I have the blue version of the first one and it is very, very bright.
Ordered some more stuff today:
1x120mm Arctic Cooling Fan
1x80mm Arctic Cooling Fan
1x120mm Yate Loon D12-SL
2x 12" Red CCFls
Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B
8)
I picked the red CCFLs marketed by SVC because I'm pretty sure they're the Sunbeam ones and FragTek has had those and they were very nice.
Wow guys, this is a really noob question but...do I need to use washers when installing my mobo? I ask because most guides online don't use them, on my first build I used them..
If I do need to use them the arrangement is as so:
standoff>washer>mobo>washer>screw into standoff
So basically one washer ontop of standoff, mobo sits on standoff + washer and screw with washer below head goes into mobo + standoff. Right? :)
Definitely post picks of your CCFLs in action. As for washers I really don't think they are necessary but you can use them if you want.
You don't need any washers when you install the mobo in to the case. Just screw the mobo to the standoff's and your set. I'm also building a new rig and my ram+mobo should arrive next tuesday or wednesday. G-Skill F2-6400PHU2-GBHZ ram and DFI Infinity Dark P965-S mobo :) I have not yet decided which cpu and videocard to buy...
I use the felt washers between the mobo and screw, not the standoffs. Just to be sure you get a snug fit, but not overtightened. I've seen a lot of people say if you use them, the mobo won't be grounded to the case and it causes problems. Well, the whole point is the mobo is grounded to the PSU and not the case, so the PSU can do it's job protecting your components. Aluminum cases don't make good grounds anyway, now do they? :)
The rig looks like it's going to be sweet. Get those pics and some OC results up soon.
None of my 5 up and running computer have washers. Most of the time the metal rings are meant to be grounded.
Al makes good ground material. Please Read the mounting instructions in your motherboard manual and follow those instructions.
The funny thing is that Lian Li's motherboard tray is so frackin' cheap, it strips before it gets too tight:rofl: Mine has a small Nut on the other side to hold one of the stand offs. Then there's constantly tightening the Sides, the case rattles if you don't. You have to carefully connect and disconnect from the PCI cards because the thin assed tray let's the cards come loose. Out of my Whole rig, the Case is only surpassed in suckyness by my RAM. When I bought it, not since since I'd love an 8800 GTS 640MB:)
Lol not so sure about ur Li-Li comments but anyways...
Found a nice P5K on my doorstep after school. Pics soon :)
Lian Li cases are awesome. The removable motherboard tray really helps.
Nice rig man... almost like mine! haha
Please make note. I'm NOT talking about every Lian Li case on the market. I'am talking about the 7B. I own the case and it's not one of the better cases out there. It's paper thin, flimsy and even the non removable motherboard tray is weak flexes too much.
Old TTGI/Superflower 301, Thermaltake, Cooler Master, Timjin and etc. many ship with motherboard trays that are actually worth a damned. I've only been building computer since 1993 and maybe I'm just use to better:D

To the other guy, no, I'm NOT the only one who thinks it cheap and too thin or that it rattles. If I thought was a total POS, I would have RMA-ed mine. Hell even read the Newegg reviews and you'll see some of the same complaints. Now way in hell I'd give it a 5 stars LOL. It seems to me that the more good computer cases a users has went through, the less impressive the Lian Li 7B looks.
