You know how to flash it?
P.S.
Here my full Review off the card:

Edit:
Donīt be afraid, Thats not the default voltage, you can manage it as like befor.
Could you please post a lionk to the editor so i could unlock it myself?
Anyway here's a link to my BIOS. 1.2V+ Please :D

ok i understand here it is.
Thank you bro. I owe you one :clap:
edit : nevermind. Had to rename it to rar
Yes i know how to do it :)

Olli
Awesome. Thank you sir.
EDIT :
FAIL. Can't write some tables to the EPPROM resulting in "brick". Just blind flashed back to my old bios. Used the "--index=0 xxx.rom" command, gave me a mismatch so force flashed it with "-4 -5 -6 xxx.rom but like i said, it erases the EPPROM but fails to flash it. Any ideas?
Whats up guys, ... new bios = new oc results! :D come on!!
I'm getting errors flashing my card. Whats the command? Looks like your modded bios is smaller thazn it should be so i'm guessing it should only update some tables?
Can you unlock 470sc Voltage limit too...
Here : http://techpowerup.com/vgabios/73211...80.100409.html
You can send it via PM no prom...thanks in advance.
All three bios versions are 61KB large.
I flased it so often and had no problems.
Command: nvflash -5 -6 biosname.rom
Which version of nvflash do you use?
Anyone having any difficulty overclocking the memory on their GTX 470s?
I've had my core all the way up to 750 no problem, but when I overclock the memory even a smidgen, I get artifacts and lock ups
Would flashing to another BIOS help me with this problem?
Please OliverM84, can you mod FTW bios?
or explain how to?
http://www.box.net/shared/tnlb42z97j
link for fermi bios editor?
i dont know man but every bios i've tried is 61kb in size and every bios you uploaded here is only 41kb or so. I'm thinking it's the forum issue.
could you try emailing me the bios, not zipped.
thegooner78@gmail.com
Sorry and thanks.
When i save my own bios vom the forum, its 61KB ....
I send it per mail to you.
Olli
Yeah i'm sure you're doing it right, but as you can see the attachments here are ~45kb or so almost 20kb too small and i'm sure this is the problem. Flashing back to my older bios or any other 61kb bioses from techpowerup is not a problem.
Again thanks, and sorry for bothering you.
edit - yep it appears to be working. I'll prolly be able to push it past 930Mhz now.

thanks again.

Very impressive Oliver!
alternate to nibitor ........ till now we were only dependent on nibitor to edit bios (its certainly the best)
Let's speak for myself :)
You can not change the fan profile with this tool.
There will be no public downloadlink at all!
Its internal and very experimental stuff, its as it is, it will not be fixed if it contains bugs, it will not developed any further, and it will not be published at all.
No alternate at all, its just for Fermi, just for very limted features, and not public. ;-)
I build it for my own needs only and it wont go any further than this. I also can not guarantee that its working for all fermi bioses and all cards out there.
If some people are aware of all the risks that my tool offers, and still want to check it out, they can PM me and i will give it to them with the simple restriction of not to redistribute or share it in any way.
Attachment 103999i'd be in dept to you if you can help me get some more volts on my galaxy 470 if you could?
its coming up corrupted in attachments??

Decided to try out some MK-13s on my 470s.

I think I need to get some better fans, i'm using 900prm Noiseblockers as intakes and there's definitely a hot spot around the top card. The bottom cards dropped full load in Combuster by 10c but the top one's no better than the stock cooling. I might be at the edge of what the MK-13s are capable of perhaps? I put them on mainly for silence anyway so I'm fairly happy with the results, 750 on stock volts and 775 with 1087.
Here's what i got from my GTX470
http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/8998/29245741.jpg
will OC it more ASAP
I think you need high rpm fans, because i tried it on my gtx480 and vith low rpm fans (about 1000rpm) i had more than 12 degrees higher temperature than with 1700rpm fans. Anyway, the tempriture was very high 108 and then 96 degrees, so MK-13 can not handle GTX480s heat with low noise.
I think you should consider fixing the bottom heatsink on that second GPU over time it will warp your PCB. I don't know if you noticed the difference between both, but the bottom card heatsink is not straight.
Regards
P.S. you yill eventually get a constant beep ..... when the GPU dies
this is the real deal right here,ab and my voltmeter say the same thing :)
OliverM84 is the man:D
thanks bro
if your ever in new jersey the drinks are on me :D

if you guys try this chilled water or better i think.
i'll send you 1 of my 480 bios too if its ok.
Good OliverM84, I can give you 480 POV bios modified with frequencies 825/1650/2005/1.025v max 1.213 V.
Thank you.
Sorry for my bad English.
Can you please modify bios for my Asus 470 gtx.

