I've read a lot, and tried a bunch of things. What I am aiming for is a 24/7 nice FSB. I was looking toward a ~4ghz CPU and maybe a synch with my ram, if it does improve performances (so 533mhz as my ram is pc8500, unless I'm wrong about synchronisation).
I've tried to got as much informations as possible before posting here, but I kind of need you guys on this one.
Most of the time, guides talk about Cpu, ram and NB voltages. But when I'm tweaking my T2RS+ and reading you guys, I see new words like Cpu PLL and GTL ratios. And these notions are not explained in the mobo booklet.
Could you explain to me the use or tell me somewhere where I could get informations about these notions? I'm really willing to learn without bothering the members of this forums all the time, but I'm somehow lost here.
Here is my hardware:
CPU: 8400 E0 @ Stock / Watercooled 28°C idle
Corsair Dominator PC8500 5 5 5 15 @ 2.2V
Dfi LanParty DK P45 T2RS + Bios 1003
Corsair HX520
I tried to go as high as 429 FSB, after that no boot to windows.
429 boots windows but freezes after 2 minutes of occt.
I've only modified the Cpu V (Till 1.3), Ram (always 2.2v) and NB V ( till 1.25).
Thanks a lot, and sorry to bother you. Still learning and willing to!
Edit (11/9):
Well, I can boot and run XP @ 495 FSB (6x495).
I did an OCCT for 30 minutes and it ran well. I'll do heavier tests when I'm done.
Here are the settings:
CPU: 1.34V
NB: 1.25V
VTT: 1.23V
RAM: 2.2V
GTLs: 63x 63x 61x
Can't boot at 533, won't even post. Do you guys know a way too boot with the previous settings without clearing the CMOS when the alarm beeps and the screen displays the bios checksum/floppy/keyboard error (bad settings error I suppose)?
Thanks a lot.
