the w/e... :(
You can do this without a fan grill if you get the exact measures for the radiator. Thermochill provided a pdf with all the measures you need and that's the way I'm going to do since I will not order a grill before a few weeks (not a lot of money, thank you xmas shopping and I'm waiting for welshtom to do a special project to save on shipping).
I'm using a mcr120 swiftech i could get the measurements off the there site.... :)
Just the fan holes is 105mm between centers so it's a easy way to start off then cut arond.
How about fan-case-rad? seems like there are enough room for the tubing below the fan...
Hey fellaz back again...
Need your opinion....
Ok all my blocks are black/acetal except for my ek acrylic fc block...I'm thinking about purchasing the acetal top, to keep The sleek black look through the case. What do you guys think?? Here's some pic's with my new camera...still figuring out how to use... :)
