tried ibt again and failed after 2nd pass, blue screened as well with error 3b. any other suggestions? or maybe its a lost cause. temps donr go above 69

What references did you try? Put your sub timings on auto with the standard profile and run it again.
First of all before runing any windows stress testing run memtest98 standard test at least 1 time 2 times to be sure 3 times you you are a paranoid like me.
And no 69 it's not high in intel burn test , but i guess that depends most on the cpu frequency. Iam getting 73 at full load at linx (same algoritm has ibt).
linpack algoritm has far has i know its the most demanding algoritm of all , it pushes the cpu so hard that you will get temperatures you will never have in real life use.
ok what i tried now was backed my cpu down to 3.9-434 fsb set sub timmings to 5-6-12-88-6-auto set ram to xmp profile1 7-8-7-24 and re-ram IBT and it passed!!, so I dont know if that was because i backed down fsb or had to do with the ram settings, but in awhile I will put fsb back to 445 and try again what do you think?
my friend how r u ?
hoss means CPU refs and MCH refs, tough i have the same mobo as you i didnt install it yet but all my Q9650's and the X3380 love this ones...
set vtt at 1,2 and set CPU REF at .785 and MCH REF at .80 then up vtt to ya current value...that will do the job
also pay att on skews...800/800/0/50 or 900/900/0/50 liked by all my quads
Hope this helps
Cheers
Sergio
Actually my ddr3 board doesnt like the same references or skews as the ddr2 board. For 500x9 the ddr3 board wants 800/900/0/0 and .815cpu 0.760mch references while the ddr2 board wants 800/900/0/50 and .800cpu 0.800mch (0.760mch if using the cellshocks).
Intresting reply andre my system became stable when i used 1.32 vtt and 0.726 mch ref in bios , if i change the mch ref alone it becomes unstable to the point that it fails on the 3rd test on linx.
I am wondering if this vtt is safe , and what is the safe limit for my cpu.
My goal its 500 rock stable and maybe 512 for some benching can some one pinpoint the values of mch and cpu ref , vtt for the cpu and any important subtimings?
Iam talking about ud3p ddr2 1200 ;
Those references dont apply for duals, and just so you know the 1.32vtt doesnt work its really just 1.30.
thanx i will give this a try. I will bump my fsb back up to 445 to give me 4.0 .... its very stable now hopefully its the same at 445!!as well i will get ahold of you on msn today sometime, take care :)
one more thing by vtt you mean cpu termination correct? sorry i dont understand all the terminology yet
Yes, Vtt is CPU Termination
ok i tried 900-900-0-50 and would not post, so i went to 800-900-0-0 and set the rest of bios like this and would not pass third step in IBT Iam starting to lose hope I did not try 800-800-0-50 yet is it worth it to try,Code:******Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker (M.I.T.)******

Every possible combination is worth a try.
success!!! I did exactly what andressergio said set vtt at 1,2 and set CPU REF at .785 and MCH REF at .80 then up vtt to ya current value...that will do the job
I wasnt setting vtt first at 1.2 then cpu ref and then mch ref and then after that I wsnt going back to change vtt back to 1.32, cause after setting it back to 1.32 it changed the two ref voltages on its own, does that make sense on what iam trying to explain, I also set it too 800-800-0-5. well after all this it passed 8 passes of IBT but my temps went to 73, is that getting abit high? It prolly wont gewt that high from everyday use as from what you guys say ibt stresses it out alot, If you have any other tips or settings for me to try please post, Hopefully no more blue screens etc. Iam happy it at least passes ibt!! cause before it was not go at 445fsb also I set my static tread value to 7 as thats what it shows it should be at with the xmp profile 1....
glad that worked for ya mate
use blend custom 8k to 8k to be sure u got good MCH/vdimm etc...if it passes go for full normal blend let it there fore some hours...dont use IBT or Linx why give CPU such a hell...lot of us passed IBT and Lx and failed Blend...
Cheers
Sergio
Looks like Andressergio has got me on the right track, and now I see there is more to clocking then just changing a few settings and hoping the computer boots and pass small ffts...................LOL........will be doing some testing in the morning and will keeps yall posted!
same with me My system has been great and passed everything i threw at it, I followed exactly what he said and bingo it was stable, hhmm maybe i can go tp 4.5 he he he
heres what I was working with last night
LOOKS GOOD! later today iam going to try 4.2 or 4.3 , with andressergio help, my setup is super stable at 4.0! want to see if i can keep same settings and just up fsb , I will post later today on results
Help me! GA-EP45-UD3R Integrated Peripherals bios setting for Windowa XP & AHCI mode
Hello
Excuse my english
I have a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R and three sata HD connected to yellow sata connector 0, 1, 2.
Two ssata Optical Drives (Pioneer 215 & Optiarc 7240) connected to yellow sata connectors 4 & 5.
When i attempt install Windows XP in AHCI mode before to start from WXP CD the screen shows MBR failure and then something about floppy (I have floppy drive installed) but nothing abaut optical drive.
It seems the donīt see the optical drive.
If i install WXP in ide mode no problem but iīm interestin in AHCI because i have a rack and i need Hot swap.
Help me to setting Integrated Peripherals bios setting and/or to se where is the problem.
Thanks
I'm quite sure XP doesn't support AHCI drivers, but I'd wait for someone else to confirm that for you. I couldn't get AHCI to work properly even in W7 64 - always gave me BSODs. It's a shame really because my optical drives ran a lot faster in AHCI then IDE. Anyone else have a solution?
Got my EP45-Extreme yesterday - nice load of copper all over it, and some nice little features like NB temp! It is missing 2 sata ports compared to the UD3P and the bios doen't offer to save profiles to HDD unless you use the very latest F9d. The only huge pain is the fact the board vdroops by a huge 0.1v, so I'm heading into town shortly to get bits for a vmod.
