FAIL. Can't write some tables to the EPPROM resulting in "brick". Just blind flashed back to my old bios. Used the "--index=0 xxx.rom" command, gave me a mismatch so force flashed it with "-4 -5 -6 xxx.rom but like i said, it erases the EPPROM but fails to flash it. Any ideas?

All three bios versions are 61KB large.
I flased it so often and had no problems.

Anyone having any difficulty overclocking the memory on their GTX 470s?
I've had my core all the way up to 750 no problem, but when I overclock the memory even a smidgen, I get artifacts and lock ups :shrug:
Would flashing to another BIOS help me with this problem?

Yeah i'm sure you're doing it right, but as you can see the attachments here are ~45kb or so almost 20kb too small and i'm sure this is the problem. Flashing back to my older bios or any other 61kb bioses from techpowerup is not a problem.

I think I need to get some better fans, i'm using 900prm Noiseblockers as intakes and there's definitely a hot spot around the top card. The bottom cards dropped full load in Combuster by 10c but the top one's no better than the stock cooling. I might be at the edge of what the MK-13s are capable of perhaps? I put them on mainly for silence anyway so I'm fairly happy with the results, 750 on stock volts and 775 with 1087.

I think you need high rpm fans, because i tried it on my gtx480 and vith low rpm fans (about 1000rpm) i had more than 12 degrees higher temperature than with 1700rpm fans. Anyway, the tempriture was very high 108 and then 96 degrees, so MK-13 can not handle GTX480s heat with low noise.Quote:

I have recently seen an interesting review with power consumption comparison on air and water for the 2 480 cards in SLI.
At full load (furmark) cards under water used 124W less than on air!
This difference is for the whole system so it's not exactly just the cards - the system under water has 2 less delta fans to run but has pumps + bunch of rad fans, but obviously this number is far more useful than just the chip usage.

What he said. You only need a GPU block, the stock coldplate will take care of the rest even at 1.21V... My card maxes out at around 940Mhz core and 2218 mem (max in nVidia Inspector) @ 48C max. Funny thing is, i'm running my GTX480 ay 900Mhz and 1.08V 24/7 but it takes 1.17V to hit 925Mhz and 1.21V at 935Mhz...Quote:

What are you saying, you removed the front plate completely?? Man, i wouldn't recommend running bare VRM's on a 300W card. Maybe your VRM's were overheating before due to bad thermal tape mount or bad contact with the plate.
I'm going to put an additional fan to cool the front plate and see if it helps voltage scaling. I want 950Mhz benchable real bad without going too much ghetto with my case/cooling setup.
even on ln2 they overheat as -60c is the cold slow temp, so I wouldnt recommend leaving them bare on air/water :up:Quote:

For 850 you prolly won't need much over stock volts, prolly 1.06V in worst case IMO. Things get bumpy at around 875Mhz and up, but i think getting 900Mhz for 24/7 usage on water is fairly easy. BTW, extra volts and less heat help the memory clocks a lot.

My card reach a max at 890 and is rock solid at 870 1.080, video card mb temp dont pass 43° got a really good 3 X 12 fans intake , core max at 53°.
My impressions are that a card that pass 900 is in the luck of the draw and golden sample range 950-960 , this without subzero.

You Guys since I placed the watercooling block on the GPU it now makes a funny noise when I use the Kombustor on the MSI afterburner and even though the temps are low, it actually makes a burning sound??!! :eek: so am scare on the long run it could damage the card after playing games for a long time....??
