o/t: just had a scare over the weekend -- my power went out & upon 'puter restart, both LAN and F/W went south. they showed up in device mgr in winxp and win7, but both had an error codes and would not work. flashed bios back to F9 and bingo -- back in action! flashed back to F10j and all is well again! just thought i'd share a happy ending! :)
hey Jor3lBR thanks for responding...
after your suggestion, i flipped through the manual to look for "MSG+" thinking that it is a different connector...
but that "MSG+" connection is the exact 2 pin connector that's in the Front Panel Header that i was referring to. ( i think you might have got it mixed up :)...but no worries
so my problem (i thought) was that my case Power LED is 3 pin and the mobo Power LED connection is 2 pin....but i was wrong
as it turns out though, flipping through the manual this time helped....apparently there IS a 3 pin Power LED connection on the mobo, and it's right above the "MSG+" connection.
ain't that how it always goes, search and search for something and you don't find it, but search for something else....and bingo! the other thing appears.
well thanks again for your response
It's absolutely easier than the EP45C was. I really hope you have better luck. I saw someone else running one at 550fsb with DDR3 but I really have no clue how he was able to do that.
It could be that the board just didn't play well with my OCZ Plats... dunno. I am still having some problems running at 1800MHz CL8, but can run 1600 CL7 fine...I will play with the board a bit more later on
I just purchased the EP45-UD3P after reading this thread.
I am coming from a Biostar Tpower P45 board combined with my low vid Q9550.
The Biostar just couldn't clock the Q9550 with a 1.17 vid to its potential (4th core is stuck).
Here is a introduction run to test possible voltages on the Q9550.
I installed a pair of my D9GKX Buffalo Firestix 512mb sticks, before moving onto the expensive D9GKX Cellshock's
I combined many of your templates with my own insight to lead up to these results .

^^ very decent Chad. what cooling are you using? nice cpu, have you had that long or purchase recently?
Hey everyone,
is there a known issue with these boards and sound cards? I've use 3 different sound cards plus the onboard audio on 2 different P45-UD3R's and 1 UD3P and I'm getting crackling in my audio on all of them. It is driving me crazy.
(right now I'm listening to music and it's crackling)
CPU usage is not high, and I know it's not the amp/speakers because I tested it with an iPod connected directly to them.
HELP!
very nice chad
Hey guys I've been running this board for a while and was wondering what the main settings in the bios are that I want to pay attention to when overclocking.
Currently I'm sitting at 3.6Ghz with just one bump in vcore. I know not to go over 1.4 on one of the settings I think it was the fsb termination or some such.
I haven't read this whole thread but I figured it's easier to post and get a quick rundown from somebody who really knows what they're talking about. Thanks! :)
So I'm posting this at 4.1GHz, I got here by just bumping the vcore and nothing else.
I have a weird problem now, I just booted into windows and Aero basic is on. Basically windows says I don't have a videocard. I can't see my nvidia control panel when I right click on the desktop.
wtf?!
Edit: Downclocked to 3.6GHz and now everything's back to normal. So obviously I'm not giving it enough volts for 4.1Ghz, guess I'll add more vcore and go from there. Which other settings should I change to help stabilize the system?
Edit2: The system seems to just shut down when I push 4.1Ghz, I know I'm missing something but what? I was at 4.1Ghz with 1.32vcore and I bumped the fsb term from 1.2 up to 1.26 and after I rebooted there was some weird squeaking/squawking coming from my case. It kind of freaked me out so now I'm back at 3.6Ghz. What is going on and what volts do I need to change to make this stable. :(
andressergio i finally got a low vid q9650 and  board died
i wonder who convinced me to cancel my boycott :ROTF:
the only good thing is that i saw cpu priming @ 4.6 for 10 min before the :exlode:
took me an hour to post this as i had to calm down lol
the good thing is cpu still alive:D
These are the kind of posts that put a little concern into me using this board as part of my workstation. What revision was that board zsamz? Are there any hints people could provide to help aviod the board going kaputt on me? I'll have a w/c nb, and will probably put my copper enzotech mosfet sinks on it, so heat shouldn't be a problem.Quote:

I had a missed delivery and am about to go check what it is... May be posting on here again real soon :)
No it's not stable at 7. maybe i'll try a different bios, I dunno....the F8C isn't that new though although it's the newest. I was hoping there'd be an update soon :/
