Well, I don't game much and I like fairly quiet machines. Think I actually got the "OC'd" version in the regular box because clocks are 800core/1170GDDR4, double-slot cooler with heatpipes and extremely quiet except under heavy 3d loading - all for $119 after $20MIR. The only quiet 48xx solution I've seen is a silent Gigabutt with a beautiful cooler but it's big bux and their RMA process scares me if I ever have an issue with that space heater.
That 4870 non-x2 is purty, but loud from what I've read.

Ket, do you have to add/remove/edit the cpu features for a given cpu you add to the bios or does it pull those features and their states programmatically?
Bit of both, as long as the BIOS has the support for the chip the BIOS "knows" whats what and the relevent CPU options are then made available in the BIOS.

I'm back, folks. I edited my original post in this thread earlier today and will re-edit as necessary to update goings-on.
I bought Ace's board for Ket based on people's commitments and Ace's short timeframe. So far I have actually gotten two donations of $15 & $28 dollars with the second party committing to send $10 more tomorrow. If you send me money, please do include your XS screen-name so that I can give you proper credit here for all to see and Ket to do his RAM offer. If you would rather remain anonymous, that's cool too I suppose.
We originally thought the board was going to be $135US shipped, but actually it was $140 and I'm sure Ace won't mind verifying this here if needed. The board has been shipped via USPS and I have the tracking info Ace provided to me. He sent it as a 'gift' and claimed the value at $95US.
So basically my $10 plus the $43 I've received thus far recovers $53 of the $140 outlay I put up to get the board moving.
I sincerely thank you for your support no matter what amount you can or care to donate, it is all going to what I feel is a good cause.

shipping cost went up due to the USPS quoting me a service that requires the board to go into an USPS Flat Rate box which is to small...not until i got into the final stages of buying and then printing the shipping label did it tell me of this requirement...so...i had to start all over again.
starting anew increased the price by about $5 which allowed me to use my own box.

Bailey my cat pictured above, was from the ASPCA in my area. He was abandoned in a warehouse at about 5 weeks old. My girlfriend went down there saw him and brought him home. He is the best cat I have ever owned. :up:

Yep Tasha is like that. Every day without fail she has to come visit me at various times as is her "routine" and first thing in the morning without fail she will either sit at my door until I come out or jump on my bed for a hug, shes awesome :up:

Well actually there are two things in that video. First at three points in the video you will hear the music slow down. Turn up your volume. Second, yes I guess you could call it lag, where it seems like the mouse sticks to the computer screen, then jumps to where it is supposed to be. It does that when the sound slows down.
Any ideas?

Well Marcam, Tiberius may actually be a low to mid-content wolf mix. He has the large /wide head & jaw in relation to body size, very large and 'thick' feet (like he's wearing platform soles), and exhibits 'dual' behavior like dog and wolf meaning he will switch gears from one to the other depending upon his immediate environment. I had Tiber plus two fosters (Xena=HUGE female and Kye=small male) in my home last Winter and it was quite interesting at times. We had a few 'extra orifice' incidents when the fosters did not properly respect him but they sorted it quickly without intervention needed (but man did it ever look ugly when the Kye did not want to submit at first).

Regarding the Nfarce 780i, didn't Nvidia get in some crap a while back about sending a bad batch of laptop chipsets out to vendors and they actually made their way into machines? I'm not anti-Nvidia but Intel hasn't ever let me down - just AS*Stek with two crap boards lately in the form of a P5K Pro with gigabit one post/nongigabit LAN on the next and my well documented and flaky P5Q-E. I know occasionally any vendor can have a 'funky' item or two but the first 'E' was the replacement for the P5K Pro so it really chafed my hide. :shakes:

She gets up there all on her own, she either jumps from the counter top or from wherever she can get enough height. It was a game for her at my old place. Usually at night she would go from the top of the dresser, to the top of the door, jump down, yes all the way to the floor, dart down the hall, back in the room on the dresser then the door again and repeat, literally until she almost passed out she was so tired. :ROTF::ROTF: She has crazy hops also, and when she is in a playful mood, I get out the toy with the feather that flows through the air on the end of a pole, and she goes nuts. I am 6' tall and she will get shoulder height on me easily. The other funny thing is she is long and thin. Weighs only 7 1/2lbs.
Bailey on the other hand has some Mancoon in him. He is BIG, but not fat. Big paws, weighs about 11 lbs. He is more lazy, except when he feels like playing, but when he gets going, Bella can not even outrun him. :D Plus I think he has some of Keanu Reeves powers, I have literally watched him run sideways along the back of the couch when in a full sprint. He is an awesome tracker, and would probably make a great barn cat. I swear any fly that enters this house is dead shortly there after. He literally will trap them between his paws, put them to the ground, then when he lifts his paw and they go to fly away, he catches them mid flight in his mouth. Its kinda disgusting but amazing at the same time. They get tons of attention, all the toys a cat could ever want and he really gets a kick out of playing with my Pictus Catfish in my freshwater tank. Oh did I mention he barks like a dog and fetches... :ROTF::ROTF: He will sit at the screen door, and stalk a bug on the other side, wait til the right moment and then attacks. Of course the screen is in the way, but as he pounces he lets out what I can only describe as a bark. At times so loud that it makes me jump! :shocked:
Ok enough rambling, it is fun to meet someone who also cares very much for his animals, well and animals in general.

Anybody got an extra ATI passive-sink PCIE card lying around? My X1950XT is getting fan-screechy and this particular machine does not need much if any 3D.
PS- if anyone in the Southeastern US wants a nice 11 month old female German Shepherd... I'm trying to place her before having to bring her into my home and would rather not have puppy destruction, but I need to get her out of the situation she's in now. We need an animal rescue section! :ROTF:
I am with you on that. The ASPCA has a great website and there are always shelters in most areas. They do what they can. I actually donate to my local one with food etc... when I can.Quote:
