i am impress with the board's performance....definitely DDR3 is a PLUS, at least on this board.
i did some benching at a moderate overclock on this new 9650...i used 1T and 2T...there is a small difference between using the two...the ultimate difference was, i could run wPrime but i could not complete 3D2001...not until i change to 2T would it complete a successful run.
the difference between 1T and 2T at least for read speed is 2%...not a whole lot when you consider that i can complete 3D2001 run by just lowering the command rate to 2T.
also, notice that i was able to attain a slightly better 3D2001 at a LOWER Mhz on the QX9650...1st 3D2001 slide is the Q6600@3.9 Ghz (memory speed 868 versus 736 Mhz in the 2nd slide) while the 2nd slide is the QX9650@3.68 Ghz.
a explanation for the better performance at a lower Mhz is due to being able to use CAS 6 and PL=7...

My Bench Read 10317 Write 10126 Ratio 98.15% Your 10405/9791 = 94.10% Aboiut 400 points down.
I'm not sure i'm still a bit sceptical that the Everest write bench hasn't shifted, a bit like the old sandra timings slipped & changed through different versions.

Like we were saying the other day, dual core ,higher FSB gives more memory clocking options for sure with ddr3. Like I said then , max stable FSB on my Q6600 is 470. I've not done that much with my quad on this board.

I'm still having problems getting the memory frequency adjusted. The highest frequency I can get is 1333 with 4.00B. I have that Gigabyte utility EasyTune5Pro installed on my computer, should I try that? Any other suggestions, Ace.

I've already d/led the two newer files of the Bios that you've suggested. What's the best way to flash the Bios on the Gigabyte board? Just as a sidenote I don't have a floppy drive installed on my computer.
I've used Gigabyte's @BIOS ( within windows that is ) without a single failure/issue.
OK, I got it figured out and I have flashed the Bios up to the F5a Bios. I will change the settings a little later on.

all looks GREAT, but beware of your Vcore being to high unless you are using a Vapo unit...your have a large difference between what easy tune pro says is set and what cpuz is telling you...i found out that cpuz was reading 0.05 less than what was actually read from the board, so be careful.Quote:

Upon Ace-A-Rue's advice I'm posting my problem here and hoping someone can get me straightened out. Just upgraded my computer to a Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 mainboard, an Intel e8400 processor, and 4 gigs (2x2048) of G.Skill DDR3 1600-HZ memory. I also added a Silverstone Strider 850w PSU. My problem is that I cannot get the G.Skill memory to run at DDR3 memory speeds. My processor is currently set at 3.00 GHz (333x9) while the memory is running at 1066 mhz with 1.5v. I've been trying to run a small OC of 3.2 GHz (8x400) and the memory set at 1600 mhz. Every time I change the FSB to 400 and boot into windows within a few moments I get a BSOD. I've tried using that Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) set to Profile1 and both System Memory Multiplier (SPD) and Dram Timing Selectable (SPD) set to auto and booted back into windows. This lasted the longest sofar, almost 10 minutes before the BSOD came. What am I missing? Below is a listing of the settings I'm currently running in the MIT. One more question, what voltage should my processor be set at an OC of 3.2 GHz.

first thing you need to do is up the DDR3 Overvoltage Control , Normal = 1.50v, at 1600Mhz your ram needs 1.90v so you need an overvolyage of +0.40v
try that & see what happens if it still fails try increasing (G) MCH Overvoltage Control to around +0.20v
the one thing i noticed about this board is the fact it will run at 1600 mhz in memory speed but everything needs to be in auto and that little gem makes the cpu underclock, which i do not likeQuote:

i've made some recommendations in red next to the bios setting that might need to be addressed
START with those voltages first to make sure everything is stable; once satisified, you can start reducing the voltages to find a lower value that will work...remember, your memory (same as mine) is rated at 1600 Mhz @ 1.9v for Vdimm...Code:MB Intelligent Tweaker (MIT)

i tried the above settings and it is working so far...i did have a problem in the beginning when i used CAS=7 and STATIC tREAD Delay=7...when i raised them to 8 and 8, all seemed to settle down...i ran 4 cores on Super_PI 1M and it hung in there with the above settings...now i am running wPrime (both benches)
so far it passed 5 minutes of Prime 95...i am now trying your vcore since my vcore was approximately 1.25v...of course, my problem becomes multiplied since i am priming 4 cores versus your 2 cores.
i ran almost 60 minutes on Prime 95 with a vcore set something around yours...so...your vcore should work nicely....GOOD LUCK!:)

