Great stuff... good job ocing on air... did you lap true or i7?
I was able to OC my qx9650 to 4.7ghz on air as well... That's pretty similar as 9650 is rated at 3.0ghz versus 3.33 for i7...
But anyways, good job. :clap:

Spi1m @5200Mhz ->1.39V, -100° on our w3540...
Damn nice :shocked:
I don't know why, but I fear my 975 might be degrading already... 4,6 ain't stable any more... also I can't get a 3D06 run at 4,8 :shakes:
So much for Intel's 1,55V Vcore max :rolleyes:
My jaw is hanging open, but to be on XS you expect to be surrounded by such excellence, 5GHz on TRUE Air cooling with an i7 975 Engineering Sample :)
I agree. 5Ghz on air is good.. but do you guys really care about suicide screens?
for me myself I think vantage/06 cpu test is the best way to judge a cpu....
ok :D

of course on cascade...
Hoschi was using a P6T V2 on other W3540 Benches he posted. Here is Hoschi SuperPi run with that W3540.

3DMARK says 4967MHz and the CPUZ says 5304MHz?

The 4967 is based on the 22 (Non Turbo Multi and the Bootup BClk Used of approx 226).
The 5304 is based on the 23 Multi (Turbo) and another 5 BClk added from software that increased it after the bootup.

with wich mobo???
Hoschi, those results are Sweet. Xeons kick bigger butt over their Sister big & bad D0 butts.
I am hoping the W3580 will come out also on May 31st with the i7 975.
Then I'll be snagging the Xeon equiv of the i7 975, which is a No Brainer.
It does. V2-V3 Has been benching it and showing screen shots.
Here is a screen shot showing Multi unlocked.
http://hwbot.org/ResultBrowseByProce...puModelId=1860
So, because it is an ES chip the Multi is unlocked?
my retail w3570:
http://www.benchbrothers.de/bilder/diverses/w3570.jpg
Well if a Retail W3570 has an Unlocked Multi because it is just a Xeon i7 965EE, then a W3580 (which is a Xeon i7 975EE) would have an Unlocked multi also?
Great cpu, great results, PcCriminal. :up:
That is a seriously impressive clock on air, albeit hardcore air lol.
If you think retail chips will do this....I have a bridge to sell you.
5.0ghz validation? The enthusiasm here is about as high as a girl who just got a pony and a pair of tits. But in the world of benching, the care is zilch, or at least I would hope.... The chip pulled a 1m @ 4.75. Now that I can take in with a grain of salt due to it being an ES, but at least it can be taken with solidity. I would have liked to see a worthy 32m run because honestly 1m runs are not impressive to pull. Oh and some load temps. Just showing the idle is a bit odd not to mention not showing LINX passes.
The rest of the 975 d0s are showing screens without much cooling information. I saw mention of SS and LN2 though. That sounds about right for the 5.0+ pulls. But we are far in relation to air cooling there.
I'm sure I'll get nice and flamed, and called ungrateful even though this is a $1k+ swing. I'm a watcher of the 975 because I hope to buy one but what I'm seeing here is one worthwhile screenshot.
God ! This 975 on air is better than my 965 on LN2 :ROTF: Conratz ! :clap:
i7 9xx D0 under caskade (-105°)

@ boblemagnifique: Why did you blanked the i7 950 naming in the cpu-z?.. :D :p:
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

boblemagnifique,you forget to delete 950 in sing
How about i7 975 + classified? :D
ah-ah! PcCI2, the smoking isn't good for your health!!!:ROTF::rofl:
wow
i want you make big result
correct..

i havent really got to play with the W3580, im kinda not in the benching leauge anymore.
I had 3 to bin from, took the best one, and passed the other 2 samples.
Binning = fun :P
