NB volts are a little too much, try 1.4 or less. Once you've done that, try raising the MCH ref a notch at a time, you will also need to do the same for CPU ref. Skews are also important. The 2nd temperature is system temperature, not NB.
Yeah, I was trying to see what kind of volts were needed purely for fsb, but it's nice to see a lower PL ability on this board than the MIIF at 1:1. I assume pull-ins don't work when at pl9, I tried a couple of combos, but nothing seemed to allow me to post properly. When at PL10, I only needed 1.26v for 500fsb large fft stability, but for PL9, I think I'm looking at 1.34 or 1.36, still better than my MIIF :D
just got a new E8400....has the worst VID I've ever had on a wolfdale of 1.2625V!!
However, it's the best clocking E8400 I've ever had. I once had an E8500 that clocked as well as this but never an E8400..... I only have a 92mm Scythe cooler and so far this is stable for a few hours gaming...

Sorry...that should be 1.28V !! lol.
did some more testing and it seems the sweet spot on this chip is 4.725GHz with 1.408V. It fails linX but is totally stable so far gaming and doing a quick CFD simulation
How do I verify that?
well that would explain why I've been disappointed with my bandwidth :(
that's a real pain in the ass. the 4.00 divider is too much to handle on the p45 chipset and the 3.00 is too little! :(
Just have to make do with tighter timings I guess
Theres still 3.20B.
I can't seem to have much luck over 500FSB though with 3.20B
heres a good thread about the issue w/3:5 divider
3:5 divider on X38/P35/X48/P45 is broken, is 2:3 in reality on 400 strap
Is the 2.4b which I'm using, a good strap? Just curious I seem, to not have any issues with it so.. Still curious though.
yes,333 strap 2.40B is 5:6 divider which i found to be the best for me
RAM ratios:for the UD3P
200 strap: 3:4, 3:5, 1:2
266 strap: 4:5, 2:3, 1:2
333 strap: 1:1, 5:6, 5:8, 1:2
400 strap: 1:1, 3:4, 2:3
Have managed to get the 3.20B strap working at higher FSB.

Hi all,
I have my E8400 stable @4.2 but am having some problems getting my DDR3 stable at 1400.
My ram: http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...atinum_edition
I am using the 2.66D strap, is this a good choice or does it matter? I am narrowing the problem down to the boards auto trfc and Trd settings. Getting progresively longer blend runs with trd set progressively lower. Got 4 hours blend at trd 12, trying 11 now. Also have Trfc down to 72 from auto at 78. Is 11 low or high for DDR3 at 1400?
Thanks for any input.
Thanks for the suggestion bluestang, much appreciated, am blending now at 500x8 with 3.2B. I have left my memory timings very loose for first run.
My easytune readout for 4.2 stable with ram at 1050 is below. Is there much benefit to having ram at 1600 over 1050(1:1 FSB:DRAM) with low timings? i know my ram was undercloceked when at 1050 but i am having a tough time gettin blend stable at anything but 1:1.