Can mod this bios to max volts ? Thank you :) is newest version around from a EVGA SuperClocked GTX 480 .
This ek block on just a single loop looks can take more heat so far ;)

880 2200 is my actual 24/7 setting rock solid at 1.138, but 900+ is a no go just activating it barely hold in desktop mode.
Thanks
I returned here to test :
so far just to bench 900/4200 1.1V GTX470 Full Air - 24*c ambient :
http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/489...nlocked.th.jpg
AfterBurner is not recognizing Voltage limit :(
But 1.58V to Vmem let me bench 4400 and 4360mhz Atitool free :yepp:

soory pr@$r1g wont be able to compete with you this time :D Got a 980x watercooled workstation/gaming/cruncher rig in the work but maybe later i could squeeze in a gtx470 and see what i can do and do another fun comp with you. hd5770 comp was fun and i might try it with the 980x back since i got a waterblock for it. I could maybe take back my spot :D

I have recently seen an interesting review with power consumption comparison on air and water for the 2 480 cards in SLI.
At full load (furmark) cards under water used 124W less than on air!
This difference is for the whole system so it's not exactly just the cards - the system under water has 2 less delta fans to run but has pumps + bunch of rad fans, but obviously this number is far more useful than just the chip usage.
Here's the google-translated link for those interested in the topic:

Hi guys am happy to say that am a proud owner of a ZOTAC 480 GTX at the time I thought of buying a POV series cos it was cheaper but the guys on Scan took too long to send me one and decided to cancel the order now I regreat it as it looks like is the best one hardware wise that is ... http://i39.tinypic.com/157c4n.jpg I can see that the POV series has higher bandwidth, texture and pixel even the Palit series http://home.btconnect.com/fiskov/images/480oc.gif compared to the ZOTAC http://benchmarkreviews.com/images/r...Video_Card.png so anyway I was wondering whats the highest OC you can do with the card without Voltages and and also what would be the highest OC Voltages could get ya with out burning the chip I would be getting a GPU waterblock ...
could u mod this 470 bios for max volts pritty pleaseeee:)
palit 480gtx +cascade:D
hi and thankkks m8 but ever time its corrupt so cant get zip or rar to open it m8 any chance u could put it some were eles not on the forums please lol tyy

@OliverM84
can help me for max volts, please
i find it :)
Quick run with extra juice. I'm going to have to beef up my w/c loop soon. Might try the latest 197.75 drivers later.

get a download manager and download with it, problem will disappear.
THIS!!!! You :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing ROCK Bro
So glad i still have my WC 470 in its box
Can someone email me that bios please.