F5C sadly ,doesn't do anything for me, was playing previously at 520x8@3.33D 1,733 7,7,7,12 benched great on F5A wouldn't post on F5C. Despite reflashing was getting some odd actions with the CPU Host clock comtrol. wouldn't stick on manual.

I'm afraid that the setting you suggested Ace did not work. I think this G.Skill memory is defective or at least won't run at 1600 mhz speed. As any time I try to get this memory to 1600 mhz I get nothing but BSODs. Maybe it's time to try some other brand of memory and RMA this G.Skill. Any suggestions?
bummer!...if you want the best memory, try CellShock at tankguys.com...it is expensive and they do only make 2 x 1gb kits as of yet...SuperShanks has some and from his experience, there is no doubt in my mine that he is getting great performance out of it.
my other recommendation if CellShock is to expensive; buy OCZ...they are reasonable in price and performance should be on par with other makers selling at higher price!

it really selects loose timings and it pretty slow
you should use Turbo instead as it normally doesn't affect stability all that much and it much faster performance wise....
Extreme setting can also be used but this setting can cause instability as it really tightens MCH timings really tight
i also found XMP profile unstable during X38 testing
i would manually set timins and speeds and ratio

G.Skill usually make good RAM so just get an RMA done Cronos and be done with it i guess
Gigabyte can be a bit finnicky with their bioses............. and also try raising volts on the NB to +0.3 and bump RAM volts to see what happens
i was testing a rig a couple of days ago and the CPU i had was stable at 350MHz FSB (Celeron 460) on 1:2 RAM RATIO so i tested with 5-5-5-18 1T and did some 32M Superpi runs....i had to have the MCH volts at +0.3 or more can't recall and had to have RAM around 2.05v......
the strangest thing was that i could not bring the volts down and loosen the latecies to say 6-6-6-x or 7-7-7-x and get stability
but the board i have is not a normal production board so probably some weird ass :banana::banana::banana::banana: going on with my board
i should have an X48T-DQ6 soon so gotta do those tests..........

I sent a message to G.Skill tech support today relating the problems I've been having with the DDR3 1600HZ ram and hope to here back from them in a day or two. if you are beyond the return date with your on-line retailer, i would then suggest RMA'ing them back to Gskill.
once i get burned by a bad set of memory, i am generally a little skiddish about getting the same kind, again.
i suggest you look at OCZ Platnium as a replacement.

there is a F5C which is crap at least for a quad core...i heard some results before for a dual core and it was the same...i am currently using F5A which appears to be fine.
ok...540 is right on the edge of being ok...i had to do more tweaking in the bios, finessing items in the MIB center.

sorry mate, i am all over the map with settings:D...found out with those above, especially 540 FSB, for P95, would not run any of the video benches....they would freeze almost instantaneously after starting the bench.
i am finally restarted with 500 FSB at 8.5 times...i am now able to do all 3 video benches...i am currently tightening the timings to see if i can complete all 3 benches...i am presently on 7-7-7-20-60 (PL=8)....3d2001 completed and i am working 3d2005 at the moment.
EDIT:...i think my problem was the bios memory setting was set to "Profile 1" while i was manually adjusting the memory...i forgot or overlooked disabling that as i was climbing the FSB ladder...i due believe that was the reason causing the instantaneous failure of the 3D Mark benches...so...i restarted over at 500 FSB with 8.5 times, which is 4250 Mhz.
i am now up to 510 FSB at 8.5X (4335 Mhz)...just completed 3D2001 and i'm into 3D2005 at the moment...i am using 7-7-7-20-60 (PL=8)...after the 3 video benches, i will try P95 (Ha:D)
P95 would not work at 510 FSB X 8.5 so i am down to 500 FSB....that FSB appears to be steady.
it ran an hour's worth of P95 which i am happy with.
