i know it's only 4 phase and no pwm /mof cooling, but then it only has to last 3 month's when i replace it with a UD3P - but i'm a little tapped out after X-mas so this will have to suffice - and it was only a quick trip across the street - either that or the UD3LR /EP45T-UD3P - just for the DDR3 fun - if i can find one..;);)

Hmm is there some way to get less than 2.0 divider? I cant find out if its my ram thats limiting me.
Running 9 x 460 FSB, 2.0D 4-4-4-12 is fine, 1 FSB is crash.
Running 9 x 3xx FSB, 2.6D (Gives 900Mhz on mem with sloppy timings) 5-5-5-18 cant boot
Running 9 x 380 FSB 2.5A 5-5-5-18 gives 950MHZ on mem which can boot.
Running 9 x 460 FSB, 2.0B 5-5-5-18 Runs fine which is the same as 2.0D and tighter timings, But 1 more FSB here also crashes the system, shouldnt that CAS5 give me some headroom if they are the limiting factor?
Do you think Ive hit a FSB wall?

that explains a lot, the bios acts very weird, wont boot at 400 fsb and wont boot with memory divider higher than 4:5 even at 333 fsb, so all overclocking has to be done in windows :shakes:Quote:

as far as fsb limitations go, this is pretty severe. 400x8 2:3 266 strap ddr2-1200 5-5-5-15 pl8 2.2 vdimm 1.2 mch locked up 1 and a half minutes into orthos blend. i expected the memory to run into its limit at these clocks but apparently the mch has run into a wall first. all i can think of is either upping the mch core, mch reference and vdimm just to be sure or prey a different memory divider and strap will work and clock better. right now im just trying to find a divider+strap that will allow for high memory clocks and 450fsb but even that looks like a pipe dream atm :(
edit: tried setting 1.24 mch 0.8 mch ref with et6 locked up on the spot lol. will try 1.3 mch but stock mch ref next.
edit: raising mch core voltage actually causes instant lockup, weird.
edit2: 1200 5-5-5-15 2.2v is definitaly orthos stable but anything higher was a real headache.
1300 5-5-5-15 pl9 was only achieved 2.4 vdimm 1.3 mch 0.8 mch ref and came up with an error just seconds after starting orthos.

Just updated my bios to f10j , boots a lot faster and I saw no loss in latency or no gain which is fine .. figured out that G.skill Pi 7200 don't like at all going past 1000mhz at and setting if loosening up the timings so Sergio was right why I couldn't clock any higher it was a ram limitation , so I bought some G.skills 9600
do I set the 1066 setting to 1200 ? and the what about the divider do I set to 240d ? :D
9600PI'S will love the 2:40B divider (1200) and they are good for 1300Mhz+++ speeds with ease...Quote:

looks like i found my cpus limit, orthos was forced to close a few minutes into orthos at 450x8, luckily i did a sub 13 sec pi 1m time first

looks like im wasting my time trying to push any more until i get the courage to try my dice pot just sitting there on a table. 475fsb is flaky at best, 450fsb seems stable at 1:1 and should be stable at 5:6 too. last night i managed to get 475x7 10 minutes orthos stable but cant stabilize it at higher multies, and thats at 1:1 pl10 1.3 vtt and 1.3mch. incase your wondering why the screenshot only shows 2048mb its because i have gone back to my team xtreem 1300s for now.
UGH First day with new G.skills and Im just having a hard time getting them stable at 1200mhz and keeping My proc just 4050 any recommendations guys, Ive tried lots of different settings but none but this one passed intel burn , but this one which is the same as running my old ram at 4 4 4 10 1.1 450 x 9 in bandwidth terms

i just upgraded my GA-EP45-UD3R BIOS from F8 to F12, doing my 24 hour prime 95 test now with E8500 @ 4GHZ
dustin_ds3000 can ya do a latency test , hopefully they didn't make more stable with any timing sacrifices
Also I hopping they fixed this thing with the dual lans knocking out evrytime I turn power off