1.175V - and kick voltage in load =(( I need remove OVP
can someone send me link for the fermi bios editor pls
im cold right now with my 470 on dice with an olli unlock bios...not much brewing over 950ish no matter how many volts.....getting pauses in gt4 03 killing my score....same with 06 sm3.0 second test.
temps in the -50 ,-30 post load
first boot temps
http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/9160/470cold.jpg
3d03 940/1100 1.137...was the lowest i needed
http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/3162/47003104267.jpg
at 950-1050 it was putting up good numbers.
gt4 then the party was over .
its a pity u cant release the prog since to get u hands on the new nibitorv5.6 u have to chip in and its like $25 a go as i read on another forum + im getting the feeling that modding the bios to let u have 1.2 v on the core needs other setting changed as well that or its been controled by the driver once we find out what is controling it we can set about changeing it that way msi affterburner will do the rest
How are you guys keeping these 470s cool at those speeds....Im getting like 95c with the core speed set to like 625mhz
Watercooling ;)
What he said. You only need a GPU block, the stock coldplate will take care of the rest even at 1.21V... My card maxes out at around 940Mhz core and 2218 mem (max in nVidia Inspector) @ 48C max. Funny thing is, i'm running my GTX480 ay 900Mhz and 1.08V 24/7 but it takes 1.17V to hit 925Mhz and 1.21V at 935Mhz...
It prolly takes DICE or LN2 to get it to bench at 950Mhz+, or there's a voltage somewhere that needs bumping other than VGPU...
Same here.
My Zotac 480 with aquacomputer total coverage WB is able to reach 850 MHz @ 1.05 V and 900 MHz @ 1.1 V.
From this frequency the needed voltage start to rise in a rather vertical line.
I can reach 950 MHz @ 1.13 V but only desktop is stable.
I can not reach 1 GHz ever at afterburner max voltage value.
flash the modded bios with 1.212v max voltage....
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...9&d=1273147820
i removed plate now, cooling with MCW60 for GPU and direct airflow VRM area. with plate had mosfet overheat
tested:
http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/496...bablx10.th.gif
What are you saying, you removed the front plate completely?? Man, i wouldn't recommend running bare VRM's on a 300W card. Maybe your VRM's were overheating before due to bad thermal tape mount or bad contact with the plate.
I'm going to put an additional fan to cool the front plate and see if it helps voltage scaling. I want 950Mhz benchable real bad without going too much ghetto with my case/cooling setup.
Yeah they do run surprisingly cool compared to the rather low quality ATi cards, 120C+ on the VRM's anyone, but they don't run THAT cool... I wouldn't risk running my card without any cooling on the VRM's especially with extra juice being pumped thru them little fookers.
I'm wondering if anyones tried popping the IHS yet on their GTX470/480 :D
Right guys I got myself a waterblock for my 480 GTX
http://www.dazmode.com/store/images/...gtx-nickel.jpg
Hopefully I can get 850 core mhz out this baby without overheating LOLz what you guys think? might need 1.12 volts!!
For 850 you prolly won't need much over stock volts, prolly 1.06V in worst case IMO. Things get bumpy at around 875Mhz and up, but i think getting 900Mhz for 24/7 usage on water is fairly easy. BTW, extra volts and less heat help the memory clocks a lot.
Cool thanks QuadDamage Ill see how much differences on temps I get with the Waterblock and then ill see how much OC I can get out of it ill post some benchmarks and temp reading tomorrow ...
Yeah!! City Link just send me the waterblock !!
http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/4435/img0084kd.jpg
What happend ?
DETAILS or it didn't happen. No seriously what happened? Lemme guess you cut a few traces and/or caps/res's while trying to pop the IHS? Your w/c loop sprung a leak perhaps?
edit : sorry to hear that man.
work only without driver.(or windows safe mode)
before, they crash on game start....
now im waiting rma.....
1.138 cant be voltage limit when they ship somestock cards at 1.085, wish some fermi ln2 guru give us some more infos heheheh.
Saw a vcore mod, but no clue on how much raise and not much clear for me the wording about, gains on min fps.
Also same thread speak like soft volt mod is partial overvolt i think :P
My card reach a max at 890 and is rock solid at 870 1.080, video card mb temp dont pass 43° got a really good 3 X 12 fans intake , core max at 53°.
My impressions are that a card that pass 900 is in the luck of the draw and golden sample range 950-960 , this without subzero.
Finally got my 2 480
microcenter stores are pretty much all stocked

You Guys since I placed the watercooling block on the GPU it now makes a funny noise when I use the Kombustor on the MSI afterburner and even though the temps are low, it actually makes a burning sound??!! so am scare on the long run it could damage the card after playing games for a long time....??
what you guys think?
The Buzzzz looks normal for nvidia cards :P
I know the feeling i am coming from ati and first time ear it was scared too
Uhff thanks dude is not my first nvidia card that I watercool but is probably the first one powerfull enough to make this sound under pressure... ill monitor temps and noises ....
Is anyone having problems where their 470 will now downclock to 2d speeds when idle/desktop? I'm using a 9800gt with different drivers if it makes a diff.
