Hey guys for some reason I can not FLASH to BIOS G27. Grrr Just wondering how you guys are doing it, any special way.

What have you tried so far? We need to know what you did, in order to tell you want you missed or did wrong.

LOL So far I tried the FOX live update and it says it went thru, after rebooting still says G26. I remember I did a BIOS FLASH with my thumb drive can not remember how I did it. :confused:

do you still get those weird differences in temp and voltage readings with the latest BIOS?
this sounds very odd... ive never seen any differences in bios and aegis panel values for temps and voltages :confused:

never ever oc when running raid... never...
oc first, find a stable setting, and then run raid... :)

MotF Bane, the NIC driver hangs during installation or the system hangs/freezes? it sounds like your board is either damaged or your running highly unstable speeds/settings.

Still default settings. If there's any damage, it's not visible, and I was wired for static. It worked when I switched to XP instead of Vista, and the board seems good so far. You've reminded me though... there was a thread somewhere on XS about Vista wanting more voltage in either NB or SB, I'll have to try that. Thanks. :)

more of everything, some people say they need more vcore, some need more vdimm, some need more gpu volts... :D

so was the board not stable at all with vista?
or was it only the nic driver that didnt work with vista?
did you use vista 32 or 64 bit?
how much memory did you use?
there is some memory bug with more than 2gb of memory in vista 64.

I want to keep track of BIOS settings. is it possible to export the BIOS Settings to a text file?

Did you mean XP? If so, try the Aegis panel [voltages], SetFSB, MemSet. There are quite a few programs you can use.

no, thats not possible on any board afaik...

well, there isnt one tool to read all the system settings... well everest gets pretty close to it... but it doesnt show you all the setings you configured in BIOS
if you can wait i will post an excel spreadsheet with all BIOS options that you can use to save all the settings :)

of course, this means you need a second system running to type in the settings, and you have to type in the settings manually...
but you can as well print ou the excel speadsheet and then write it down on paper... its not perfect, but its better than nothing :D

there is a bug during vista 64 installation that can show its ugly side by preventing installation with 4GB or more ram, install with one stick, patch vista and then put ram back in.

yeah i know, quite ironic isnt it?
the main migration point to go from xp to vista 64 was to be able tu use 4gb and to be able to use memory more efficiently...
and then theres a bug that keeps freezing the vista install with 4gb or more :lol:

Yes still getting very different results in temp b/t BIOS and Ageia panel...Even with BIOS G28 which sucks big time!!!

YEP the whole system is more stable with setting on -2 over dll on G27 BIOS. G28 is a whole new ball game!!

for me its the same as G27 and G26... :shrug:

are you using the latest version of aegis panel?
can you please check the temps and voltages again?
and please make sure you read them in the same condition =same ambient temperature, same fansped if possible, both with case open etc.

i havent heard from anybody else about differing voltage and temp readings from bios to aegis panel...
the panel reads the same registers as the BIOS... there shouldnt be a difference at all afaik...

So i fired up my Blackops last night

need to find out how to flash bios, do i do it in dos or is there a bios utility like some asus boards.

also where is "G28" is that the latest.?

G28 is on the quantum force site.
From the Boot up screen, press ALT+F2 to access the flash utility.

Hey guys I think I just lost more board? I think the controller went out? I was trying some OC runs, and after Windows Vista Home Prem x32 restarted. It went thru the normal screens and beeps and went thru the scrolling from left to right (green) windows loading thing. But when it gets to the last WINDOWS LOGO with sounds where windows will load it just resets again.(controller reseting) I tried everything, from cmos resets, battery taken out, power supply unplugged, different BIOSes P04 and G26 and nothing. I still see my RAID -0- in start. I just here it click and it resets and starts over no matter what I do? So I am thinking it is toast and in need of a RMA? Any ideas??

what makes you think its the mainboards fault and its damaged?
sounds more like you blew the raid image, windows install or hdd, possibly memory?
Does it work at stock speed?
what speed are you running?

I was running stable at a 4.2Ghz starting to try higher OC with FSB and memory for about 1 hour no problems. Then after I set it back to my default OC I had saved it went thru the cycle of booting and when it gets to the last part of Windows SOUND and LOGO it just reset. Also it shows my RAID -0- normal and healthy at start up? I am not saying it is the boards fault just wondering what it can be? You say I may have blown a raid image no idea what that mean saaya? If I did do this will it still show that my raid is HEALTHY at start up? Or does this mean I just need to re-install windows? Also I am using my new G Skill and I tried 1 stick only. I even tried my other 1GB stick of Crucial same thing? And Nope at stock speeds.

Hmm i cant get any OC going on at all, the BIOS (27, G28) keeps setting my FSP/memory back at 1333Mhz nomather what i try, i can't even get the memory to run 1600Mhz as they are rate at only thing i can get up and running is 1333Mhz.

it sounds to me like windows is corrupted for some reason...
did you try to boot in safe mode? (keep F5 pressed during bootup... or was it F8? :p: ) did you try the raid rebuild option in the raid controler menu?
can you boot from a single hdd? do you have one you have windows on or can install windows on?
all this at clockspeed please, since the systme might be unstable and you could corrupt the hdds even more.

dMITIj, please post more details either in this or the other thread, try to stick to one thread please, otherwise it gets confusing :D

Well I tried everything other then delete my RAID -0-. But as of now I am going to try that and see if it will boot all the way if it does then great the board is working if not I will have to RMA it. :( I was planning on going to 4 x 1GB sticks of G Skill PC-12800 for 64 bit any ways. So I will be back to see if it lets me re-install windows x32 bit and if it does then I will order the other 2sticks of memory. I will report back.
